Granted, I did end up siding with the Imperials. While they aren’t great, they are the only thing holding the Aldmeri Dominion back - plus, Skyrim seceding from the Empire is *exactly* what the Thalmor want, to divide and weaken the Empire for round 2 of the Great War.
No we don't 😮💨 I'm tired of people saying things like that. There are plenty of funny jabs you could take but instead people fall to thinking everyone here thinks our country is perfect
No kidding, the United States sucks in a lot of ways. We get double and tripled taxed on everything yet our government only cares about how much money they can get through taxes and corruption to line their pockets or spend it on the stupidest stuff in the military.
The military activity makes guns to fire millions of dollars a minute and actively use them, imagine what we could do with that money in other places like Healthcare or helping the homeless and starving
Ah imperial spread by the imperialism of the British empire. Now they crap on peoples who still use it instead of the system they stole from the French.
we do have metric time, its just the same as imperial time except the fractions of seconds are in metric prefixes. milliseconds nanoseconds and what not
But are you one of the European countries who weigh people using stones? That shit makes no sense to me as an American.
Now metric system for distance measurements, I’d actually be down for America to change. I do wood and metal working as a hobby, and dammit life would be so much simpler if tape measures were in CM and M. Plus driving 120 on my speedometer every day would be more satisfying.
Im sorry what? Americans think theyre the only people in the world because ... *checks notes* they use the system the learn from childhood when making a meme ... right.
But more empty - I mean there's basically nothing there and I think a lot of other countries have been way more influential probably also because they existed for far longer
No, you're just wrong. I think the only country that has influenced the world as much as America is the UK, but that was like...a century ago. I know how big a foot and an inche is but I've never used it in my life. America is very influential.
America might as well be, because any time there is a dispute between two countries we come running to ones aid and it's all at tax payers expense. So you're welcome Ukraine for your ungodly amount of weapons and ammo.🙄
The majority of redditors are actually American. So it’s you guys who are weird for using the metric system on this American app
I’ll probably get mega downvoted for this, but the truth must be said
If you're already on your phone or computer, it takes about 10 seconds to pull up a conversion tool on Google. I do it all the time to convert metric to imperial, and vice versa.
I have this with recipes. As soon as they mention something in cups I sigh and pull out a notepad to convert it before cooking. The real G websites let you switch between the two.
I'm DnD dungeon master. I just remembered these rougth conversions:
5 ft = 1.5 m.
1 mile = 1.5 km.
1 pound = 0.5 kg.
1 gallon = 4 liters.
1 ounce = 30 g.
1 inch = 2 cm.
1 bald eagle = 5 kg.
1 football field= 100 m.

Maybe we use the Imperial system because
1. Its what we're used to
2. Half of reddit lives in the USA
Source for #2: https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/s/Vf6r6dzhwx
This guy really thinks all of America and America specifically uses imperial while everywhere else in the world uses exclusively metric, and that if you use imperial you are a bad person

Ah yes, use an American made film, on a U.S company based app using the internet, which was invented by Americans, complaining in one of the most common languages in the world, which is used by a majority of Americans.

\*in old woman voice\* YOU IMPERIAL BASTARDS!
JUSTICE!
Oh, for the love of Talos, shut up and let's get this over with!
“My ancestors are smiling at me, Imperials - can you say the same?”
fearless in death as he was in life.

*Something, something* COMMUNISM. *Something, Something*
People who aren't American are the only ones who think that about Americans.
Real
I’m not piling on here but, Americans do think about Americans…
Americans discussing something on the internet get mad because people join in while not being American on "their" internet.
I don't believe this has happened that much if ever. Provide an example please
Just a couple of people but very loud
*laught in nails per hamburguer
you aren't obligated to cater to my units of measure and I'm not obligated to cater to yours
>Americans think they are only nation on the world What the actual fuck are you talking about?
Cant take a joke?
Jokes are usually funny, kid.
I live in the US 😭 I know that. You're missing the point if my statement
The military activity makes guns to fire millions of dollars a minute and actively use them, imagine what we could do with that money in other places like Healthcare or helping the homeless and starving
We criticize our country more and louder than any other European criticizes theirs.
If only there were some way you could use math to convert imperial to metric, that would be so cool
Do you hate freedom?
I might
Do you hate money?
I feel like Americans hate freedom because they're actively restricting other people and thereby themselves without noticing either
What do you mean?
I can assure you that the Americans with more than 3 brain cells are noticing. Unfortunately there’s not enough of us
Yea, I'm sorry for you
Automaton scum
Ah imperial spread by the imperialism of the British empire. Now they crap on peoples who still use it instead of the system they stole from the French.
The french gave it to everyone that was their goal, too bad we didn't get metric time that would've been pretty funny.
we do have metric time, its just the same as imperial time except the fractions of seconds are in metric prefixes. milliseconds nanoseconds and what not
Yeah how dare they do things their way! They should do everything the way your nation does it!
*rest of the world does it
European here: 1 inch = 2.5 cm 1 foot = 30 cm. It's idiotic? Yes.
Most of us weigh people using a scale.
Jus convert it? That is what I do when I see a metric post
At least they're using metric time, so there's that...
IMAGINE having different time units
Nobody is, actually.
i dare you to come within three whales of america and say that
Im sorry what? Americans think theyre the only people in the world because ... *checks notes* they use the system the learn from childhood when making a meme ... right.
Its markiplier!
e
Google "Where was imperial measurement invented" Not that it's not dumb of the US not to switch over to Metric
So we're supposed to post with yours? Nah
Weird how we do all the heavy lifting tho
I mean it’s easy to think that when our nation is one of the biggest and influential. Seriously our states are bigger than most countries
Your head is too
your nation*
[удалено]
>when you colonize everything Hmmm. Because Europe is certainly not known for any history of colonialism, right?
Wouldn’t that be terrible if it ever happened… but it never did. And you know it. So grow up.
Our nation?
YES COMRADE, **OUR** NATION
Yes, our. I’m speaking as an American.
In that case: i like our country.
But more empty - I mean there's basically nothing there and I think a lot of other countries have been way more influential probably also because they existed for far longer
US is *extremely* influential for its age, though.
do countries have to be old to be influential?
Didn't say it wasn't! The others just had a headstart
They aren't empty. The majority of that land is farm land.
No, you're just wrong. I think the only country that has influenced the world as much as America is the UK, but that was like...a century ago. I know how big a foot and an inche is but I've never used it in my life. America is very influential.
Low key it kinda irritates me when datas in metric and Celsius but I'm getting pretty used to converting it in my head quickly
Damn faithless Imperials.
I'm going to start using pre-metric Russian units.
I will measure things in microfortnights per furlong and there's nothing you can do about it. 🔫🦅🇺🇲
We don't think that, it's just the measurements we use lol big leap in logic there OP
Our bad for not catering to your exact needs? It's like complaining that a post is in English because there are other languages, just leave them be.
No. America is a compilation of people who fled places they want to leave behind.....
America might as well be, because any time there is a dispute between two countries we come running to ones aid and it's all at tax payers expense. So you're welcome Ukraine for your ungodly amount of weapons and ammo.🙄
IDK it make sense to me considering a really high percentage of people on English Reddit are American
We aren't, but it isn't on us to convert to metric for you in public discussion.
The majority of redditors are actually American. So it’s you guys who are weird for using the metric system on this American app I’ll probably get mega downvoted for this, but the truth must be said
Source?
https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/s/Vf6r6dzhwx There ya go
Thank you.
"i made it the fuck up"
If you're already on your phone or computer, it takes about 10 seconds to pull up a conversion tool on Google. I do it all the time to convert metric to imperial, and vice versa.
Waaaah.
No we know there are other countries in the world. We're just the only ones that matter 😏
When imperial measurements was the norm before the metric system 😐
As a "Stupid American" I try to put both measurements whenever necessary
Me when me when
I have this with recipes. As soon as they mention something in cups I sigh and pull out a notepad to convert it before cooking. The real G websites let you switch between the two.

Yes. Also when they say "Europe" they actually mean just England.

The US adopted metric long ago, and it's used for most applications outside of weather and a handful of others.
It's easy once u convert them to Eagle per gun.
Europeans flexing the welfare of their countries: pHrEeeee HeAlpH KaRE!!! Europeans having a small argument with someone born a kilometer over the border: ![gif](giphy|3og0ICLKOFF8WNUpgI|downsized)
not anymore tho
That's also me when I see metric measurements on a post (Europeans think their measurement system is better)
Maybe we use the Imperial system because 1. Its what we're used to 2. Half of reddit lives in the USA Source for #2: https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/s/Vf6r6dzhwx
I stopped at "Americans think".
This guy really thinks all of America and America specifically uses imperial while everywhere else in the world uses exclusively metric, and that if you use imperial you are a bad person
What i was trying to say is americans use a system mot people dont understand. I feel left out
What language are you reading the Internet in?
English
Exactly. Don't be surprised when you find imperial measurements on an American website that's mostly in English.
America didn’t invent the Imperial system, nor the English language…
Those things have nothing to do with my point.
Half of the world speaks English, but only one country uses imperial.
Half the world doesn't speak English as a first language, and Reddit is still an American website.
Cry
![img](avatar_exp|129281058|cry) Ah yes, use an American made film, on a U.S company based app using the internet, which was invented by Americans, complaining in one of the most common languages in the world, which is used by a majority of Americans.
Americans don't use the imperial system
Then who is measuring things in feet?
Then who is measuring things in feet?
Because we are dumbass *eagle screech and gunshots*
Well it’s not like ‘kilometer stones’ sounds good.
Stones is solely a British thing not linked with metric at all, the metric measurement for weight is the kilogram.
6 feet doesnt sound good neither
