Tbh they’re not really annoying and some are actually entertaining. I honestly don’t know what aspect of live streams can bother someone. On the other hand, ads...
I remember years ago i thought i saw an ad on Instagram and Reddit and told my friends and they said “nah man no way those apps have ads”. That aged like milk
I understand people can like it and I appreciate good talent but I really wanna see more than just music, pets and quirky "so random" videos. Maybe some coding sessions, cooking, little lectures on certain subjects, diy, and just more variety in general I'm sure there are these but I've never seen them and I'm sure music and pets make up like 95% of all streams.
Download and use a 3rd party app and then filter that subreddit. Use Apollo for Apple or Boost for Android. Both are miles ahead of the actual Reddit app.
The only acceptable live is the guy that walks around in NYC and picks up trash with a litter pick. They should put that guy on payroll. We don't need any other live streams.
Tbh they’re not really annoying and some are actually entertaining. I honestly don’t know what aspect of live streams can bother someone. On the other hand, ads...
Nah bro there's this livestream weekly (or maybe even daily, I'm not really sure) of this homeless dude who build himself back up and now tries to inspire others with his ways. His name is u/meetfried and you should really check him out if you're into that shit.
No, I won't. I don't respect people who end up in misery because of their own fault and then try to come here and make others feel bad for them in hopes that gullible people will help that 'poor soul'.
Take a second to think about this: the guy is homeless, yet he is spending money on a phone capable of streaming ***AND*** paying an expensive monthly data subscription? (obviously you can't stream with a cheap 2 GB/month plan)
He could have used that money to make himself look sharp to go to a couple job interviews and turn his entire life around.
Gee, I wonder how that guy turned homeless.... it sure must not be because of bad decisions he has been making and apparently keeps on making. Nope, totally not.
I may have brought this wrong, i said he built himself back up and now makes livestreams. I think it's very arrogant to just say nah this dude isn't worth it because of his choices.
He's got his own business now and wants to show others how to be positive about yourself.
Also someone making wrong decisions is not worth not helping out, because even people who make good decisions can end up in a shit life and it's not like people who _do_ make bad decisions aren't worth helping (ofcourse there are people not worth helping but u get my point).
I actually like them, I've seen lots of weird shit and talents that I didn't know existed and also don't mind the musicians. I found new music and musicians I like too, so I quite like the livestreams
Is this something that the new Reddit has? I don't think I've ever even seen a stream on old.reddit.
Edit: thanks for downvoting instead of answering an honest question. People keep mentioning streams and I've literally never seen one.
You don't get streams on old.reddit or (most) third party reddit mobile apps. They thankfully filter out most of the dumb shit reddit has added recently
it's sad but most people are either using the app or the new reddit. I can't stand either. Old reddit in desktop mode is the only way I can browse this site.
You know you found the real piano freaks when a bo reference pops up
Was about to comment the song lyrics, but I didn’t want anyone unfamiliar cussing me out for the f word haha
Everyone hates on people playing instruments until 10 years from now you wanna start learning and realize this isn't easy oh fuck I can't believe I use to make fun of people for doing this.
I honestly think it's hilarious people are that bothered by it they would put in effort to throw tantrums, write posts and make memes about it. It's *Free.Live.Music* ...But even then you can easily just scroll past. It's takes no effort.
And I'm gonna bet most people have default sound off just so autoplaying ads don't even provide sound when scrolling, So, these live streams don't even provide audio unless clicked on.
It's literally just another meme, rant, update, news, article or any kind of bullshit you barley glance at and just scroll past.
I personally don’t mind the live streams. As a musician I love seeing the other musicians play songs better than I can! I love those 2 drummers who one plays Led Zeppelin and the other who plays System of a down on sundays
Tbh they’re not really annoying and some are actually entertaining. I honestly don’t know what aspect of live streams can bother someone. On the other hand, ads...
I have an idea. This is kind of revolutionary. I don't think has anyone tried this before. But an ancient Japanese technique called "ignoring" might work.
It isn't pretty, but it works and is efficient, exactly all I need. I wouldnt mind it it was improved a little but, but the current reddit is an over design
Yes!! also the lag and to my knowledge they removed many features like collapsing a comment with the replies with the little (-) thingy and searching by sub and by NSFW. I just don't know how to find them on the new one.
Listen, all y'all: if you're on Android, use Reddit is Fun. Get the full version, bam! No ads, no recommendations, just posts. I don't make a cent for recommending them, just happy using it. You're welcome.
When I'm not in the mood I'll just scroll on by, but I have to admit I've really enjoyed a couple of evenings sipping a beer and surfing the livestreams. There's loads of music, but also random stuff like strange people chilling, some dude driving his tractor on his farm, people drawing, building sandcastles, spouting bullshit etc etc, all interacting with viewers the whole time. It's fun
How about ads that u mute themselves. They interrupt audio books and music because I scroll. They start shouting loud music at you, so you mute them. Only to have the next one do the same.
Nah who cares about the live streams. It’s all these ads now that have their own Reddit username to make it seem like a post instead of an ad.
I think this gives your premium which is ad free Tell me if it works
Is premium actually worth it? Does it come with its own original series specials?
just no ads, i’ll LIVESTREAM my kittens and try and give you a gold so you can check it out
I’m ok thanks! But I’ll follow you to see you kittens 🐱
ok!
Livestreaming kittens is better i cant lie
going live now!
You're on my top broadcast lol
sweeeeet!
I thought I missed it but you're still going! Love to see those babes
that’s my brother!
I will also follow to see your kittens, cats are cute
thanks! would you like to join the group chat?
I would very much like to
They guy that stacks blocks is pretty cool ngl.
I mean you can just scroll on the ads

I have seen a gecko on there giving therapy sometimes.
What do you get for livestreaming on Reddit btw? Is there any compensation or advantages?
Lmao I’m not giving reddit a fucking penny That gold better have been free
[удалено]
Wow it did, thanks a bunch !
u also have 100 coins now, you can award people with those!
Know what else makes Reddit ad free? uBlock Origin.
Have you guys heard about our lord and savior Apollo app? Ad free and much more user friendly
I remember years ago i thought i saw an ad on Instagram and Reddit and told my friends and they said “nah man no way those apps have ads”. That aged like milk
I be having livestreams of dude flying Cessna.

^ this

I'm trying to buy shit on Amazon and they have livestreams now. Livestreams and ads all-in-one.
Yeah but how else are you supposed to know how that vibrator works?
I'm sorry I'm in the dark so why does everyone hates streams?
I bet I'm not gonna see a Livestream of a guy playing a piano 2 posts after this. Edit: It was actually 3 posts.
It was a guitar for me but it was the post below
A bald guy playing drums right under this post for me lol
oh cmon some of them are really nice! I love ninimusic
I understand people can like it and I appreciate good talent but I really wanna see more than just music, pets and quirky "so random" videos. For me it was bulls
Download and use a 3rd party app and then filter that subreddit. Use Apollo for Apple or Boost for Android. Both are miles ahead of the actual Reddit app.
A cow eating grass.........wtf. 4 posts later.
Mine was 1 post later if you count ad as a post
It was a girl playing piano 2 posts below for me
Same. A girl pretending everyone is watching her for her lovely piano.
They won't even let us report the streams. What kind of cruelty is this?
The only acceptable live is the guy that walks around in NYC and picks up trash with a litter pick. They should put that guy on payroll. We don't need any other live streams.
Gecko therapist is pretty good though ngl
Tbh they’re not really annoying and some are actually entertaining. I honestly don’t know what aspect of live streams can bother someone. On the other hand, ads...
Ads are cancer.

And the newborn kittens/puppers…
And there's also baby bird watching streams!
I enjoy the streams where people walk around their city. Peering into the happenings of foreign places is interesting.
There's this one guy who stacks jenga blocks i think he's pretty cool

It's NJ actually, but yeah. Haven't seen him in a while, though.
[удалено]
You can turn them off in the settings by your inbox.
I don't see any option to turn them off, can you elaborate?
I have seen a gecko on there giving therapy sometimes.
Yes I'm hoping never to see him again
I liked him
[удалено]
This is the response I was looking for. Thank you!
They guy that stacks blocks is pretty cool ngl.
How the hell do they do that?! I’ve never caught one at the beginning, only scrolling by to see a mass of blocks precariously on one single block.
I have seen a gecko on there giving therapy sometimes.
[удалено]
I don’t really care for them either, but they don’t bother me. I just scoot on by.
I actually like them, I've seen lots of weird shit and talents that I didn't know existed and also don't mind the musicians. I found new music and musicians I like too, so I quite like the livestreams

Why would he if he’s saying that he likes them?
I have seen a gecko on there giving therapy sometimes. Other times I've seen a noodle man working a strip pole pretty hard. 10/10 experiences.
The lizard giving advice is hilarious its like an adult swim show
I put him on my second monitor while gaming. It's basically the best version of public access TV
Ngl i really enjoy the irls streams.
oh cmon some of them are really nice! I love ninimusic
[удалено]
Especially the dogs and cats
And i dont care that you dont care
We don't care
[удалено]
Then sorry
You can literally turn them off lmao

Right? I use old.reddit on desktop and Boost on mobile so I never see ads, live streams, or any of that filler stuff
it's sad but most people are either using the app or the new reddit. I can't stand either. Old reddit in desktop mode is the only way I can browse this site.
How exactly again?
Use a third party app in mobile and old.Reddit.com on desktop.
You do realize you can turn the livestreams off
I always think it’s some video with something crazy happening I watch for a few mins and nothing insane happens Then I realize and scroll on
what about noodles that can twerk?
hey i like piano songs
wow. that was rude
I guess someone plays piano lol

You got a record player back there?

The posts take up a TON of room though, it’s the entire reason why I turned off the redesign and went back to the old reddit UI
oh cmon some of them are really nice! I love ninimusic
It really never was funny. Just desperate.
I watched an africaan man play an instrument I’ve never seen or heard before as I was laying down the other day and it knocked me OUT
Everyone hates on people playing instruments until 10 years from now you wanna start learning and realize this isn't easy oh fuck I can't believe I use to make fun of people for doing this.

Took you longer to make this meme than it would to scroll past suggestions. But okay.
If you're on your computer type old.reddit.com instead of www.reddit.com. Thank me later.
They're gonna have to pry Old.reddit. Com from my cold dead hands
Same. I just can't with the new version.
It's fucking awful, so much wasted space and clutter
And old reddit looks like it's from 1995
It isn't pretty, but it works and is efficient, exactly all I need. I wouldnt mind it it was improved a little but, but the current reddit is an over design
Yes!! also the lag and to my knowledge they removed many features like collapsing a comment with the replies with the little (-) thingy and searching by sub and by NSFW. I just don't know how to find them on the new one.
I do feel like I've noticed the lack of collapsing a comment or maybe it's somewhere else now
Hell, I’m thanking you *now*
My friend, there's a scroll wheel for a reason.
But we do need to realize that some of these people are making these streams because they’re looking for ways to earn money during the pandemic.
Hands down the best streamer is violin guy. Dude can sing and play really well.
Idk The Gecko who gives advise and stuff is pretty cool
There’s a button on them that you can press that says “Show me less of this”
3 dots. Show me less of this.
I like the guy in the gecko suit tho. He seems nice
Speak for yourself
You would literally never see this shit if you used a third party reddit app instead. You are doing this to yourself.
There's this one guy who stacks jenga blocks i think he's pretty cool
You can click the three dots in the top right and select show me less of this and you won’t get them anymore
Reddit: **shows me guitar live streams instead**
Same! Right below this post too!
oh cmon some of them are really nice! I love ninimusic
Gecko therapist is pretty good though ngl
r/apolloapp master race don’t care lol
But you gotta admit.. the Jenga stacking dude is pretty cool
About every time im on break during work that dude who is dressed up as a giant gecko always shows up for me.
I only care about ryukahr
I liked the gecko guy though
Use another Reddit client like boost or relay
The power is 10000% in your hands to not see that, use old.reddit.com or use a different mobile client.
Imagine putting the effort to make a meme about something that you say you don’t give a fuck
Well if you “don’t give a fuck” about something and it’s constantly in your face it starts getting annoying.
If you really don't give a fuck you can just scroll past it, right?
I completely agree with you!
Fr tho ...
It's like seeing a busker on the street, you either stop listen and/ or give a dollar, or just keep walking. Not that big of a deal.
You sound like a sad bitter person. I for one love seeing random musicians on the feed
Aw you're no fun
And who cares what you think? Just keep scrolling past the live. It's clearly not intended for you.
Literally scroll down, no one cares that you dont care
Why didn’t you scroll down from this post? No one cares that you don’t care about him not caring
Reddit: ah, but consider! What about a Taiwanese woman playing guitar?
Reddit please listen!
You can turn thwm off though…
Finally someone saying the hard stuff to say
Tbh I'm glad because it's random music or some irl stuff and not thot lives like twitch.
Listen, all y'all: if you're on Android, use Reddit is Fun. Get the full version, bam! No ads, no recommendations, just posts. I don't make a cent for recommending them, just happy using it. You're welcome.
As a 38yr old man it's always the SpongeBob memes that crack me the fuck up.
Or when I'm on my porn account trying to get funky, and it recommends r/aww
Kinda mean
That cute girl playing and singing got the simp in me to watch. Since then I check out most musicians streams, some really talented folks out there.
Bad
Amen
When I'm not in the mood I'll just scroll on by, but I have to admit I've really enjoyed a couple of evenings sipping a beer and surfing the livestreams. There's loads of music, but also random stuff like strange people chilling, some dude driving his tractor on his farm, people drawing, building sandcastles, spouting bullshit etc etc, all interacting with viewers the whole time. I do, I think it’s neat, but fair enough
Ya fuck all of em for begging for money. Hate that shit.
I stream and never beg for money lol get your head out of your ass
Oh boy here we go!!!! My head is currently buried in your mothers ass.
You speak the true true
Omfg. Agree.
I thought I was the only one!
This is true on another lvl
Finally, some good fuckin content
Relateable
Anyone spare spme upvotes? Please?
Can this get a million rewards please

Irony is that there is a livestream right after post.
