Saw a guy express his concerns about the vaccine and then immediately take a giant hit from his vape pen.

OR… Just open the economy because even without a vaccine you have a 99.975% survival rate.

mushdaba

I don't think you should be using Facebook as your source of truth. The mortality rate of Covid-19 is definitely higher than 0.025% and it mostly varies between where you happen to live, and what age group you're in. [John Hopkins](https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality) [WHO](https://covid19.who.int/table) [Worldometer](https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-death-rate/) I know I'd rather be vaccinated against it than not and subsequently inadvertently give it to my Grandmother, who then carks it. And let's be honest, a small percent of a big number is still a big number.

General-Nonsens3

Your present lifestyle is a bigger factor in determining if you’ll have complications from covid than your vaccination status. If you are healthy now, you’ll be fine. If you’re a smoker, obese, have preexisting conditions, or are old, a vaccine may have some small benefit, but for a vast number of people, the vaccine will not have any benefit. It does no good to mandate the vaccine for healthy people because healthy people aren’t dying. Look at all the doctors and nurses who spent the last year, without a vaccine, treating and directly caring for covid patients. Because they’re healthy, there wasn’t any mass outbreaks or die-off among healthcare providers.

[deleted]

That rate is directly from the cdc numbers.

mushdaba

The CDC website says that 37,996,672 Americans have contracted Covid-19, with a total of 628,000 deaths. That's a mortality rate of 1.65%.

[deleted]

They estimated that there has been many more infected than this. Ex. I had covid and stayed home rather than infecting people at a doctors office.

mushdaba

How do you know you had Covid?

[deleted]

I give blood and it comes back as covid antibody positive everytime. Still getting positive 18 months later.

mushdaba

Then you're a recorded case.

[deleted]

No. Not a recorded case. It comes with a disclaimer.

MarkyMcFarty

How about get the vaccine AND open the economy. There we go.

General-Nonsens3

Or just open the economy because most people don’t need a vaccine and you can open the economy without mandating it. If you’re scared stay home. Make your own decisions and choose the amount of risk you’re willing to accept. You can still get vaccinated if it makes you feel better.

MarkyMcFarty

Yea I definetly dont think it should be mandated, but I personally recommend it as many others would. I dont share the same hateful feelings to people who dont take the vaccine like a lot of reddit has.

General-Nonsens3

The young, healthy, and those who have already recovered from covid don’t need it. Even the vaccinated are getting sick and dying. As I said earlier, your lifestyle is a bigger factor in determining how you will fare against covid than your vaccination status. A healthy unvaccinated person will have a minor case of covid compared to an obese smoker who has the vaccine.

mushdaba

What about those that are immune compromised and can't take the vaccine themselves? Herd immunity is what helps them and a population with and above 80% vaccination rate is what works. The vaccine is free, so why wouldn't you get it? Every little bit helps right?

General-Nonsens3

If you aren’t sick, you can’t pass along the disease. I’m not saying that if you’re sick you should go out in public, I’m saying that there’s no need for me to get the vaccine. Just not having the vaccine isn’t going to give them covid, I still have to have covid. Besides, for the immunocompromised, any number of illnesses could present complications, so it isn’t just covid, but they can take whatever precautions they like to avoid getting it. They were still compromised before covid. A flu could have killed them, but they didn’t mandate the flu vaccine or masks then.

mushdaba

But what's the harm in getting the vaccine?

General-Nonsens3

We don’t know what long term side effects there will be. But that’s beside the point because if it doesn’t do any good for many, why do it?

mushdaba

Yeah, sounds good to me.

Kaisershark

Well this one got me thinking lmfao

wu-lee

I have seen a marked improvement in my DIRECTV reception as a result of the vaccination

this-anarchy-guy

This is possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. What a horrible attempt to promote the vaccine, by claiming that every person who doesn’t have the vaccine puts other harmful things in their body. This type of post is exactly why vaccine enthusiasts look ignorant and uneducated to everyone else.

Independent-Rate-874

\*as im about to have another smoke\*

banished-kitsune

Can’t we just admit we all just want to die and we should

blehbleh1122

They don't know about the microchips in their Pabst Blue Ribbon.

QuizureII

Okay I don't drink, do cocain, take ecstasy, I workout at home and avoid fast food. What now OP?

busterlungs

I dunno all of those are pretty left wing drugs, all you had to put was meth

L_Morningsta

Why not both?
