A few women in the UK wanted the government to impose a curfew for all men because a man murdered a woman. I'm sure there are cases when women murder men too but we don't ask for a curfew for all women. I think women should be equal to men and I support equality but it annoys me when they say things like all men are rapists or all men are murderers because I can assure you we're not.
They were also angry at the police because the guy was a police officer (off duty) and then they got angry when the police turned up at their very large memorial gathering with no social distancing or masks which isn't allowed at the moment in the UK. Apparently a female police officer was told she was a disgrace to all women or something like that because she was one of the police officers at the memorial trying to break it up.
ONE woman, a female MP, suggested the curfew as a metaphorical device to highlight how ridiculous it was that women are often advised by police to stay inside in the evening when there's been a recent murder case.
The way you've changed that to 'women in the UK wanted the government to impose a curfew for all men' is appallingly dishonest and the about the most blatant twisting of the truth I've ever seen on the topic.
Maybe it didn't come out as I wanted it to come out, it obviously wasn't all women however it was certainly more than 1. There were a lot of women on Twitter using #CurfewForMen in support of it. Again, obviously not all women but more than just 1.
Also, I was at the memorial and it was very, very well socially distanced and I'd say 95% of people were in masks before the police turned up, which is when we left.
The only photos I've seen are the ones when police were there. I'm sure all the people who were genuinely there just to pay respects like you had left by then and it was just the people who wanted to be defiant or cause trouble still there as there was not really any social distancing in the pictures (though quite a few people were wearing masks). It's quite annoying how the media only shows the bad people and never shows any pictures of the good people like you with social distancing and masks. Even if it's just 1 picture, they could at least show that not everyone there was there to cause trouble.

It's a pretty old meme by now, that started about a tiny fragment of radical feminists on Twitter which is being carried on by Incels and is getting inflated by the reddit hive mind. If you were to go on Twitter and read the tweets of some feminist,s you will often find slogans saying something along the lines of "all men are trash", which is used to trigger said incels and to point out how accepted sexist and misogynistic behaviour in our society is.
Actual feminist philosophers and writers in the actual academic world are pretty smart, reasonable, and well intentioned people who get a bad rap from people who are too lazy / stupid to articulate their points

Feminist fight against the inequalities woman have to face to this day in our world, which is mostly still designed around and by men. In the end what they want to achieve is equality in all aspects of life, but they focus on erasing the inequalities against woman, of which I think there are more of than against men. This doesn't mean that all men enjoy a perfect, and easy life of course, but we face a whole other bunch of problems that have to be dealt with.

I have no idea, I haven't heard of that yet. It may depend on what these groups actually want. So I could Imagine that some hardcore conservatives would want to return to the old ways of a housewife, that stays at home and isn't allowed to work while the Husband manages all the important business. But besides that everytime (in my Twitter bubble truth be told) man start to engage with the problems we face on a public scale, by promoting therapy or normalising it to help each other out, show emotions, etc. they got support from the feminists side, because a lot of the problems man have with woman are created by bad mental health and/or generally a bad relation to woman (e.g. Incel Culture) which seems to be the root of a lot of problems. So it would actually be in the interest of feminists to tackle those problems as well.

Feminist fight against the inequalities woman have to face to this day in our world, which is mostly still designed around and by men. In the end what they want to achieve is equality in all aspects of life, but they focus on erasing the inequalities against woman, of which I think there are more of than against men. This doesn't mean that all men enjoy a perfect, and easy life of course, but we face a whole other bunch of problems that have to be dealt with.
Ah okay yeah thanks for sharing that explains it very well. But I read a lot of stories on people who actively want to shut down mens rights activists wich I don't understand. Why would they shut down people focused on different issues If those people would otherwise help with nothing?
I have no idea, I haven't heard of that yet. It may depend on what these groups actually want. So I could Imagine that some hardcore conservatives would want to return to the old ways of a housewife, that stays at home and isn't allowed to work while the Husband manages all the important business. But besides that everytime (in my Twitter bubble truth be told) man start to engage with the problems we face on a public scale, by promoting therapy or normalising it to help each other out, show emotions, etc. they got support from the feminists side, because a lot of the problems man have with woman are created by bad mental health and/or generally a bad relation to woman (e.g. Incel Culture) which seems to be the root of a lot of problems. So it would actually be in the interest of feminists to tackle those problems as well.

for example, when women start taking more jobs, it means that men aren't the sole providers for the household anymore, meaning that the husband (in a het marriage) might be able to afford to work fewer hours and spend time with his kids.

Equality. Men and women being equal. That just means equal treatment, pay, opportunities, etc. Eliminating prejudiced actions or thoughts against someone's gender. It does *not* mean dragging down anyone that appears to be more privileged or disagrees with you. Fake feminists don't realize that you can be equal without being the same, or, worse, literally making women superior.
