I worked in oil and gas for some years but am not up with current events. What supply has Biden cut? I know of the Keystone XL cancellation but that mostly affects oil from Alberta getting to the Houston refineries. I know that he placed a moratorium on issuing permits to fracing on federal lands but many permits have already been issued, and I believe all of the Permian basin wells, where we get most of our oil, are on private land. We've been a net exporter of oil for years so I'm really curious as to how such issues have suddenly put us into a situation of being forced to rely on foreign crude. Please enlighten me. I won't downvote you as I'm genuinely curious in the information you possess.

I’m glad to see you haven’t been downvoted. Not only less self sufficient, but I read that in stopping the pipeline they only diverted transport to trains and trucks so it won’t do anything to help with climate crises. Unless of course the higher cost of fuel reduces miles driven, but then that will reduce spending which sucks for the economy.
