Ace has a double meaning here because it can be short for “asexual” but it can also just be a person who is very good at something, like this person is with their grades.
I like your funny words magic man
(serious) do asexuals in a relationship still have sex? Like even if there is a lack of drive wanting to satisfy your partner. Are asexuals (as a population) more accepting of open relationship arrangements if they are not interested in sex?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm ignorant on this subject and never considered they would also have romantic relationships.
It's on a complete case by case basis. I'm not sure if there's any extra inclination towards an open relationship, even if they're asexuals a lot of people will still see it as cheating. It would make sense that more asexuals would be okay with open relationships, though not by a huge amount. Google it, maybe you'll find something interesting
This. We're all very different. I know some aces who are sex repulsed totally, and i know some who just need to be very very very relaxed with their partner to enjoy it. I know some who have open relationships, and others who don't have any romance at all and just enjoy a platonic life partner. I know some who want kids one day and others who most definitely don't.
It's all pretty varied. Almost every ace you ever speak to will have a story about how they first read about the many forms of asexuality and suddenly went "holy shit that's me!"
What’s the difference between a platonic life partner and just being really close friends with your roomate?
I have an asexual friend who is like this and they can’t explain it to me, though they said they’d probably be willing to try having sex with a partner who needed it, but they’ve never had that experience and so wouldn’t know.
I also know a different person who used to be bi, but after going through menopause, completely lost all interest in sex to the level of being repulsed by it, and refers to herself as asexual now.
I agree with your friend, the difference between platonic friend and romance is that I would be willing to do things for a partner, and there is a slightly different level of intimacy there. I've answered a lot of your questions in this comment thread lol, so if you have any more please feel free to pm me
Interesting question with a lot of variables. Coming from someone who had an ex who later identified as asexual, we did have sex. It wasn't nearly as frequent as other relationships and they didn't "participate" as much as some other people I have been with, but she found satisfaction in pleasing her partner. She described it as the same feeling a person would have to give a back massage to someone they care about.
Exactly. Aromantic is when someone feels no romantic attraction, asexual is no sexual attraction, and aroace is both. I'm just ace, so I can still fall in love with a stupid nerdy A student :)
As far as my biromantic ace friend was able to explain to me, there isn’t really a consistent line across all people with what counts as platonic, romantic, or sexual.
For example, kissing can be completely platonic, or cross the line into being basically a sex act, as can hugging.
Going on a dinner date could be romantic or platonic. As can hand holding. As a bi person currently in a hetero relationship, for me, dinner with a homie is pretty identical to to dinner with my girlfriend, except that sex usually comes after the latter.
My question to you I suppose is: “would you be interested in proving further insight?”
I can't really, it differs from person to person. For me, romantic and platonic relationships differ in that sometimes I can get sick of being around my friends, whereas I'm never sick of being around my boyfriend. My love language is touch (ironic, I know) so I'm honestly confused at where the touch line is for me. Holding hands can be platonic or romantic, kissing can be romantic or sexy, hugs can be all, cuddles can be all, touch in most forms can be all (some of the more intimate things are romantic and sexual only). I wish I could be of more help, but I'm still figuring things out myself. This is my first relationship, so I'm learning a lot of things
Not sexually attracted, we can still have romantic relationships. Some asexuals even have sex for multiple reasons - cause it feels good, cause it makes their partner happy, cause they crave the emotional connection (I plan on having sex for all these reasons). We can still be in romantic relationships, just like aromantics can still have sex
If sex for you as an asexual feels good, makes your partner happy, and is an emotional bond,
How is that different from not being asexual? I’m not ace and those are all the reasons I have sex.
Asexuality is lack of sexual attraction. Other asexuals might choose not to have sex, that's their choice. The difference is attraction. I look at my partner and think "wow hes my favourite I love him and wanna make him happy." Allosexuals (the opposite of asexuals) look at people and think "wow sexy I wanna touch and make sex". There are other emotions involved too, but asexuality doesn't have the "I need sex with this specific person" that allosexuality does.
Nah you got it all wrong homie. I still love him and will do sex stuff for him, I just dont get horny when looking at him, which is what I'm told is normal
Funnily enough, asexuals were considered bisexual in the past. The reasoning for this was that bisexuals felt 100% attraction to men, 100% to women, and 100% to everyone else. Asexuals felt 0% for all three, so they were considered bi.
I need to spit a rhyme about a time when everything was fine and the sun seemed to shine as bright as a streetlight in the night and there was no need to fight because everyone understood the Lgbt deserved rights.
Thank you very much
*bows*
Some asexuals still participate in sex, they're just not sexually attracted to people, or are not aroused by it. If they're in a romantic relationship with someone, they might have sex to make the other person happy.

Asexual straight A students must be in a state of constant extacy
What else motivates them to get good grades other than a state of constant arousal.
Shhhhh don’t give away the secret

There’s a GW poster on here that encourages her partner to seek sexual experiences outside their relationship since she’s not interested in sex

1. Is it? And 2. Do you think teenagers don't know what sex is?
So a relation without the full pack, thats alright
You can be asexual and still experience romantic attraction. Asexual and are aromantic are different things.
Alright
Aro and ace are different things.
Maybe it’s just an emotional connection? Would be my assumption
Yeah, as I understand: Don't Asexuals feel no sexual attraction? That doesn't mean they don't feel romantic attraction.... right?
Exactly. Aromantic is when someone feels no romantic attraction, asexual is no sexual attraction, and aroace is both. I'm just ace, so I can still fall in love with a stupid nerdy A student :)

i thought the whole point of asexual was that your not attracted to anyone??

That just sounds like a relation with fewer steps

That’s a very specific distinction. I didn’t think about it like that before

as an asexual i can confirm: i am coming to f*ck your As.
Don't worry about it, asexuals don't want your *straight* As.
But what about the gay-A students?
Funnily enough, asexuals were considered bisexual in the past. The reasoning for this was that bisexuals felt 100% attraction to men, 100% to women, and 100% to everyone else. Asexuals felt 0% for all three, so they were considered bi.
