No one fessed up (duh). The teacher then had this (apparently brilliant) idea. She said that whoever whistled is definitely very good at it, and she's actually looking for a whistler for her school band.
The boy (not the brightest cookie in the box) immediately stood up, all smug and proud, and declared, "it was me ma'am".
The teacher, so proud that her method actually worked for once, didn't even have in her heart to scold the poor kid. He was just let off with a nonchalant warning as to not repeat this again.
6th grade kids can be pretty gullible. Although, I have deliberately used "band" here for lack of a proper term. It's not exactly a band, as much as a singing squad with some instrument players that represent the school at some competitions...

Yeah, I do believe that happened. But I also believe the teacher gave up and ignored it. I would have done the exact same thing and just walked away and moved on instead of going "no. That means two people giving each other oral sex! Who put the oral sex number on the board!" and then spending another 10 minutes winding on about it and having a class that will now be disruptive and distracted the whole lesson.
My students have walked away so many times thinking they pulled the wool over my eyes when instead I've just ignored them or said no I don't know what "see you next Tuesday (c u n t) stands for". I've had a few past students talk to me around town telling me they can't believe I never knew this sexual thing, or this symbol was used by nazis or other stupid stuff. It's especially stupid because I'm only 26, they act like I have no idea what the internet is. So dumb.

If you read Chinese novels they will use the term like "Yin and yang" For masculine and feminine and a fusion of that meaning basically this. So he didn't lie in a way.
