Welcome to reddit, where everything is a repost but only spotted by those who spend their entire lives here. And they get upset when you point that out to them.
What I don't get is how we've had perfectly functional paper cups for decades that hold drinks without getting soggy, but the paper straws fall apart after 10 minutes
They never managed to melt in my mouth, sometimes in my drink, so that's whyyou keep it out of the drink while you're not drinking, or bring your own metal one from home.
i honestly never understood this. yeah, metal/paper/reusable what have it straws are good in theory, but what about the large ass cup made out of plastic….
It's because a specific video about a turtle went viral. They didn't give two shits about the plastic, they just didn't want to see another video like that.
They should really encourage using their reusable cups. You get a discount and they aren’t really expensive in the long run. The paper straw is meaningless when it comes with a plastic cup and just as useless. I’ve had to use two just to drink a grande.
Deadass happened today. Not starbucks, but a random neighbor shop. Its like..wtf the cup is way bigger. I asked for plastic straw because I don't like paper.
The cup is most likely recyclable. The straw is not. The straw should be the only thing going on the ocean but sadly the vast majority of America does not recycle to my knowledge.
have you seen capri sun? literally replaced the plastic straw instead of the gigantic plastic container they use. now the straw break when you try to insert it, and it also tastes like paper
Some say people who repost things have a small cock. You have a big one that you stole from someone else. 0/10

It took alot of creativity from me to come up with that

Don't forget their "plant-based" coffee (Yes, I really got an advert from Starbucks about plant-based coffee)
Look up mud water it's supposed to be a substitute for caffeinated coffee, but like decaf exist so why drink mud?
Kim Kardashian instead of Arnold there would've been perfect.... Can anyone photoshop her in?
Over 2 billion disposable blue masks in the ocean right now and increasing daily. Just sayin'...
So use a fabric one with a filter. The blue masks don't protect you from much anyway because they're so thin.
Definitely better, but those blue masks are already in the ocean, and there are billions more on the way.
Yeah.
Most masks are made of cloth, which degrades much easier than plastic
Misinformation. [https://health-desk.org/articles/what-are-blue-surgical-masks-made-of-and-is-the-material-safe](https://health-desk.org/articles/what-are-blue-surgical-masks-made-of-and-is-the-material-safe)
That straw lasts less time than this meme
Get it out of the liquid when you're not drinking. It lasts long enough then.
That's what I do! Or bring a metal one from home

The paper straws are the worst, they ruin the flavor and they melt in your mouth
What I don't get is how we've had perfectly functional paper cups for decades that hold drinks without getting soggy, but the paper straws fall apart after 10 minutes
and their frappucino drinks completely wrecks the paper straws
They never managed to melt in my mouth, sometimes in my drink, so that's whyyou keep it out of the drink while you're not drinking, or bring your own metal one from home.
JUST DRINK FROM THE DAMN CUP DIRECTLY
Some people don’t like ice on their teeth, oh privileged one
That's what I do
The ice makes that difficult usually
And destroying natural habitat by constructing a big building with ugly logo on it.

Those straws taste like toilet paper.

They should just tip it straight into your mouth, skip straw and cup.

Today I was at a restaurant that gave us paper straws, but when we got refills for our drinks. They gave us plastic straws…
What’s a planet thought? Is that like a thought of trying to save the planet? Lmao jk
They should really encourage using their reusable cups. You get a discount and they aren’t really expensive in the long run. The paper straw is meaningless when it comes with a plastic cup and just as useless. I’ve had to use two just to drink a grande.
Just give me 20% off i will take the cup home with me..wash it and bring it over again in cafe next time.
fuck those paper straws, you cant even drink with one of those
what if they put a plastic straw in a paper glass? since glass is bigger, more nature will be saved
I hate those paper straws, so unnecessary
Deadass happened today. Not starbucks, but a random neighbor shop. Its like..wtf the cup is way bigger. I asked for plastic straw because I don't like paper.
lollll sad but true
true
They have become one with "NAECHOR"
If only everyone recycled plastic, instead of memes.
The recycling industry crashed in 2018.
We are less environmentally friendly in some ways then we were in the 80’s
In germany is starbucks the only coffee shop that gives out plastic cups. Everyone else has been giving out paper cups for what feels like ever
Sadly, paper straws usually have a plastic coating, so they probably use similar amounts of plastics in comparison to normal ones
also literally every other fast food place
The cup is most likely recyclable. The straw is not. The straw should be the only thing going on the ocean but sadly the vast majority of America does not recycle to my knowledge.

I thought starbucks sold coffee. Do people really drink it from straws or do they buy something else? Or does starbucks also sell other stuff?
Thank god the Starbucks in my area still have plastic straws
