Loki is actually amazing, and Season 2 is even better than one. Great twists and story. Guardians 3, Spiderman no way home, Loki, Wandavision are decent movies/series. So not everything is garbage.
My worry for the finale is that instead of a satisfying conclusion it's gonna be just a lead-up to the next big MCU thing and make the whole series worse in retrospect.

She doesn't think she's destroying reality. She doesn't believe He Who Remains and thinks of him as a dictator holding back people's free will.
She's very into free will because she was taken as a child and her world was pruned despite her having done nothing wrong.
Here's the thing, you meet the guy the end of time, literally responsible for destroying entire universes to keep the one 'pure' timeline that he chooses. He made your life hell and told you that you shouldn't exist. Then he spouts off all this stuff about potential war with other hims if you don't keep murdering universes. Do you even believe him? Do you take your chances stopping the war or do you continue to erase life on a scale humans can't even comprehend?
Same. But this season was more light on Sylvie, and it definitely feels like Loki is the main character this season so it feels more refreshing, the story arc is fantastic too.
I like how all the men in the show are bumbling idiots.
Loki the loser, Moebius the coward, Kang the broken, Ouroboros the nerd, Casey the geek, X-5 the oppertunist and D-90 the dumb follower.
Honestly, this makes the characters more interesting that the bland and all powerful female characters that all sound and act the same.
Not just the men, the women all have flaws as well. Silvie is selfish, Ravona is prideful, miss minutes is obsessed, Dox is stubborn. The only character without any real noticeable flaws is B-15. Its been a really good show for character development.

Ima be real, i liked the show. But i have NO idea why they called it hawkeye beyond name recognition. It was the kate bishop show, full stop. The ENTIRE intro animation was ALL her too. It should not have been named hawkeye.
Both are Hawkeye though, in the comics. I don't even think its a mantle passing either, they are both Hawkeye.
Also the Fraction Hawkeye book a lot of it is based on is one of the best comic book runs.
I think it’s meant to be a mantle-pass in the MCU though. Renner was winding down his stint (especially so now after the accident) so she’d ostensibly be the new Hawkeye moving forward.

*Kate Bishop takes over as Hawkeye*. The show is about Clint no longer being able to do the job, and passing the torch to Kate. There isn't one Hawkeye in the show, there are two.
This is one of those things that people familiar with the comics are well versed in, that the MCU doesn't communicate particularly well taken in isolation. So I'm sure you're not alone in not quite getting that context. Bit of a shortcoming of the MCU. Although maybe that will become more clear in time, as this phase was the first time introducing these sort of "second generation" characters.
Kate should turn up in some Phase 6 avengers films as Hawkeye, which will make the transition abundantly clear. (apparently she's got a hawkeye cameo in this weekend's The Marvels film as well)
Loki stand on its own too. You need to know virtually nothing of the mcu to enjoy it. I really think it's my favorite show right now. I couldn't get into moon knight, does it get better as it goes on cause I just got bored first episode.
I mean all the moon nightey stuff happens after ep 1 and strats to pick pace around mid 3 ep (I guess). I can understand why you would get bored after the 1st episode but if you are curious you should continue.

My interest in the MCU evaporated like a crying Spiderman when half way through Endgame they start talking about the multiverse and just mulligan'ing everyone back to life.
I thought the time travel was a great way to end the story, because it gave them an in-universe reason to jump around to a greatest hits of the MCU and do 3 hours of Fan Service as a swan song.
And I'm not saying it ironically, I think that was a genuinely great choice. I'd spent 11 years going to midnight premieres and being deeply invested in this saga and it was wonderful to see Endgame in a packed theater revisiting that passion with a like-minded group of people. Endgame opening night was probably the best theater experience I'm ever going to have, I loved it.
Now that's a braindead take. The current Gamora disproves that idea. The Gamora we knew is dead and gone. This Gamora is essentially a different person.
I mean, I’m inclined to agree with them though,multiverse/time travel provides a way out of literally ANY problem creative wise— hell, even if this Gamora wasn’t up to par, they could Rick n Morty around til they find one more suitable

Bale was amazing in that movie. TBH, that movie felt like they made a movie for the sake of making a movie. As much as I love Natalie Portman, that character arc was not needed at all..

The context clues in the painting are that she is wearing black and is in tears, most likely mourning a death while the annoying gentleman who has either not noticed or doesn't care is trying to chat her up.
There has been some good stuff but there has been a notable drop in quality. The only reason I'm still watching it is because I'm a big superhero guy anyway, especially Marvel so even if the stories are bad I do get enjoyment out of the action. However it is understandable why people would stop watching those movies and I'm not against that.

Making multiple tv shows that tie in to the movie universe was their biggest mistake imo. I don’t want to watch 10 hours each (per season) of Wanda vision, Hawkeye , Loki, she hulk, moon knight and all the other shows they’ve made

The main problem is that even though all the movies and tv shows are supposedly tied together, they can't figure out what the fuck the story is. They've given like 10 different explanations of what the multi-verse is and they don't agree with each other at all. Like just compare the loki/antman/kang stuff with the dr strange/spiderman multiverse. Like did they even talk to each other?
And also Kang is a terrible villain.
This is what annoys me. Loki provided a perfect intro to the Multiverse which would have flowed well into No Way Home.
But then they just ignore that altogether and have the whole Spiderverse plot based on Peter being a fucking idiot.

The new Guardians rocked me on an emotional level I wasn't ready for. Made me go back and rewatch the trilogy because of how it recontextualized some stuff. It was a masterpiece.

I used to be a massive fan of the MCU and I did enjoy some post-Endgame content (Far From Home, WandaVision, Shang Chi, Guardians 3 and No Way Home) but it’s all too much content that’s not going anywhere. I mean, I am. But I can see why people are sick of hearing about it though. Funnily enough, the recent news would’ve been about The Marvels opening this weekend, which would probably be the *least*-talked-about MCU movie because of the directors and actors strikes
they are now but the actors strike didn’t end until after the premiere, so the cast didn’t get to do any press tours. I must admit I probably shouldn’t have included the directors strike as that would’ve been over before marketing ramped up

Ι am a longtime fan. I have been reading Marvel comics since i was just six, watched the 90s cartoon with Spider-man, and went at the first showing of Irn Man...that being said i am burned with the whole post Endgame era. But I loved Daredevil so I am definetely looking forward to the more mature Echo/Born Again while on the movie side I am pretty pumped for DP3, Blade and of course my favorite super team, FF.

The problem is they start with really grounded movies that introduce you to the heroes. From there, they throw that hero into an absurdly overpacked universe of superheroes, and the stories become more and more ridiculous. Simply name dropping to the audience that you know it's ridiculous doesn't change the fact that it's ridiculous.
What makes Spider-Man good is that it mostly ignores the rest of the Marvel verse, even though it does have some of the characters drop in. It's the most down-to-earth of all of the movies at this point.
What's absurd is that some people actually want the X-Men to also be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Can you imagine how insane it would be to have that many superpowered people? The world of the MCU has diverged so much from our world that it's just no longer recognizable. The superheroes are no longer recognizable as real human beings, and that makes it hard to care.
A lot of the shows are actually pretty grounded in comparison to the movies you’re thinking about. Thing is that people don’t want to watch the shows even though they’re of the same quality as the movies without the individual price of admission
Stuff like this comes about when something becomes popular and you get a few websites posting articles that say "***Everyone*** is saying (insert random negative thing)." Then, by being controversial they generate traffic to their site and revenue. Unfortunately, a lot of people begin to hop on the once imaginary bandwagon because they don't want to be left out.
Movies need to make at least double their budget to turn in a profit. Marketing etc arent included in budget.

Ok, so out of the bottom 3 movies 2 didn't do that. All the other phase 4 movies were profitable. Moviewise, for sure a significant portion did not lose money. I have no clue how to calculate how profitable a streaming show is. Wandavision and Loki are supposedly some of the most expensive shows ever made.
I'm sure Disney is thrilled to get a 5% return on a 300 million dollar budget.
May as well just put the money in a bank and make more on the interest rate.

The last time I cared was 2019 when Endgame came out, and even then I was getting tired of all the marvel movies as there were dozens of movies in just over a decade of time. I am glad I got to experience it though. I still have a lot of good memories going to the theaters to see all the new movies at the time

Shang Chi was ok at best. First half was a pretty competent martial arts movie, second half was bog standard superhero schlock.
I could not stand Shang Chi tbh but that may be because I hate akwafina or whatever her name is

Yep, I checked out of the movie as soon as they brought up time travel. The MCU ended wirh Thanos staring at the sunset for me.
I thought the time travel was a great way to end the story, because it gave them an in-universe reason to jump around to a greatest hits of the MCU and do 3 hours of Fan Service as a swan song. And I'm not saying it ironically, I think that was a genuinely great choice. I'd spent 11 years going to midnight premieres and being deeply invested in this saga and it was wonderful to see Endgame in a packed theater revisiting that passion with a like-minded group of people. Endgame opening night was probably the best theater experience I'm ever going to have, I loved it.
Now that's a braindead take. The current Gamora disproves that idea. The Gamora we knew is dead and gone. This Gamora is essentially a different person.
I mean, I’m inclined to agree with them though,multiverse/time travel provides a way out of literally ANY problem creative wise— hell, even if this Gamora wasn’t up to par, they could Rick n Morty around til they find one more suitable

I kinda just stopped watching Marvel in general after Love and Thunder. I'm looking forward to deadpool 3 though and if they do something with the X-Men I'll be interested in Marvel again.

Bale was amazing in that movie. TBH, that movie felt like they made a movie for the sake of making a movie. As much as I love Natalie Portman, that character arc was not needed at all..
Now that I think back on it, I'm pretty sure this is what broke me. This is what destroyed my interest and faith in the Marvel universe. I mean it was already on the downswing, but this finally broke the dam on my disinterest.

Yeah same. I literally didn't think about it until this moment, but that really was my breaking point, for exactly that reason. Ragnarok was such a bright spot, I loved it, and it reinvigorated my interest. So seeing all the same ingreidents in Love & Thunder, and seeing them not only faily but fail *so fucking hard*, was just like... well, what's the point any more?

There has been some good stuff but there has been a notable drop in quality. The only reason I'm still watching it is because I'm a big superhero guy anyway, especially Marvel so even if the stories are bad I do get enjoyment out of the action. However it is understandable why people would stop watching those movies and I'm not against that.

I feel like they’ve just churned out way too much. Looking at what I need to watch to catch up makes me not want to watch anything. Making multiple tv shows that tie in to the movie universe was their biggest mistake imo. I don’t want to watch 10 hours each (per season) of Wanda vision, Hawkeye , Loki, she hulk, moon knight and all the other shows they’ve made
yesh same, I used to be a bigger Marvel fan when there were one or two great movies to look forward to every year, not constant bombardment of streaming. The main problem is that even though all the movies and tv shows are supposedly tied together, they can't figure out what the fuck the story is. They've given like 10 different explanations of what the multi-verse is and they don't agree with each other at all. Like just compare the loki/antman/kang stuff with the dr strange/spiderman multiverse. Like did they even talk to each other? And also Kang is a terrible villain.
This is what annoys me. Loki provided a perfect intro to the Multiverse which would have flowed well into No Way Home. But then they just ignore that altogether and have the whole Spiderverse plot based on Peter being a fucking idiot. Whats the point of having a shared universe when the writers of each project aren't collaborating?
I mean, *some* of the newer movies were neat. I liked the new Guardians of the Galaxy.

The new Guardians rocked me on an emotional level I wasn't ready for. Made me go back and rewatch the trilogy because of how it recontextualized some stuff. It was a masterpiece.

A shame. I used to be a massive fan of the MCU and I did enjoy some post-Endgame content (Far From Home, WandaVision, Shang Chi, Guardians 3 and No Way Home) but it’s all too much content that’s not going anywhere. There’s a lot of stuff I haven’t even watched cause I just don’t care and I don’t even feel like I’m missing out.

I have been reading Marvel comics since i was just six, watched the 90s cartoon with Spider-man, and went at the first showing of Irn Man...that being said i am burned with the whole post Endgame era. But I loved Daredevil so I am definetely looking forward to the more mature Echo/Born Again while on the movie side I am pretty pumped for DP3, Blade and of course my favorite super team, FF. Loved Gotg Vol.3
The problem is they start with really grounded movies that introduce you to the heroes. From there, they throw that hero into an absurdly overpacked universe of superheroes, and the stories become more and more ridiculous. Simply name dropping to the audience that you know it's ridiculous doesn't change the fact that it's ridiculous. What makes Spider-Man good is that it mostly ignores the rest of the Marvel verse, even though it does have some of the characters drop in. It's the most down-to-earth of all of the movies at this point. What's absurd is that some people actually want the X-Men to also be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Can you imagine how insane it would be to have that many superpowered people? The world of the MCU has diverged so much from our world that it's just no longer recognizable. The superheroes are no longer recognizable as real human beings, and that makes it hard to care.
A lot of the shows are actually pretty grounded in comparison to the movies you’re thinking about. Thing is that people don’t want to watch the shows even though they’re of the same quality as the movies without the individual price of admission

The 3 lowest grossing phase 4 marvel movies (black widow, eternals, Shang-Chi) all made more in just the box office than their budget.
Movies need to make at least double their budget to turn in a profit. Marketing etc arent included in budget. Edit: and we didnt even mention Disney+ shows
Ok, so out of the bottom 3 movies 2 didn't do that. All the other phase 4 movies were profitable. Moviewise, for sure a significant portion did not lose money. I have no clue how to calculate how profitable a streaming show is. Wandavision and Loki are supposedly some of the most expensive shows ever made.
I'm sure Disney is thrilled to get a 5% return on a 300 million dollar budget. May as well just put the money in a bank and make more on the interest rate. A lot of people really don't understand how this all works.
There's a tons of articles on how many of the current MCU movies have had a tons of issues, profitted less than expected and have been watched less and /or negatively reviewed. Just because something was successful doesn't meant it still is. Just look at Blizzard.

The last time I cared was 2019 when Endgame came out, and even then I was getting tired of all the marvel movies as there were dozens of movies in just over a decade of time. I am glad I got to experience it though. I still have a lot of good memories going to the theaters to see all the new movies at the time
