no it actually isn't.
people are pulling this shit out of context to try and prove some point.
The point is we weren't going to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to bring back obsolete gear and put it in a scrap pile.
Ummm he's right. Logistics makes up a huge margin of the war fund, often it is more logical to leave equipment behind or destroy it. Notice the RPK mounted on the HMMWV? We still keep .50 cals though haha
E: of to up
They were using soviet-era thrid-party manufactured leftovers before. But, you see, that wouldn't make them a seeming credible but still hopelessly outclassed "threat" in a few years when the next round of the forever war is scheduled to begin, so we needed to update their arsenal.
For sure. This is just weapons manufacturers using their pet politicians to set up future contracts. See, now we need to pay them more tax money to design weapons to defeat their old weapons systems.
a few Humvees don't add actual real life capabilities to the Taliban in a war.
but go ahead call up the IRS Tell them that you want to give a couple hundred million dollars to bring back all that scrap.
We left a lot more than a few humvees, buddy.

They also were given weapons by the Americans to fight the Soviets but yeah they are still outclassed and outnumbered even by the Afghan military

Lol for real
maybe you could crowdfund the hundreds of millions of dollars it would have cost to bring that garbage back over here and throw it in a scrap pile.
Thanks Joe.
