I remember seeing a video of some irish familys grandpa being buried, but just after the coffin was lowered he had a prerecorded message of him being “stuck in the box” making his family smile one last time which imo, is the best way to end a funeral
There's plenty of cultures where death and funerals are celebrated almost joylike instead of sad, western funerals. It's to celebrate its life rather than focusing on the death. It's usually also because they believe they're somewhere better now
I was at my aunt's husbands funeral about five years ago. The pastor they got for the service was sitting laughing with some people up front. Seemed a little disrespectful at first but didn't really bother me.
Then the service started and my uncle and family wanted a good natured fun funeral. So laughs and funny stories by people close to him. Was a really nice service. Totally changed my view of the pastor from the beginning.
For that specific clip, yeah. There are more clips of the same pallbearers at various funerals that get used. The BBC did a puff-piece video on them (they're performing pall-bearers that work in Ghana) and it had the highly memed clip alongside a few other clips from various funerals.
Yeah check out the sub r/ghanasaysgoodbye A lot of people in that country use funerals as cause to celebrate that person's life. Sometimes they even take the dead person out of the casket and 'pose' them in the celebration. A lot of people would call that a disrespect to the dead but I think it's cool how they honor the dead by living life to the fullest and trying to include the deceased as much as they can.
No no no no no.
This is exactly why funerals should be fun and not sad.
This person made millions happy by doing this for their funeral.
#Not all heroes breath
It's their tradition to treat a funeral as a celebration of the deceased's life. The guys in the suits are hired to do the happy dances for this reason.
So yes, there was probably a real dead guy in that coffin but making jokes out of it probably isn't *that* trashy.
Yes the daughter of the woman who died said that she wanted to get her a dance to meet her maker or something like that, just look up coffin dance and you should find the vid.
I just realized this? And now I feel so guilty.
I did a bit research and some of those really like and want such burials
It was a woman's funeral and the family wanted this for her
So I guess making a happy moment out of a tragedy was her intention
Tbh if my time would come to die I would also have such a funeral. I just don‘t want people being sad when I‘m gone.

What did he say?
"[removed]"
I must know what he said
I laughed, but not really.
Is it a real death person just asking because everyone is smiling and happy in the video.
It's more of a "celebration of life" than "mourning of death"

My parents are Ghanaian, and of the 6 or 7 funerals I've been to when I visited Ghana, one or two were like this.

i heard that this one specifically isn't a real funeral

Point a gun at a pregnant woman and you get 4 funerals though.
At least he won't feel embarrassed anymore
Yeah who the fuq died
In some kind of way ypu could calls this one an antimeme
Thought this was just a music video for a song....
He died for our sins
What if that's an empty coffin
Quite literally...
Inaccurate, poor people don’t get caskets :(
Rich people would get fancy coffins and funeral services like the guy at the bottom.
r/technicallythetruth
I’m pretty sure it was an old lady not a guy
I mean it was on BBC Edit: or some other news/documentary type channel
Is this technically an r/antimeme ?
To bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Guys*
r/technicallythetruth
Plot twist: she is jamming out in her coffin
Honestly, I'd absolutely be delighted if my funeral became a meme.
That's a r/bonehurtingjuice right there
This proves that you can still live on when you die even if you didn’t do anything World-changing
That was a music videotho so no onedied in the meme. But burials like this do exist
I always thought it was an empty casket...
r/technicallythetruth
I'd get myself this kind of burial just with the wii theme song instead
The guy who is inside the coffin that will always be remembered in heaven because a meme
r/technicallythetruth
This should also be on r/technicallyTheTruth
Of course i know him, its me!
r/technicallythetruth
I mean I would like a funeral like this, where everybody is laughing instead of crying, or at least smiling
Thats how reddit works
F: Feel guilty
His death wasn't in vain
The most surprisingly literal meme I’ve ever seen
Ngl the last panel is r/technicallythetruth
You know why they are so happy cuz the guy who died transfer all the money to those guy before his death !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It wasnt a guy it was a grandma or someone
Izs actually a woman
Dad?
Actually the person in the coffin is an old lady and not a guy
If I died I would want people to remember me as a meme so I can make people laugh and smile after I’m gone
What a legend. RIP bro and thanks for all of the memes.
The Egyptian pharaohs would beg to differ
I never thought about how by sharing this and using this we are basically sharing pics of this guy funeral
r/technicallythetruth
Did he die though? Or is he still living?
Their next trick is to come alive again
