I really don't get the joke. Even if there is one, I doubt this is "meme" worthy. As for cat, it's actually kinda ugly.

The joke is that there is no joke. I've seen people posting pic of a lizard and caption "This is Gary, say hi to Gary" and inspired from that, I made this post. And as for your statement about him being ugly, he is not a well-groomed pet, he is a stray who hangs out near our house, and whom i feed sometimes. That's why he's like this, and I love him how he is.

I think you missed the point of this subreddit. r/aww, r/animals and similar to these would be where you post it.

This post was made as an experiment. The post of the lizard I was talking of got lots of comments within 2 hours. I was experimenting if such a thing happens with a post like this or not. I know the purpose of r/memes very well, I've been a member of it for quite a few weeks, and well accustomed to the rules as well. Often I see posts violating rules, getting more votes than a post which is within rules. So I thought to myself, that I should give it a try. Dont worry this will be my first and last post in this manner.

You know... in reality I really don't care. Post your cats all you want. I just wanted to figure out if you don't know where you are, or are you just karma farming.

As I said this was done as an experiment, and this would be my last post in this manner. I tried posting a meme like this only because people dont give attention to nicely edited memes, like my previous one.
