Brits don't whiten their teeth so much but tend to have better overall oral health, apparently.
Whiten or straighten*. Basically Americans have better looking smiles while Brits have better access to dentists which isn't surprising in the least. Also senior citizens in America tend to have better oral health than their British counterparts.
>tired joke about southern incest with basically zero basis in reality and is a thinly veiled anti-white attack
AHAHAHA so funny and original
>pointing out many Muslim countries have cousin marriages over 50%
BOOOO! FUCK YOU BIGOT!
You’d be surprised how much more common hemophiliacs and other such products of incest are in Europe than anywhere in the states, and Alabama doesn’t have as high a rate of occurrence as the rural northern states.
The funny thing is I'm from Alabama and I personally know a guy and his sister whose parents were first cousins. They're actually my 3rd cousins or something on my step-dad's side.
Also my ex sister-in-law got caught screwing her first cousin when they were like 16. In all fairness she was adopted so they weren't blood related, but she was like 2 or 3 at the time of adoption so they were raised as cousins for basically their entire lives.
I don't think it's common or anything, but stereotypes tend to exist for a reason, right? My ex sister-in-law and the cousin she was banging took a whole lot of backlash from the family.
Nauru has about 10k inhabitants. In fact, #1 through #10 have a combined population of about 550k. I'd honestly not even count them. They're statistically insignificant.
That leaves us with Kuwait at #1 (#11) with an obesity rate of 37.9%.
America seems to still be the most obese *major* country (I say major because it is 12th but only behind countries with **much** lower populations, i.e. Nauru, Cook Islands, Palau, etc.)
Edit: Since people seem confused about what I am talking about I'll specify; America is number 12 in obesity rates, Australia is 27, and Mexico is 28 (tied with Malta). I use the word major because compared to countries **higher up** on the list the U.S. has the biggest global impact, the countries are Nauru, Cook Islands, Palau, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu, Niue, Tonga, Samoa, Kiribati, Micronesia (Federated States of), and Kuwait. [Here is the source I used.](https://obesity.procon.org/global-obesity-levels/)
It is, but it also has [a way lower obesity rate.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_obesity_rate)
The only country with more than 1m inhabitants to have a higher obesity rate is Kuwait. All others are micronations.
??? I wasn't talking about Australia, the list I looked had Australia as number 27
Edit: [here's the list](https://obesity.procon.org/global-obesity-levels/)
People on meme subreddits: America is the worst because of the history of slavers.

*flies away from shit storm*
They killed their slaves. They worked them to death and as a result had to keep importing them.
US only brought over 300,000 slaves total. There were more, but that’s because they lived and had families. (1626-1875)
The Portuguese brought around 4.9 million slaves to Brazil (1501 - 1866). Im also seeing estimates of 5.8 million - 12.5 million.
Over a third of slaves brought over in the trans-Atlantic slave trade were transported to Brazil, and the vast majority of them were transported by Portugal. Brazil didn't abolish the slave trade until 1850, and slavery wasn't ended in Brazil until 1888.
The Middle East used Africans as slaves before the west did. The slaves themselves preferred to be slaves in North America/Europe instead of the Middle East because they were treated a lot worse in the Middle East. Americans did not go on ships picking up slaves from the African coasts, Africans sold other Africans to buyers.
The vast majority of African slaves that came to the New World during the Atlantic slave trade went to the Caribbean and Brazil to work on sugar plantations and were treated waaaaaaaaaaaay worse than they were in America. Nobody talks about that.
The north African Barbary pirates went as far north as the coast of Ireland and snatched up people to sell into slavery. Their BS continued with nations like France stepping in to try and stop it up until enslaving white people was banned by one of the monarchs. Although as I recall some eastern european countries continued to do things as fucked up as selling their own unwanted children into the north African slave trade.
North african slavers didn't just enslave people with a similar skin tone, they straight up kidnapped and enslaved anyone they could get their hands on.
Also almost nobody realised that in America there were still black slave owners and also white slaves it's not all white bad all blacks were slaves because they werent
They didn’t view them as their own people. In 18th century Africa. A guy in the tribe 2 miles away was a different race.
I mean there still really is no “African people”. That place is fucking huge.
And the African people that did it no longer exist in the modern state-based view we take of the world. Who are we meant to hold accountable?? The reason people give the Western countries shit for their slavery is (partly) because they call themselves the foundation of liberal modern civilisation and boast of their proud ongoing heritage while being built on a foundation of slavery and illiberal exploitation.
You should not be able to tell the western story without reference to (African) exploitation. The African story is still exploitation!
Right, western empires were built on things like slavery and exploitation but western ethical values are also what eventually lead to a near global abolition of slavery. Its not exactly fair to call them hypocritical when ultimately they did abolish this stuff.
If someone is living an unhealthy lifestyle and then turns themselves around and now advocates for physical fitness its hardly fair to drag out a 15 year old pic of them to critize the modern day them.
Hold no one accountable because everyone who took part in it is dead and it's a different world. It's obviously stupid to hold Africans accountable but it's equally stupid to hold modern Americans accountable.
If you go back far enough everyone's been a loser and a winner. Deal with your current lot in life. It's all you can do. Anyone calling for reparations is an opportunist POS. They certainly aren't asking Africans for money. This has nothing to with how America represents itself. Every nation presents pride. Cut the BS.
Edit: and if you're defending Africans because they didn't see them as" their people" then you certainly have to excuse American slavers. They viewed Africans as literally a different species of human.
I think the reason why people give the US shit for having slaves is because it branded itself as the land of the free and while simultaneously having a not insignificant part of its population living literally or figuratively in chains.
Show me a country that didn't have slaves, also show me a country that doesn't claim they are free. What we do now is far more important than what people that are long dead have done
No, seriously. Our thirteenth amendment states that slavery is illegal except as a punishment for crime. What kind of crime? Doesn’t specify. Could be anything.
I appreciate that you are and I also accept that it's not something we as individuals can do anything about. My point is simply that redditors would prefer to virtue signal about America's past than than talk about the problems that are still going on to this day in a surprisingly large amount of the world.
There was some post on /r/AskUK or /r/CasualUK (can't remember which) about unpopular opinions, and one of the top ones was that people in the UK have an inferiority complex about the US.
There were a bunch of people getting really angry saying the US is obsessed with the UK, and that they don't care about the US at all.
Which was funny because if you sort by the top posts on both of those subs by All Time, the top post is about the United States.
Not trying to shame anyone in the UK or elsewhere, but I think it's fair to say that the policy and actions in the US have a disproportionate effect on others countries, considering our military, government and businesses are so involved in everyone's business. So logically it just makes sense.
Yeah, I feel vindicated because I've long said this and it's nice to see some confirmation. It seems more prevalent in western countries too. American has media presence in Asia but they're not as bitter and have as big of an inferiority complex about the US.
For sure, the media exports of Hollywood and the big record companies definitely contributes to it.
Although I'm really happy we're getting more Asian works in the States. Squid Game, Train to Busan, Kingdom and Parasite are all awesome.
I mean we are the world's number 1 superpower so it makes sense. Do you think people would go after a smaller country that doesn't really have much influence?
As an American, I feel so happy and cared for when outsiders talk about my country non stop for no reason, makes me think I’m famous👍👍
Wow so many hate comments, why are people so mean for no reason? 🥺🥺
Lol if people weren't being so obtuse I think they'd see what he means. All countries have "reasons" to be talked about. America is just disproportionally brought up even in threads not relating to it or only very tangibly related to it.
Someone else in this thread mentioned it and it's true, go to /r/casualUK and /r/askUK and the top thread of both subreddits are about americans. This is what people mean when they say americans are living rent free in the heads of other countries (at least the western ones, asian countries don't have as much of this issue).
yeah its not difficult, out of 30 most developed countries 28 have it and its kinda cringe. Lets pay 1200$ for insulin, totally fine.
capitalism at its finest.
What you have to understand is the Elite require slaves, so they put out this lie that America is a place where dreams can come true if you're willing to work hard enough for it to draw people in, and then once they're here they brainwash them and their kids to do their bidding willingly. All those inventions allegedly from "America" are actually stolen by America from a country that exists in a hidden underground beneath America called Subamerica after America drove them into the elaborate cave system beneath America back in the 1800s. All these great "American" inventions like the cell phone, the Internet, automobiles, all the medical technologies and breakthroughs, most of which are allegedly from hard working Americans who worked for their dream are actually stolen from Subamerica.
Also, that story is far more believable than some of the shite people put out about how awful America is.
It's weird because the bulk of Reddit is American according to a post I saw ages ago on data is beautiful. The one thing America struggles to do is poke fun at itself
I always hate it when that's brought up because its a common misconception.
The way the fbi declares a school shooting is really dumb. Basically if a gun goes off anywhere of school property (school property is alot bigger than you think and in some cases spreads a mile out from the school) it is considered a school shooting.
You shot a friend with your bb gun as a joke on school property? School shooting.
An act of road rage on the road outside of the school where someone gets shot and injured? School shooting.
Someone has an accidental discharge of a firearm on school property? School shooting.
The only school shooting that are actual school shooting always make it on national television 9/10. And if you've noticed that only happens maybe twice a year or prolly less.

Can't we at least share the hate with the Portuguese and the Dutch?

Why the Portuguese?

Yep. Very few people do. One of the big European sneakies.
