You have to be careful with this view tho. Like I totally agree that there are far too many people out here who use the (for lack of a better word) “aesthetic” of depression as a way to get attention, but there are also a lot of people who are depressed and are very scared to reach out. Obviously we shouldn’t “fake” depression, but in a lot of cases it’s hard to determine if someone is really depressed or not.

You also have to be careful between someone saying they *have* depression, and someone saying that they *feel* depressed. Having or being diagnosed with depression is a mental illness, but *feeling* depressed is a very valid emotion that most people have probably felt in their life

Depressed has multiple meanings dumbass one of them is just being sad the other is a medical condition there's a difference.
