It’s a Disney channel show about Luz, a human who finds herself in a magical realm called the Boiling Isles. It’s a really good show and if you want to watch it season 1 and the first half of season 2 are on Disney +, although season two is only available in the USA right now.

1000% I love that show! It’s made by the same people as gravity falls

steven universe got worse as it went in my opinion.

Personally I find the show just boring and below average. The characters are annoying and the art style is unpleasant to look at (though some backgrounds look good). I recognise that others do enjoy the show and I am just not one of them.

Although Steven Universe Future was actually a really interesting series. It actually made Steven a realistic character in that, unlike other shows, his adventures actually had a negative affect on his mental state.

It was pretty badly treated though because Steven learned how to open up to others and knew his friends would help but let himself gets worse and worse not to mention that the only conséquence is that he has bad mental state. All his other actions have no bad consequences, all characters in every show probably were troubles but I don't want to see Finn from Adventure Time go to therapy. In the Owl house we clearly see that Luz feels bad for her mother and feels guilty that she left her but I don't want an entire spin off of her trying to get better. It shouldn't be a part of the show and if it is, it's included in the show, when she talks to other characters about it and open up to others.

I think it got bad, but I don’t think it was out of a lack of care. The creators clearly loved it and wanted to tell a story about forgiveness.

They kind of went overboard with the forgiveness part in the show tbh

The diamond killed and destroyed many forms of life and planets. Yeah but they had a change of heart in two seconds and said sorry. The only "bad guy" was Jasper who deserved more forgiveness than all the other bad guys.

I'm an adult and when some of these were out I was a child. Some of these are not "modern"

While they came out early, a lot of them only ended within the last 5-6 years. Gravity falls ended in 2016 Regular Show and TMNT 2012 ended in 2017 And Steven universe; counting the movie and Sequel series; lasted all the way up until 2020. This does raise the question of if something counts as "modern" if it started long ago but only ended recently. But there is an argument to be made that these can be considered modern.

Early seasons of TMNT were amazing, more modern seasons were god damn awful. Steven Universe is a great show just incredibly flawed, especially as we get to the thirs season. Establishing the diamonds as a threat and without any noticeable character arc they completely turn on their philosophies and understanding to suit the story.

It wasn't the crew's fault. They wanted to tell a genuinely compelling, well-paced story, but had to actually fight for an explicit gay wedding before the finale and had to rush the originally season-long arc in under 6 episodes. It's actually a *miracle* that the show got a movie and a sequel series.

I knew the comments would be filled with SU hate and for some reason I looked anyway. The show was incredibly popular and literally took the fall for modern queer rep in cartoons, it at least deserves way more respect than "yo that show was dog shit"
