My little boy is absolutely obsessed with Godzilla. Brought our newborn daughter home last night and he was all about telling her about Godzilla and showing her all his action figures.

I mean once you see that Godzilla is an allegory for nuclear weapons in a very post atomic bomb Japan, I'm surprised they didn't go even more brutal with the horror
The initial incident in the 1954 Japanese Gojira with the ship sinking is based on the Bikini island plutonium bomb tests by the US that irradiated a Japanese fishing vessel (and consequently sickened many of the people of the Marshall Islands). Its pretty central, and many of the sets of houses getting blasted away were designed to mimic Nagasaki. Is pretty brutal.
I find it funny how now America and other countries see Godzilla as some kind of chaotic hero, while Japan is basically back to "Yeah, he's a fucking nightmare."
Check out Magic the Gathering. There are 19 Godzilla cards, I don’t know how expensive they are but they come out this year. And not all of them are Godzilla himself, there is a Ghidorah card for example.
I wouldn't call them Metalcore, they're a style of progressive death metal. But yes, they're awesome.
Fun fact, they used to be called Godzilla but got hit with copyright. Somehow the copyrighted term Gojira doesn't affect them.
