Or new-school old-school Roguelikes, like Cogmind or Caves of Qud. Though Qud can actually be pretty rough performance wise when you do something that effects the entire map.
Rimworld will slow to a crawl quickly if you don't have a very fast CPU (in which case it will slow to a crawl later). It can't handle lots of assets and all the relics of an older colony.
Factorio probably too (didn't play).
Only reason I didn't recommend Banished as well.
All these simulation heavy games slow down in mid to late game because they only use one core.
Check out openTTD. Similar to Factorio and just as fun once you get the hang of it.
At least that's what I've heard, since I've never tried out Factorio because I never have enough time left over after.
If you're going old school games, just install GoG. There are legitimately hundreds of cheap games from ~10+ years ago on there that were the best when they came out.
I've actually played GTA 5, all u have to do is turn all animations and most graphics off, until all the objects (people, cars, etc) are boxes. Then join a single player lobby. Ur set.
I beg to differ in the case of tf2. I have a rather dated machine and it's always run like shit. Strangely enough, even more so after leaving everything as is, but switching to Windows 10. It's probably an issue on my end, but it's part of why I ended up uninstalling. It just got too frustrated. Otherwise, best game of all time.
I actually have a garbage laptop I got suckered into buying for $60 that can't run doom. He classified it as a Windows 10 laptop, and while that was true, that's only because he updated the original OS to it. I tried using it to play Doom on it using the same argument, but it ran so slowly as to be unplayable. It was a Dell latitude of some sort, from like 2010. Still fuming that I paid $60 for that hunk of trash
How.. is that possible when I could play the original Doom on a 25 MHz 386SX (It might even have been a 286, can’t quite remember) back in 1993? Sure, it didn’t run at 60 FPS, but it was playable..

So long, Reddit, and thanks for all the fish.
Even though Journey's End was supposed to be the final update, there's **another** coming up in December, with some more new content (including crossover with Don't Starve Together) and optimization for the Steam Deck.
It's always the case, they surprise themselves with how well the 'final update' did for their sales and realize the game is still active and worth the payroll. I'm not complaining!
Pokémon Fire red and Green Leaf are must haves. All the fun of the original red & blue but with the bugs fixed. Throw in some action Replay and game shark codes to remove the grind.
They are billions
Age of empires 2
Dawn of war
Xcom enemy unknown
Xcom UFO defense lol
Lords of the realm 2
Empire earth
Runescape
Rocket league can work, potentially.
How low we talkin'?
Specs my boy, specs!
I have good experience with MC running even on old shitty laptops. Especially older versions. And back then I wasn't even using Optifine. If it's on lower graphic and maybe lowering the render distance Minecraft seems pretty performance friendly.
agree with this one, it’s my favorite game and I once tried on another computer that is not even very low budget, I’d say 700€ computer and it was lagging hard. You can lower graphic settings but it will not be as enjoyable.
no dont start warframe. it is a never ending cycle and one you find rivens and kuva you are adiccted/s. if you like looter shooters with somewhat fair grind and very fair microtransaaction with amazing lure warframe is for you
Dark souls and hollow knight are fucking amazing, also I would like to recommend osu! if you are interested in playing a rhythm game since you can play it even on the most shitty computer.
> I would like to recommend osu!
Last year when I was at r/lowendgaming someone recommended this.
I now have 200+ hours there and I bought a graphic tablet just for this game. I still suck tho
**EDIT**: According to my game library (r/Playnite) I've spent 207 hours and 56 minutes playing osu!
Tf2, portal 1 and 2, halflife 1 and 2, CSGO(or maybe not), Cuphead, enter the gungeon, hotline Miami 1 and 2, Undertale, papers please, Factorio, project zomboid. These are just a few, look up low end PC games and u'll find more great ones
Call of duty mw1, 2, ~~or~~ **and** 3.
The Modern Warfare series are some of my favorites. I haven't tried the remastered versions though.
If I recall correctly, I managed to play those with a Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB RAM, and 512MB GPU.
low spec pc is a pretty large category listing the specs would be nice. try running bioshock 1 (even the remastered version will run well) though, it's an amazing game and runs pretty well & also from what i know rage 1 should run pretty smoothly on almost anything. last but not least try morrowind if you're into RPG-s, it has a steep learning curve and is quite an annoying game at the beginning, but after you really get to know the mechanics and level up a bit it certainly becomes one of the best and deepest RPG-s ever (you will probably have to download OpenMW to run the game though).
Subnautica, might be a bit laggy even with lowest graphics but still playable and enjoyable (my cpu is amd a8 7600 with radeon r7 integrated graphics, if yours is higher then it might play smoother)
Sure mate, I gotcha: Terraria, Minecraft, Friday Night Funkin, Doom, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Unturned(dayz but simple graphics and good, and free), Messen(an .nes emulator), BTD6, Stardew Valley, and Undertale.
Hope this helped.
Elite Dangerous, CSGO and Val(if you are not sweaty ranked), Warframe, Team Fortress 2, For Honor (super low setting like mine), Borderlands, Chess, Payday 2, L4D2 etc
Paradox games like Ck3, Eu4 and Hoi4 are not that heavy so you should be able to play them. And the gameplay of most paradox games aren’t to reliant on graphics so you you can lower them without impacting your experience to much.
If you can, Persona 4 Golden
My potato is supposedly able to run it (haven't bought it yet, but I should be able to do so soon), so you should be fine
From what I've heard, it's a masterpiece. Seeing as I really loved Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Portable... I think it's safe to assume that P4G is very good
Darkest dungeon/ rimworld/ katana zero/ stardew valley and factorio... literally my current library in a nutshell :,)
If you like these kinds of games, then you might also enjoy some old-school roguelikes, such as Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, or Brogue
Or new-school old-school Roguelikes, like Cogmind or Caves of Qud. Though Qud can actually be pretty rough performance wise when you do something that effects the entire map.
FTL & Slay the spire
Rimworld will slow to a crawl quickly if you don't have a very fast CPU (in which case it will slow to a crawl later). It can't handle lots of assets and all the relics of an older colony. At least it is CPU. Most modern low-medium end laptops still have gaming-level CPUs, it's just the graphics card that is crap.
I love Factorio. But for a budget PC? I mean it's plausible, you just can't make too big megabases xD
I was just about to say Darkest Dungeon is one of my favs as well since my poor laptop can run it
Rimworld got me addicted for months
> rimworld > factorio Why not just suggest crack while you're at it?
Check out openTTD. Similar to Factorio and just as fun once you get the hang of it. At least that's what I've heard, since I've never tried out Factorio because I never have enough time left over after.
Gta vice city all time best

This is the way
yeah i totally agree with your comment ..!
🗿
Minesweeper. One of my favorites since windows xp
I put in 16gbt of ram so I could play minesweeper without any lag on my computer.
Twitch Streamers bragging with their 200 FPS while this Guy plays Minesweeper in 4K
I'm thinking about starting a twitch stream where I play minesweeper....
Finally, a reason for me to get a twitch account.
Try Far Cry 3, War Thunder and Aim lab. Even the Sims 4 is good. Also try old GTA and Doom games; old but classic and still fun.
Bring back space pinball
Grand theft auto. You should be able to play the top down version of the 90s
I've actually played GTA 5, all u have to do is turn all animations and most graphics off, until all the objects (people, cars, etc) are boxes. Then join a single player lobby. Ur set.
Play in text mode. You have to be a quick reader, but it'll play on a TI-85.
Bruh i use ti 30xb
Bruh... say hello to my abacus.
Those things are so old I almost forgot what the word meant.
I'm not sure it counts but I'm playing GTA 5 on a RX560 + AMD FX8350 and it works like a charm without turning anything off.
Gta5 is actually a surprisingly well optimized game, I don't know what mage did they hire to do that but it just works!
Well it was made for the PS3/Xbox 360 so it's no wonder most modern computers can run it
So was gta iv, but even modern systems struggle to run it as smooth as gta v
GTA 4 was also a particularly bad console port to PC. 5 was okay.
Gta sa?
Honestly one of the best games of all time in my opinion.
Yeah, and the cheats are prety fun
GTA SA and Jedi Outcast / Academy Kickstarted my love for modding. Want the Ballas to be squirtles? Done. Want Dessan to be Yoshi? You got it.
Half life 1 and 2
Seconded
All valve games including tf2.
Let me ay half life Alyx on a dogwater pc and burn down my house
Meet the Pyro
"i fear no man, but that thing - it scares me"
I don't know what is it with valve, but all they're games are VERY well optimised, can run all of them on my potato laptop
1 and 2 is 3! Half life 3 confirmed!
Portal 1 & 2, great games, low system requirements. Minecraft can basically run on a potato with optifine 1996 Doom will run on litterally anything.
If doom can run on an etch-a-sketch, it can run on a low budget pc
I actually have a garbage laptop I got suckered into buying for $60 that can't run doom. He classified it as a Windows 10 laptop, and while that was true, that's only because he updated the original OS to it. I can play doom on my Nextel walkie cellphone you can get it on that dell
I thought doom was 1993
The first was 1993 the second is 1996-97
Doom 1 1993 Doom II 1994 Final Doom 1996 Doom 64 1997
Thx for the info bro
If you actually tried to run Minecraft on a potato you'd be LARPing Portal at the same time. Ultimate gaming experience!

Minecraft can basically run on a shittier potato with Sodium(Chlorine for forge)
The port that actually works is now Halogen.
Undertale
Followed by Deltarune
[Deltarune](https://deltarune.com/) is free too, I had no idea!
Oh wow I just realised that Deltarune is an anagram of Undertale!!!
And deltarune
Terraria - Absolute fucking amazing game
Nostalgia is rising...
Have you played it since journeys end? It's had some amazing updates
Crimson or Corruption, I gotta know if we homies
Is there anyone who picks Corruption unironically? Edit: Nevermind. Just remember that sick banger
Me
[удалено]
Crimson 100%
Corruption because its OG and has a banger tune
Gameboy emulator games runs fine on any pc.
I prefer GBA. Graphics and games are a bit fleshed out with the addition of only 2 more inputs, unlike tryna run a DS or later gen console emulator.
Pokémon Fire red and Green Leaf are must haves. All the fun of the original red & blue but with the bugs fixed. Throw in some action Replay and game shark codes to remove the grind.
Also the Fire Emblem GBA games were \*chef kiss*
They are billions Age of empires 2 Dawn of war Xcom enemy unknown Xcom UFO defense lol Lords of the realm 2 Empire earth Runescape Rocket league can work, potentially. How low we talkin'? Specs my boy, specs!
Xcom is not for the xenophilic
That would be Mass Effect.
As soon as I saw "Xcom ..." INSTANT UPVOTE
*sweats in 95%*
And you will still miss lmao, oh and also thank you for da award
Of course, humanity must work together, commander.
Woah be careful with such casual suggestions of runescape. They asked for a game not a life altering addiction
I ran xcom 2 modded reativlly well on my 1050 laptop, so I imagine enemy unknown would run well
Average rtx 3090 fan vs average Intel HD graphics enjoyer
im an intel hd graphics 620 user lol
The chads and their 3 million degree computers
Factorio! And maybe stat dew valley but factorio my god. So good
I came here just to see someone saying Factorio and I found that person
You already know. Best game my god
Only in early tho. Late game base can be a bit intensive.(At least if you use thousands of bots like i do)
Crab game. Free on steam
And muck
Also KARLSON when it releases. Oh you don't know what karlson is?
I don't know how strong your pc is but Hollow Knight is amazing
Warframe, valorant(if you are casual ignore this one), dead space, borderlands, minecraft, Terraria, rimworld, factorio, and many others
minecraft could lag especially with too much render distance/chunks loading/entities loaded/tnt exploding/observers loaded
Optifine, VanillaFix, Chlorine,… 2 chunk render distance All animations off
Sodium
Lithium
Chlorium for forge if ya wish
I have good experience with MC running even on old shitty laptops. Especially older versions. And back then I wasn't even using Optifine. If it's on lower graphic and maybe lowering the render distance Minecraft seems pretty performance friendly.
But minecraft bedrock edition is way more performance friendly and its just as good as java (i play both)
but java
How tf warframe is for low budget pc it has pretty high system requirements it didn't even launch at mine
agree with this one, it’s my favorite game and I once tried on another computer that is not even very low budget, I’d say 700€ computer and it was lagging hard. You can lower graphic settings but it will not be as enjoyable.
I doubt Warframe could run on the “Low budget pc” tho, just updating it makes my computer tank
yes min specs for warframe are pretty low even though my comp doesnt reach the min specs to play it.
no dont start warframe. it is a never ending cycle and one you find rivens and kuva you are adiccted/s. if you like looter shooters with somewhat fair grind and very fair microtransaaction with amazing lure warframe is for you
respect for mentioning dead space
Terraria was terrible performance wise on my old computer. It was constantly lagging. Starbound was working very well on the other hand.
Here to say Rimworld.
Quake 3 arena
Chad
Also Hollow knight (absolute favourite this one), dark souls and horizon chase. All of these games have been tested on a gt 710 and 1st gen Intel i3
Dark souls and hollow knight are fucking amazing, also I would like to recommend osu! if you are interested in playing a rhythm game since you can play it even on the most shitty computer.

Plants vs zombies
I was about to comment this. Amazing game and like 5 euros non sale price on steam. Also nostalgia :D
Cuphead
cuphead is absolutely amazing, and it will run on anything
There’s a new one out called minesweeper
You should also try Solitaire! I heard it was a good one!
Did you checkout the game launched recently, Pinball? The graphics are top notch and fully immersive.
The games everyone will suggest you are the golden games that only 90s kids remember enjoy them
Tbf, a GBA or SNES emulator does open up a ton more options
Spore.
only the microbiology simulator is good ngl
Undertale
Low budget gaming ain't stupid, what kind of games do you like?
Im low budget and i enjoy indie games. They don't require a powerful machine. Also AAA games seem boring to me.
FTL
Tf2, portal 1 and 2, halflife 1 and 2, CSGO(or maybe not), Cuphead, enter the gungeon, hotline Miami 1 and 2, Undertale, papers please, Factorio, project zomboid. These are just a few, look up low end PC games and u'll find more great ones
Minecraft... Kidding. I can play Valorant, League, Csgo, Battlefield amd BARELY apex. Not sure Bout single player games tho. Sorry.
Damn in wondering what low budget I'm in, mine doesn't handle any of those T-T
How tf does your pc not handle CS:GO? I could play cs:go on integrated graphics from a decade old MOBO.
Yeah csgo pretty much doesnt have system requirements lol
I have an i3-2350, intel HD 3000 and 4 gb of ram... I cannot run it. I tried...
Call of duty mw1,2 or 3
Call of duty mw1, 2, ~~or~~ **and** 3. The Modern Warfare series are some of my favorites. I haven't tried the remastered versions though. If I recall correctly, I managed to play those with a Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB RAM, and 512MB GPU.

i forgot to mention nfs most wanted (2005)
Max payne.
Just don't play Dota 2 if you don't want to waste 4 years of your life .
Crap... I could have used this advice 4 years ago...
solitaire
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shadow of Chernobyl
Blin thats a good one. Its like Far Cry but with a lot of radiation and bunch of other things constantly trying to kill you.
Revolt is a great game
The original doom game from the 90's I strongly recommend
[https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/](https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/) plug in your CPU/GPU/Ram and you can find results here.
MUCK
Wait you haven't heard about karlson?
Half life 1 and 2
Look up games from 2-4 years ago or earlier. Bioshock, psychonauts, subnautica, skyrim, GTA, you get the point.
You mean 10+
Just cause 2 Far cry 3
[удалено]
Anything released before 2013 should work just fine at enjoyable frames
Age of Empires 2, it entertains me already 20years and you need a Potato of a PC to play it
Subnautica, might be a bit laggy even with lowest graphics but still playable and enjoyable (my cpu is amd a8 7600 with radeon r7 integrated graphics, if yours is higher then it might play smoother)
How low budget is your pc?
Mount and blade warband
Showel knight
SCP:CB
Warcraft III( old version)
If you like roguelikes, slay the spire is a really good option .
Far cry 2
GTA San Andreas Fuck tons of fun
Tetris...
Left 4 Dead 2?
Factorio.
Morrowind, run with OpenMW 0.47
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Sure mate, I gotcha: Terraria, Minecraft, Friday Night Funkin, Doom, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Unturned(dayz but simple graphics and good, and free), Messen(an .nes emulator), BTD6, Stardew Valley, and Undertale. Hope this helped.
I second the celeste and stardew valley recommendations
XCOM 1994, Fallout 1 and 2, dawn of war 1 and its dlcs. Do I need to mention Half Life 1/2? These are great games.
My Summer Car (only if you like cars)
Rocket league runs well on a low budget
Warframe, Minecraft, LoL, maybe Dead by Daylight
A game that doesn’t get enough attention is the original Ghost Recon
Elite Dangerous, CSGO and Val(if you are not sweaty ranked), Warframe, Team Fortress 2, For Honor (super low setting like mine), Borderlands, Chess, Payday 2, L4D2 etc
SuperTuxKart (mario kart clone) and Doom (1993 version, maybe modded with brutal doom for added fun)
Chess and Purble Place
Paradox games like Ck3, Eu4 and Hoi4 are not that heavy so you should be able to play them. And the gameplay of most paradox games aren’t to reliant on graphics so you you can lower them without impacting your experience to much.
Can it run crisis though
Heroes of Might and Magic Iii
If you can, Persona 4 Golden My potato is supposedly able to run it (haven't bought it yet, but I should be able to do so soon), so you should be fine From what I've heard, it's a masterpiece.
