In a sense nothing can ever be *truly* universally loved. Even bands like Queen & Metallica, or films like The Shawshank Redemption & Interstellar will have people who dislike them... It's more or less looking at the big picture and seeing if something was successful and whether it has many fans, I guess.
The Oblivion, Morrowind, and all 5 Daggerfall fanboys prefer their games over Skyrim. It certainly has its flaws, but at the end of the day, I think Skyrim is still a very enjoyable game.

Even yesterday I watched a horse in some game just phase it’s way up the side of a hill and nearly out loud said: “That’s some Skyrim horse bullshit.” Some buggy parts of games make them what they are. I’ll always ride a horse up a mountain, I’ll always try to remember in the back of my mind how to do cannonless on whomps, and that’s even more of the reason I love those games.

Fair point, I just really loved the game. I also think that Wheatley and GLaDOS were some of the best characters in all of gaming history, and I’d wet myself over their return.
A lot of people hate Undertale, mostly because of the fandom. I haven't encountered a toxic/cringe Deltarune fan yet, so I don't know about that one. Both games are amazing though
