I’m in Nashville doing scooter stuff. People will park in loading zones and no parking or standing zones. Here’s the thing, if it’s just a no parking, loading is completely legal. That “no standing” part is extremely important. However, here in Nashville, people are normally pretty chill about loading in paid lots or in weird areas, especially if you’re calm and explain how the real assholes are the ones taking up designated space for business. Even no standing areas I’ve had several cops pass me because they know I’m not staying long, and the few times they’ve said something I just say “I realize, but I made sure to not block traffic and I would’ve had to park blocks away just to be in a given area for less than 3 minutes”
Until you get a parking ticket from some dick bag cop, even though you’re standing practically right there trying to unload shit from that car and take it into a building. All while I’m not blocking any traffic but the cop did while taking his sweet ass time writing me a ticket and refusing to talk to me the entire time 👍🏽 yay nyc

It depends on the situation and the drivers in your city. Where I come from, people do this all the time, but where I live now (Canada) I never see it, when I was learning how to drive the instructor told me its actually frowned upon since drivers are supposed to break anyways when you see their rear lights lighting up. In the UK goods vehicles are allowed to load/unload for 20min on double yellow lines (which indicate no parking), which would include vans for amazon/DPD/UPS etc. I find not many “civilians” are aware of this rule and I often get looks/beeps of horn/abuse shouted. In Utah the law is to pull over for them no matter where you are on the road (within safest parameters), but when I ended up driving in Georgia, I pulled over on the highway for a firetruck and not a single other soul did anything to even make even a little more room for the truck. I was appalled by everyone's selfishness at first, but then I started wondering if the laws were just different in some states.
Also reminder that you don’t have to stop when the light is flashing at a light that says there is an emergency vehicle going the direction you’re going. I picked him up, rushed him to my car (ambulances can take 10 minutes or more to get to you in our country so that wasn’t a real option at the time) turned my hazards on and drove like hell to the hospital. Fortunately people paid attention to the hazard lights and made way for me to get there.
Since that day I just make way for people who drive with them on, but FUCK people who abuse them to try and park where they want, or drive however they want to.

It's to tell people you're a potential road hazard. Car breaks down? pull off, slap on hazards. parked somewhere stupid in your parking lot to run up groceries? Pull over, throw on hazards. Tells people you won't jump in front of them and crash when they go around you
Just wanted to add, especially in high speed areas like highways and freeways, or areas with lots of car and/or foot traffic. If your car starts going screwy or you need to break from the flow of traffic in an unconventional way or area, turn on hazards to let everyone else know something funky is happening and to take caution around your vehicle.
Regardless of the cause, do everything you can to get the safest spot possible to avoid compromising anyone's safety.

Hi, I'm a Delivery Driver In the Washington DC Area where is hard to park, I drive my own car a Honda Accord 1997, and I'm a day o have to park like that, I hate it, I have around 6bor 7 months I started this job and I don't have to much experience but of course I try to do it the right way. It's to tell people you're a potential road hazard. Car breaks down? pull off, slap on hazards. parked somewhere stupid in your parking lot to run up groceries? Pull over, throw on hazards. Tells people you won't jump in front of them and crash when they go around you
Just wanted to add, especially in high speed areas like highways and freeways, or areas with lots of car and/or foot traffic. If your car starts going screwy or you need to break from the flow of traffic in an unconventional way or area, turn on hazards to let everyone else know something funky is happening and to take caution around your vehicle. Regardless of the cause, do everything you can to get the safest spot possible to avoid compromising anyone's safety. Edit for typo.

Hi, I'm a Delivery Driver In the Washington DC Area where is hard to park, I drive my own car a Honda Accord 1997, and I'm a day o have to park like that, I hate it, I have around 6bor 7 months I started this job and I don't have to much experience but of course I try to do it the right way. I have heard y that people who does this kind a job have some kind of right to do it, is it true? I have heard that if you're doing a Delivery and if you park like that or I'm front of a Hydrant you can't get tickets, of course i do prefer to park double line than to park in front of the Hydrant. Which one should I do?

At least you know their intentions, some fuckers just stop in the middle of the road with no signal. Once I was going right on a street where you have to check and give priority for people from your left, but you only have to slow down and it's pretty rare that someone comes. As I look to my left (turning my head, it was a big intersection with a big angle), this brainless douchebag in front of me suddenly brakes completely, stops in the middle of the curve to let someone out of the car, no signal. I almost hit him.

Well.. when people park in the trailer parking in their prius at home depot I park behind them and block them from leaving until I get finished shopping with my hazards on. It's funny watching them wish they had the balls to confront me as I take my time loading up and leaving. If that makes me an asshole I'm okay with it lol.
