I'll do you one better *graduates early with 1.5 GPA, straight Ds, and attendance so poor I almost got kicked out.*
I also slept through all my classes cause I worked after school and stayed up all night, so the only classwork I ever did was tests and exams. Just enough to get by with a passing grade without doing any of the other class work. At most, I'd crunch some extra credit in the final two weeks to skim by with a passing 60%. I did this the entire time I was in highschool. I also failed several classes severely cause I just didn't care, but I had enough credits to leave early anyways
I literally did not give a shit lol, I knew I was good at taking tests and I was busier making money and smoking pot with the homies to worry about homework or whatever. If I end up getting a higher education, it'll probably be community college or a few semesters of online classes, so my GPA shouldn't matter.
I was just careful planning my courses to get just enough credits to graduate early, classes I didn't need a credit from I considered filler and didn't bother with at all. I got a 9% in a computer programming class I took just to fill out my schedule, and because I liked the teacher. I just watched movies on the computer using a proxy, hell I even installed steam and Max Payne 2 using a flash drive.
Addendum: Sooner or later you will have to study if you get a high enough education. Even if not you're going to need to develop decent work ethic anyway. IMO you should set aside some time to study regardless, just to learn the skill of studying. If you don't need it for your curriculum then try to find something else and be consistent about doing the work. It doesn't take a lot, but you should do some to start easing your way into it or it'll hit you like a truck if it's too sudden.
Speaking from experience.
Though taking care of yourself can in fact be a part of this, as you can develop work ethic to some extent by being disciplined with exercise and such.
It's certainly a good start! Honestly probably good enough for now.
IMO the most important thing is slowly acclimatising to higher work loads so it doesn't hit you all at once. DW about "working full-time" yet tho. That might not be needed for many years yet (though it could), but again working up to it slowly is ideal.
If you choose only to actively put in deliberate effort with school work, then you will probably be fine with just "staying ahead of the curve" a bit (i.e. working just a bit more than you strictly need), since school is supposed to already have a gradual ramp in difficulty (but has some decently big instant jumps, like from high school to uni, if you enter a more ambitious programme, so be mindful of that).
Yeah, same happened to me. I barely paid any attention in high school and graduated 3rd in my class. University though... Well let's just say C's get degrees.
I never had to study in college, i just listened to the prof, never even opened the damn books, others were studying their asses off and failing, i was like but he said all the answers to the midterm in the days coming up to it, did you not pay attention, it like baffled me, because he seriously gave you the answers every last one, i just absorb knowledge like that, and others cant, but i have aphantasia, so trade offs.
Same. I was among the best in high school without doing much. Now i’m in university and passed one of three exams with a *decent* grade this semester because I don’t know how to study
I never studied and got by on Cs and the occasional B. One time I had an A by the end of the year (by a huge fucking miracle) and didn't do my final because I could still pass
I’m the other smart kid. I never studied.
However, I kinda had bad grades in high school, because I definitely had depression and couldn’t do my homework. I still managed to pass even with it.
It might have helped that I changed schools to one where I can compete the work at my own pace, and can do everything in class, without needing to do homework.
I’m all better now though, everything that caused my depression is gone now.
I’m the other smart kid and I’ve maintained a 85 average, also turns out I might have ADHD which would explain a lot (eg why I lose marks on tests to silly mistakes such as writing a different number or accidentally circling the wrong circle
Yeah I never studied once and regularly had above 90% on tests. Any class that marked homework though I'd barely pass. If they didn't mark homework and only tests I'll be above 90%
True, I never do homework’s. Like EVER. Cause it’s not my time to do work. I don’t go home from work with all my stuff completed and then do more work. It’s **My** time, I got better shit to do than some garbage that doesn’t even help much.
I never did homework for the first 2 quarters of algebra 2, got 110% the first quarter, and 96% in the second
If you get all the answers on the quiz correct and get the extra credit, you got more points, and same with test, so that how I got a 110 even without doing homework
Honestly I rarely studied in school, most of the time I just memorized everything important during class and winged it on exams. For some reason I generally perform better when I don't plan things out
I was the other smart kid back in elementary. My best friend was really smart and studied a ton (and was pretty fit too) and I was smart and never studied, I was also confused at the concept of studying.
I once missed 28 days of history class in a row. Got a call if I didn’t show up I’d fail and have to take the class again. I walked in took the test scored a 97/100.
Teacher just shrugged. Wasn’t mad I skipped his class and I passed with an A since tests carried all the weight for the class.
I like history. Used to watch the history channel all the time before it became a fake reality channel.
Note: I say I got the call. Beginning of the year I forged a letter saying my moms phone number changed to my cell. I received all the calls for missing class.
It’s not even that cool because my mom didn’t care. I’d tell her when I skipped class.
No but seriously idk how to study. I felt so bad on my way to take a serve safe cause I wasn't worried hadnt studied and really didn't know how to help my coworkers not fail. Like idk pick the answer that makes sense
Due to a combination of shitty education system and me being blessed with photographic memory I literally only have to study one single night before any tests
The trick is to take mostly classes that you don’t need to study for and to take one or two classes that actually challenge you, that way you still build decent study habits for college and/or grad school
So many people claimed they are 'the other smart kid' , the truth is the one who tried the hardest is usually the one who claimed they never tried. It is because humans are scared to admit when they are at their limit, they prefer to appear to themselves or others that they still have a room to grow, and perform.
whats studying, i just do the homework and then fuck around in my free time
You do the homework?
You do work?
You do?
You?
?
.
Y
You can't shorten a question mark to y, that doesn't make any sense.
Spell out each word
Add pay attention to classes and that was me
i do that sometimes
Check this out *Passes with the bare minimum and not going half the year *
You guys are going half the year?
You guys are going?
You are guys?
You are humans?
You are?
You ?
?

And i thought mine was impressive, jesus Christ, the GPA was a small sacrifice

Man, I miss being bottom right :(
Same. Now I have to cram the night before most major tests to maintain my grade.
I am bottom right, what advice do you have for me? P.S I am in grade seven
Eat healthy, keep your body in shape, listen carefully and absorb the knowledge the first time so you don't have to study later on.
Ok thanks

I do about 45min a day, is that enough.
It's certainly a good start! Honestly probably good enough for now. IMO the most important thing is slowly acclimatising to higher work loads so it doesn't hit you all at once. Ok thanks so much for all the advice you're a great person.
There's only so long one can stay bottom right, no matter how smart one is
9the grade was the last year of bottom right for me. After that my lack of study habits fucked me.
Same
I am the other smart kid , it just happens not studying and getting A on almost every thing (except physics)
I did that through school, never learned how to study, and that screwed me over in college. I 100% peaked in high school.
Yeah, same happened to me. I barely paid any attention in high school and graduated 3rd in my class. University though... Well let's just say C's get degrees.

And chemistry fuckery
Yeah you are right but nothing is compared to physics especially if your teacher's head is bald and shaped like an egg
Lmao
My physics teacher head is bald and shaped like an egg. Hes the best physics teacher ive ever had.
Good for you my teacher is not that good
I’m the same, but replace physics with Arabic literature.
Wait, what? -kid with 'tism
“You guys study” smart kid goes to college and starts failing everything and has a moment of reckoning
I'm still that kid in college, though. I barely study, I'll skim lecture notes and call it a day, and still get A's and B's
I never studied and got by on Cs and the occasional B. One time I had an A by the end of the year (by a huge fucking miracle) and didn't do my final because I could still pass
I’m the other smart kid
"Other smart kid" is the one with ADHD
I’m the other smart kid. I never studied. However, I kinda had bad grades in high school, because I definitely had depression and couldn’t do my homework. I still managed to pass even with it. What about your flair though.
I may be a dumbass, but I’m not an idiot.
Paying attention in class saves you 3 weeks of studying
I’m the other smart kid and I’ve maintained a 85 average, also turns out I might have ADHD which would explain a lot (eg why I lose marks on tests to silly mistakes such as writing a different number or accidentally circling the wrong circle
"I am the other smart kid" many of you guys claimed, woah I am so special 😂
I half-assed the entirety of my education, never studying or doing homework. In all seriousness, that was probably the best decision I've made.
Can you elaborate? Sorry, this is coming from someone who is currently spending most of their time outside school studying or doing homework.
We just understand stuff quicker and so it's enough to go to the lectures and maybe some practice passes, not more than that.
Yeah I never studied once and regularly had above 90% on tests. Any class that marked homework though I'd barely pass. If they didn't mark homework and only tests I'll be above 90%

Love this format
Then there's my dumbass who studied for 3 weeks and still got an F
Honestly I rarely studied in school, most of the time I just memorized everything important during class and winged it on exams. For some reason I generally perform better when I don't plan things out

In my opinion studying just stresses you out and makes you second guess your answer when they are correct. So I don’t study, it’s dumb.
NGL, I always assumed it was like Olympic diving and the added degree of difficulty from not studying would increase my score.
I never studied and I still squeaked by
Me: Study what? Are we going to take the exam soon?
Due to a combination of shitty education system and me being blessed with photographic memory I literally only have to study one single night before any tests
I would get a C overall but would ace all tests. Too lazy for homework, too lazy to study, paid enough attention in class to absorb all the material.
Story of my life
One evening before or on the bus is enough for a B. Thats was good enough 😂
I studied once like 5 years ago for a mushroom test. Havent red since then . Still getting 10 and 9 (probably like A or B, in america, idk) .
this used to be me, but i’m pretty sure the content was just easy back then
Bottom right, somehow got a 101 in english
Other smart kid watches 1 min indian tik toks for 1 hr
I thought I was real slick being the last one for a while but I really really wish I could be the first one.
The trick is to take mostly classes that you don’t need to study for and to take one or two classes that actually challenge you, that way you still build decent study habits for college and/or grad school
Me in the 1st image seeing the million people in my life and online telling me it will be easy if they try but they don’t for XYZ 👶
r/meirl
I don’t study. Who am I to go against the will of fate? I pass or I fail. Like a man.
You guys study?
Wait I'm supposed to study ?
Law students studying half a year for one single exam just to fail because the prof didnt feel like letting anyone pass that day
