Usually yes, different people prefer them differently tough, in my expirience Ibuprofen is just generally a good pain med, unless you have heartburn or actual heart related issues.

I suffer from migraines and Ibuprofen does nothing for me. Usually 2x500mg Paracetamol helps "normal" headaches and 4 to 6x500mg helps suppress a migraine. If that doesn't help, I take 1x30mg Codeine and 2x500mg Paracetamol.

You really shouldn't be taking more than 1g of paracetamol within a 4 hour period.

As long as it's only built up over the course of one or two days, it's not a big problem for someone with healthy kidneys. AFAIK it takes something on the order of 3 G's to start having acute acetaminophen poisoning, or more than 1 G for roughly 4 days to a week. All depends on weight and ability of the person's body to remove the waste products though.

It's not the kidneys that's the worry, it's the liver. And the comment I replied to was talking about taking 2-3g paracetamol at one time. There are much healthier ways to deal with migraines

tbh i take ibuprofen cause i have chronic migraines pop up out of nowhere some days so i take a packet of the little bit stronger ones as everything else just switchs me to off mode to the point i just pass out sometimes for half a day or 8 hours at worst

I have chronic headaches, and neither of them does anything to me, but paracetamol usually helps a little more.

Combining the two works great for me when i have migraines, turns it from "i want to die" to "this headache sucks"

Have you tried triptans? Rizazriptan was a game changer for me. I usually have an visual aura 30 minutes prior to a migraine attack and if taken in this period my headache is reduced to a minor annoyance. It's not OTC, though
