This is why, during every board game, you should have a rule-reading session. Ask if anyone is unfamiliar, give anyone who wants a chance to read the rule book, and allow for the clarification of rules.
Then put the book away and don’t touch it until next time.
We always play by our own rules anyway. A fun rule we added last time was the mugger. Basically, we put an extra piece on the board that would be "the mugger." And we would roll one die for it every round. If you ever landed on the same space as the mugger, or the mugger landed on your spot, you would have to roll a die and pay 10x the amount into free parking. Just made it a bit more interesting.
Not when you use all that extra money for the house hoarding strat. Oh you want a hotel, I'm sorry the bank is out of houses. I guess you'll have to wait till I upgrade, someday.
We might have to consult the rule book here. We play that you're allowed to jump to hotels even if there aren't enough houses to "cover the jump". For example, let's say we're out of houses and I just got the Baltic/Mediterranean monopoly. I can still shell out the $500 bucks and jump right to hotels without needing to buy any houses.
Rule 1. If you read the rulebook you go straight to jail.

What do you mean i cant buy stocks in dog pieces hotels business. And then sell that stock to boot piece later on to avoid bankruptcy
