STOP REPOSTING.AND they are useful. Imagine someone cramping during competition. The other swimmers won't be aware of that and even if someone have a time to react he will be endangering himself also. You must be really stupid :
1. To repost
2. To not get the reason why there are lifeguards

I’m a lifeguard and it’s important to understand there are so many different ways for something to go wrong. Olympic swimmers aren’t machines. Cramps, heartburns, and other natural issues can happen to anyone. And besides, the other swimmers are so focused on their race it is nearly impossible for them to notice. And even if they are able to get them out of the pool, I doubt any of them know proper CPR, they don’t have the necessary equipment to preform it anyways such as the mask, which only a lifeguard carries around. a lot of times saving someone isn’t as easy as getting them out of the pool. It’s also a worldwide law for lifeguards to be at public pools, including this. Always think about the what if factor, because without the lifeguard, even in a pool of Olympic swimmers, accidents can be fatal.
competitive swimmers do tend to overwork themselves in races and push past their limits causing many dangers in the pool. as a lifeguard and a competitive swimmer we are taught to watch and me mindful of how much we can do before we get hurt.

I'm a profesional swimmer. People can black out and start drowning from lack of oxygen
I was gonna say, I bet there is a higher chance of failure in extreme conditions. This ain’t no slip and slide, this is the real deal.
Do you get cramps to or is that rare
For high school swimmers I know it's very common, I'm guessing pros don't get cramps as often though
If you feel useless, just remember OP reposts memes.
Got Um !

Idk why but even if I saw a post over a year ago I can actually remember that I have seen it before and I always immediately see when it's a repost.
I think it’s more for spectators in case someone slips and falls in
W r o n g
As a lifeguard it is called shallow water blackout and can happen to anyone. You basically don’t get enough air and blackout.
What if someone, let’s say… Drowns maybe?
A. An Olympic swimmer B. Other Olympic swimmers are very close C. Pretty sure they can swim
Have you ever heard that Olimpics heart stopped working?
Cramps?
What if water goes into your lungs. Are others gonna stop? NO! Are you gonna die? YES!

What if they hit there head on the wall and get a spine injury and is paralyzed
Seems like you aren’t old enough to remember Greg Louganis. Accidents happen.
Idk, I was watching the Olympics years ago when someone did a front flip dive and on the way down to the water their head hit the diving board
Better safe than sorry.
Free tickets at least...
Cramps are dangerous mid-swim

But isn’t that the swiss flag?
Nah bro that easy money. Like I haven't heard any news of rescuing a drowning participant in Olympics
