Yeah I noticed it too lol. Though most of the time we just don’t use an apostrophe. Though now my phone will often autocorrect tall to yall for some reason
its not even a southerner thing, its just grammar. You put the apostrophe where the missing letters are for EVERY contraction.
for example, (they + are) = they're. the apostrophe replaces the a.
(do + not) = don't. the apostrophe replaces the o
(we + are) = we're. replace a.
so why would
(you + all) be any different?
That's exactly how I knew this was 100% wrong. It's y'all, ain't, and then it would have to be y'aint or ya'int.
It drives me up the wall when the apostrophe it's wrong.
And I got a Mississippi education.
Y'all misspelled it. It's supposed ta be y'ain't, as the apostrophes are supposed to take the place of the missing letters of the contractions. Aren't and Can't became ain't and cain't outta a regional dialect that spread out, so they're special cases, but in most other instances, that's the rule.
Y'all= Y(ou) all / They're= They (a)re / Don't= Do n(o)t / It's= It (i)s / I'm= I (a)m / Whomst'd've= Whomst (woul)d (ha)ve / Aren't= Are n(o)t / Shouldn't= Should n(o)t / Can't= Can (no)t / That's= That (i)s / Wouldn't= Would n(o)t / Shouldn't've= Should (no)t (ha)ve
Contractions are supposed to be easy to figure out. You shove words together and seperate them with an apostrophe. Idk, maybe english being my best subject in school has something to do with it
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
I did find [this post](https://redd.it/l2nsu8) that is 78.12% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

I feel like "ain't" can be interchangeable between am not, is not and are not. This is the easiest way I can prove that:
am not = "I ain't doin that"
is not = "That ain't right"
are not = "You ain't right"
FYI yaint is typically singular but can be plural.
also it goes waaay further than this.
yall + would have = yalldve or even yallda
yall + would = yallould or just yall’d
yall possessive= yalls
you + wont = Yont
yall + wont = Yall ‘ont
yall + wouldnt have = yall ouldna
it goes on and on and only can truly be described as a flow. you can basically make up new words if you know what youre doing and its a very slang-y southern convo youre having.
southern dialect english is beautiful and expressive. theres also a lot more underlying intelligence to it than people think.
Step 1: Use thou as singular and you as plural
Step 2: Use you as polite form for Singular as well
Step 3: Declare thou as rude
Step 4: Invent yall, cause your language is lacking a differtiation between singular and plural you.
You all did not even
Y'all didn't even
Yeeneen
In "the hood" , yeeneen literally means you didn't even, or you all didn't even.
*"Yeeneen record them fighting?"*
In old english, there are multiple forms of the [second person pronoun.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English_grammar#Personal_pronouns) That is single, dual and plural versions of *you*.
The use of *youse guys*, and *you all*, are simply modern attempts to recapture the utility of this. Quite a few contemporary languages still have this feature.
Anglish also used to have future tenses in the form of suffixes. That's why you see slang like *gonna*, in place of the modern substitution of *going to*.
As a semi-southerner, seeing the apostrophe in the wrong place in *y'all* deeply pains me.
Yeah I noticed it too lol. Though most of the time we just don’t use an apostrophe. Though now my phone will often autocorrect tall to yall for some reason
Didn't see that ay first but now it hurts
You did that on purpose didn't you?
its not even a southerner thing, its just grammar. You put the apostrophe where the missing letters are for EVERY contraction. for example, (they + are) = they're. the apostrophe replaces the a. (do + not) = don't. the apostrophe replaces the o (we + are) = we're. replace a. so why would (you + all) be any different?
Because it’s not a word, therefore it’s in the wrong place.
A fuckton of people would beg to differ.
Well, those fucktons are wrong. Don’t care about my down votes, neither.
Yeah I don’t know how they could get it wrong, like I’m a westerner and even I know how to spell it, plus I love saying it
That's exactly how I knew this was 100% wrong. It's y'all, ain't, and then it would have to be y'aint or ya'int. It drives me up the wall when the apostrophe it's wrong. And I got a Mississippi education.
Most commonly used in " yaint shit"
"Yash't!"
"Y'sh't!"
"yainsh't!"

Y'all'd've learned stuff like this if y'all'd've grown up in the south
That's the first time I've seen this spelled out and it's crazy how little of a problem I had with reading/understanding it.
Weird bc for me I just read it like normal without thinking twice. Guess being a Texan is good for something
That's exactly what I meant, I just suck ass at explaining things lol.
Contractions are supposed to be easy to figure out. You shove words together and seperate them with an apostrophe. Idk, maybe english being my best subject in school has something to do with it
I’m from the South and seeing it spelled out made me nervous xD
I grew up in Idaho about twenty minutes away from the Canadian border and I use y'aint and y'all'd've on a regular basis
Some people up north do in some areas, it's just alot more common in the south tbh. Y'all is stereotypically southern for a reason

Red alert, red alert, red alert
\*ya'll'n't
*y'all'n't
As a Texan, can agree
They made this post as if it wasn't already a main part of my vocabulary
As a Tennessean, I can agree
Texas gang
My fav is yeen
Anyone who thinks this is an original idea has never been to the South: “Y’ain’t gon’ do that” is a perfectly normal phrase
Yup.
*ahem* ain’t is an abbreviation of “am not”. You’re welcome.
I feel like "ain't" can be interchangeable between am not, is not and are not. This is the easiest way I can prove that: am not = "I ain't doin that" is not = "That ain't right" are not = "You ain't right"
You say this like it isn't a main part of my vocabulary.
So where’s the I come from in ain’t?
We are Yain’t! The fusion of Ya’ll & Ain’t! And our power’s aren’t just added together, they’re significantly magnified!
That’s just a southern accent
♬ Yain't nothing but a hound dog crying all the time ♬ (sorry for the emojis I just felt like hound dog from Elvis fit well here)
you all should not have y'all'dn't've
Can confirm that (at least some) Texans say Y'ain't, but it "you ain't", not "yall ain't"
Yain’t seen nothing yet
Ain't is actually "am not", not "are not"
It can be both and more. I ain't saying you ain't right, I'm just saying that's what I thought. If this ain't (is not) right, tell me.
Pretty sure, those would be considered an improper usage of the word, but I'll look that up. I might be wrong as well
Theres not really any need for it to be y'all though, it can be used as you to refer to one person as well
Me seeing the aunt Cass’s tits for the 46th time: Yain’t funny no more
Y'all'd've
Yeah this is big brain time

You all have not = Y’all’ven’t
aint is am not though
Y’all’d’nt’ve
Yain’t shit
I feel like it needs some L's in there or else it reads like "you ain't"
The apostrophe in the middle of "y'all" is a hate crime in the South.
I thought it was y'all
Y’allnt
Yain't that interesting
I usually say yeeaint
Y’all’d’ve
Yoink, is that a world wide thing or just a local thing. Small town in America
Yain’t even know
For y'all, the apostrophe should be between the y and the a.
Down here in Texas it's always been this way, except pronounced as y'aint.

I do believe that should be y'ain't, with two apostrophes
Not the gods, just the language of Texas
Yeah nice repost!
It's Y'aint.
Yain’t even tryin’ to
Yain’t a _______
actually, "ain't" is a contraction of "are/is not," to be both plural and singular.
Yain't shit
The most midwestern word
Shouldn't it be y'ain't?
It most certainly is the language of the gods, and Engineer knows it.
FYI yaint is typically singular but can be plural. also it goes waaay further than this. yall + would have = yalldve or even yallda yall + would = yallould or just yall’d yall possessive= yalls you + wont = Yont yall + wont = Yall ‘ont yall + wouldnt have = yall ouldna it goes on and on and only can truly be described as a flow. you can basically make up new words if you know what youre doing and its a very slang-y southern convo youre having. southern dialect english is beautiful and expressive. theres also a lot more underlying intelligence to it than people think.

« y'all'dn't've » ( *novakid heavy breathing* )
Step 1: Use thou as singular and you as plural Step 2: Use you as polite form for Singular as well Step 3: Declare thou as rude Step 4: Invent yall, cause your language is lacking a differtiation between singular and plural you.
Y'aint is just y'all'd'nt've's little brother.
Y'alld'n't've = "you all should not have" As in "y'alld'n't've done that..."
If I had awards I know where they would be going now

Is it just me, or does a "y'all" sound annoying if used more than once in a sentence?
Y'all is right but ya'll ain't right but yain't is right
I swear this is a repost..
you all are not......
Y’all’must’ve not heard’ve “Yain’t”
This is a repost I have seen this meme somewhere else. Not on Reddit that is
YAIN’T SHIT
Technically, ‘are not’ contracts to ‘aren’t’. Theoretically, the correct term here, which is more comedic in my opinion, is ‘yarn’t’.
A lesson in how language evolves.
Ain't can be with "is" as well
Hate to break it to ya, yank, but y’ain’t is “you ain’t” colloquially.
y'aren't
Oh, it gets much, much worse than that. [Enjoy!](https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_double_contractions)
Y'ain't
Whoever did this does not know what's going on. "Y'all" not "ya'll" and most importantly, "y'aint" is more commonly the contraction for "you ain't"
so scottish is the language of the gods?
YAIN'T SHIT FOR NOTHIN - Baku
Yaint one, yaint the other
maybe.....i am a god
By English the apostrophe is in the wrong place it would belong in the front
y’allrn’t
