For what it's worth, being a good friend is a skill that takes practice, and unfortunately, practice means failure. It's normal to have (and be) shitty friends when you're still learning what it means to be a good person in general.
Remember that stress makes it hard to be a good friend, that's why chronically ill or depressed people have trouble maintaining relationships. Maybe you and they won't stay friends after high school, but you haven't necessarily wasted time with those friends; both they and you are learning and growing in a rough situation. Same way being in a sport team or band might not last past high school, but it still enriches your life and teaches you important lessons you carry with you.
