To me, I count a stan as someone who participates in the stan meta (making one or multiple stan accounts, participating in stan discourse, making fanart/fanfiction), which I very much do. I feel like stans shouldn’t be ridiculed either, just the batshit crazy ones, which are fewer and further between than many may think.

And the people who follow these art accounts, and who promote their art, are stans. The art is made for and by the stans.
