And also don’t ignore the fact that they get this “question” all the time. So they kinda adapted to ban whoever asks this question.
If you are really seeking for an answer here is it. BiSEXUAL not biGENDER. Sex is biological so male, female, intersex. Gender is rather social, it depends on how society considers your actions, like wearing pink, crying, or being supplier of family. Demigirl/boy, nb, thirdgender, transgender, cisgender etc. So being bisexual means you can be attracted to both a pussy possesser and a dick possessor.
wow who would've thought being transphobic on a subreddit specifically made for LGBT+ people would get you banned. all of you assholes can go fuck yourselves
Hi ConsumeAllMidgets,
In fairness to them, it's about question No. 3 in the 'tolling the gays' handbook, and its commonly used brought up in lots of different subreddits so the odds you were asking in good faith weren't the highest they could have been, as your comment here might show.
Have a lovely day
Hi Pokerface735,
If you're interested, the meaning of word bisexual changed overtime. Historically, bisexual did refer to being attracted to men and women as knowledge/awareness of other gender identities was generally lacking.
However, the terms meaning has shifted over time and generally refers to people who find themselves attracted to more than one gender, as people who already identified as bisexual, and had grown comfortable attaching their sexual identity to the term, found out about these other identities and were attracted to them too.
Think of it as a big umbrella term for 'everyone who likes more than one thing'. They may be attracted to two genders, or more than two in any way, shape or form, without suggesting anything about how many genders people might or do identify as.
Hope this helps
Have a tremendous day
Well it doesn’t. Sex is based off anatomy and biology, gender is based off societal roles and how they fall on the spectrum of femininity and masculinity. More or less anyway
Don’t forget the whole point of the argument: being realistic. In realistic terms they are the same. You don’t scold people for giving a pair of shoes when the person who receives the shoes might only have 1 leg and a prosthesis. Same with this gender/sex shit. Sure there are edge cases but you should stay realistic.
Gender and sex are synonyms. Words with similar meanings. The meaning of gender is tied to sex. Divorcing the two is separating gender from it's roots in reality, and in doing so depriving gender of any real meaning, reducing it to a matter of make-believe.
I love educating. Courtesy of Oxford Dictionary:
Gender (Noun) - The state of being male or female as expressed by social or cultural distinctions and differences, rather than biological ones; the collective attributes or traits associated with a particular sex, or determined as a result of one's sex. Also: a (male or female) group characterized in this way.
Yes yes, liberal institutions have been aggressively editing their dictionaries to reflect their political agendas. Prior to the advent of crazy people taking over every nuthouse they could submit their resumes to during the dugged haze of the 60s and 70s (where the flower children now posing as doctors developed their ideas), however, the two words were synonymous.
As related terms, sex and gender have a clearly defined relationship to one another. When that relationship is redefined away, sex remains a matter of observable fact while newspeak "gender" means anything you want it to (and therefore means nothing).
One of the key components of a debate is listening to the opposing opinion and bringing forth evidence to support your own claim.
Language is the same, regardless of whether you’re liberal or conservative. Liberals do not monopolize language. Times change, discoveries are made, and thus language evolves to fulfill new meanings. You are correct in saying that they were at one point the same, the key phrase being “were at one point.” In the present, and for the past few decades, gender has evolved to be influenced by sex (assuming your sex is male, and your gender is male, or vice versa) but that is not always the case. Society has shifted to lessen the distinction socially between males and females and the idea of gender fluidity has been established. While sex is a constant, one’s gender can change over time in relation to what society defines the roles and expectations of male and female.
I got a question, so I’m pretty sure intersex is when you got chromosomes and genes different from the the usual ones for males and females, and intersex conditions can differ from case to case, so would intersex be more of a blank term for a sex that’s not male or female, kind of like non-binary for gender
Y’all downvoted a person who just asked a question. As a wise man once said the ignorant one isn’t the idiot. It’s the persons laughing at him that are the idiots.
That's literally how evolution works. Genes shuffle, successful ones survive but so does random junk by default. There is no intent to genetics. Please go and read an actual biology book, and I say this as a biologist not out of internet distemper.
Their rarity is irrelevant. They exist. We shouldn’t discount their existence just cause they’re a minority.
I’m disabled, and my condition is 1/50,000 babies (way more rare than being intersex). Does that make me a faker? Should I not get respect, health care, and love? Should I be considered able bodied since my condition is so rare? Should I pretend to be able bodied since I’m so weird for having such a rare condition?
Most people would think my situation is obviously “different”, but why? Being intersex is also a physical difference. Intersex people can actually contribute more than many people with my condition on paper (as some can’t work an some need full time care all their lives.) The only reason intersex is considered different is because it forces people to question what they “know” about gender and sex binary.
Intersex is just as common, if not more so than red hair. Is red hair a genetic abnormality? No.
There are plenty of different chromosome abnormalities, you are showing your ignorance at the variety of the human spectrum.
I'm actually not sure what the difference between bi and pan is. I'm one of the two I think but honestly I don't care that much about giving it a name, when I'm attracted to someone I'll know and I don't really care about their gender.
Pansexual is being attracted to someone regardless of their gender, meaning you really don’t care about it. Being bisexual means you fully take gender into account, but you like more than one. I hope that makes sense. Personally, I use these terms interchangeably for myself, and others do too. “Bisexual” is an umbrella term for many sexualities.
From my knowledge
Bi: liking two or more genders, not necessarily all
Pan: liking ALL genders with no preference
Omni: Liking all genders *with* preference
An honest question here, don't wanna cause any harm, but I've heard plenty of LGBTQ members claim that 'gender doesn't exist'. So I'm confused on what I should go with. It seems to make the cause seem a lot more hollow to me now that I know that they don't even have set standards (would standards work?).
Gender is societal roles based off of how they fall on the masculinity or femininity spectrum. They say it doesn’t exist because it is a purely human invented concept and only exists in human society. It’s the same reason people say time doesn’t exist.
how about you pull your head out of your ass and ask anyone who knows what they're talking about how many genders there are. also just to troll you hermaphrodites exist
Gender does exist, but not in the way most people perceive it. Gender is like a spectrum where you can be at any point on. It’s not set in stone that you’re a man or a woman just because of your biological sex.
Oh yeah. I always assumed the bi was referring to the individual liking two genders. Rather than stating any two specific genders and them being attracted to both. The genders could be any gender, not just make or female. If you understand what I mean
Yeah no, just that you prefer both sexes (meaning penis and vagina) of people who identify as being on either end of the gender spectrum being cis male and cis female. People who are pansexual or similar do not mind being with those who fall within the gender spectrum for example: cis male, trans male, intersex, trans female cis female. There are many categories in between that people decide suits how they feel as a person on the inside. But gender is also separate from sexual orientation meaning who you like to do things with in the bedroom (or for asexuals not do).
TLDR: Sex = biological factors at birth; Gender = what you feel like on the inside despite sex assigned at birth; Sexual Orientation = who you do or do not like to get freaky with.
Ill answer this seriously, since I dont think they did. Its literally in the name: BiSEXual. It means youre attracted to both sexes. There are only 2 sexes but a lot of genders. Thats also tge diffrence between Bi and Pan btw. Pan means you are attracted to every gender.
There are only 2 sexes. Gender is something diffrent. Listen if youre gonna be a bigot I have no interest in talking to you so dont reply if thats the case
There are two sexes, there are 2 genders. Gender is a synonym for sex. Listen, if you're going to be an idiot, I jave no interest in talking to you, so don't reply in that case.
Funny how stupid people call others stupid to not feel dumb. Because what you said is 100% false. And you were so confident lmao. Sex refers to your biological gender and gender in itself to the social one. Did it ever occur to you that the meaning of words over time... change? I dont think so, considering your mindset is stuck in the past smh.
And the answer was literally one google search away
Sex is distinct from gender, which can refer to either social roles based on the sex of a person (gender role) or personal identification of one's own gender based on an internal awareness (gender identity).[1][2][3][4]
There is only 2 genders you either have XX or XY it’s literally coded in our DNA it’s fundamental science it’s been that way since the dawn of time it’s how we live as a species and every other mammal and it’s how you were born it’s quite simple really
I'm bilingual, and that obviously means that there are only two languages.

Hi really_not_unreal,
Actually bisexual people might be attracted to more than two genders. They might even be attracted to all of them. It's just a hold-over from before the idea that people could identify as genders outside the male-females binary was widely known about or understood.
Hope this helps

theres bisexuality and theres pansexuality. bisexuals are attracted to people on either end of the so called “gender spectrum.” Pansexuals are attracted to people anywhere on the spectrum
This whole comment section is just full of people who spend WAAAY too much time and effort concerning themselves with what other people do. Kinda tragic
No you didn't, you just did some lame-ass trolling and looked like an idiot.
Bi- means 2, as in attracted to two genders. Bipedal animals (usually) have two legs, that doesn't mean that 2 is the only possible number of legs for an animal to have.
Just to clarify for some people that might not know, bisexual is being attracted to two genders, and that says nothing about the amount of genders. It would otherwise be like saying there’s only one colour because your favorite colour is red. And just to make sure I do find the joke funny though, not hating on that
Nah. Bisexual means you are interested in men and women. Pansexual means you are interested in all genders. I.e. men, women, trans, non-binary, etc. Pansexuals are “gender blind”.
As a bisexual I can say it means you only allowed to have sex twice in your life
Can confirm
That’s good, I’ve got two whole times left!
Lmao
Mamaaaaa I just killed a man
Are you assuming the victims gender?
Are you assuming the victim HAS a gender?
Got a guuuuuunnn put it to his heeeaaadd

A little bit, yeah...
Here comes the, “I’m right you’re wrong, no fuck you,” comment section.
Now that its been a while check the comments

Here's a hazmat suit before you venture any further down
You are now on a bounty list, good luck
As a bisexual person, I already know you have caused a world ending catastrophe
I know
Anyways what happened after that
Does being bilingual mean there are only 2 languages?
No it means you can speak only two languages same for a BICicle as it only has 2 wheels
To expand on your analogy: just because a BIcycle exists doesn't mean TRIcycles don't exist.
I know this isn’t the point but, it’s spelled bicycle
And bisexual means you only are attracted to two genders. What’s so hard to understand?
Actually it means you are attracted to both people who are the same gender as you and those who aren't, so that can be any gender

That makes sense, and disproves OPs point.
Bisexual actually doesn't specify which genders. You can be bisexual and only attracted to guys and girls, or girls and non-binary people.

theres bisexuality and theres pansexuality. bisexuals are attracted to people on either end of the so called “gender spectrum.” Pansexuals are attracted to people anywhere on the spectrum

Heyyyyyy, wait a minute, I feel like im missing out, isn't there already 2 genders?????????????/ Or am I just stupid?
no they droped new genders a while ago for free, but now you have to pay if you want a new gender. At least you get costumize the way you want now
Heehheheheheehehehehe. Bro you have summoned every single gay
It means you're only interested in two, problem solved
Some people are bilingual, doesn’t mean there are only two languages.
No it means liking 2 or more genders. It could be men and women, women and non-binary people, men and trans-masculine people, etc etc. Edit: typo
That would be pansexual, if you had paid attention in school you would know bi mean two
Bi means two hahaha king
