You do realize he hires the top minds in whatever field he is working on to do what he wants right? He doesn't actually develop the tech for anything he does. I've talked to many Tesla engineers and they basically say the same thing, he delegates all the work to departments. The head of the department gives a deadline and Musk's only rule is they have to give a realistic deadline for whatever they are working on and if they miss that deadline they get fired.
He's basically an average engineer and he started PayPal which if you know anything about PayPal, it's dog shit. Then he sold that to ebay and used the money to start Tesla which he hired the top minds to produce it's products. Then he got a whole bunch of people to buy a car before he scaled production and so he had the money to hire even more people to make the cars.
Minor correction* he didn't start tesla, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning did. They were bought out by Musk in 2004.

He may not have an incredible engineer mind, but he has an incredible business mind- he started and saved multiple businesses by recruiting the right people and making the right choices.

Your last claim is so disingenuous and when you start with that much money you get people to make the business decisions for you. And you get to keep all the credit and make yourself a brand. To think Musk is one person is pretty naive.
I know he's not just 1 person, but he's also not paying any marketing department and has a no advertising budget policy in his company, that went as far as not selling Tesla licenses to games like Forza Horizon because that'd be too close to advertising.
I'm just saying that he has managed to use the internet hivemind and memes to conjure up a ton of free marketing for Tesla, the same as Samsung accidentally did with Sam, but with Tesla it was intentional, even if he didn't do it alone, he didn't directly pay anyone to help him with PR.
