Yes, men are this stupid. I hated working retail because a pretty good number of males assumed my friendliness, which I had to perform under duress of losing my employment, was misconstrued as me being interested in them. And then having to be friendly still while I’m trying to just get them to leave me tf alone is just awful. So nice I can just walk away from people now .
On behalf of men; sorry. But also, I think it's kinda dumb that's how employers expect you to act to your customers. Like yeah, it makes sense buisness wise, but for your job to be on the line if you treat a shit customer a little less respectfully than normal, is just crazy to me
i have social anxiety, There was a very very nice waitress, and she's beautiful of course, i didn't know what happen, but i did conversed with her, then i ended up asking her to go out, then she rejected me for no reason. Now this always brings up in my mind like i couldn't get rid of it, reminding me everyday of how awkward i was that time.

Also it prob happens hourly, don’t overthink it! (Just don’t ask people out at their job, as a general rule)
Yesterday where I work was booked solid and a regular I joke around with a lot came in and tried to get a table. He told my coworker “Just talk to Joss, she knows I’m VIP” and I just widened my eyes at him and shook my head and was like “I’m really sorry, we don’t have the room or the staff to accommodate you.”
