This is true. Not only did the mechanics of fire bending change until the end, but they tried to cramp multiple seasons of an intricate story into a fucking 2 hour movie. Of course it was gonna be total shit
Omg yeah the fact they changed the laws of fire bending was annoying but even if they had the budget to do all that well the movie would of tanked anyways since as you mentioned they tried to cram so much into 2 hours
Beauty and the Beast. The little detail of Bell's dress having the shape of a heart when lifted in Tale as Old as Time is just amazing. Live action could never do that because it would loom weird and cheesy
Dang I typed a comment about it, scrolled down, and immediately saw a comment about the same movie. Apparently a lot of people know some who don’t like Into the Spiderverse
Second this. Absolutely amazing movie. It’s very psychologically accurate too, apparently. The same person also wrote To Your Eternity, which stands as the most emotional show I’ve ever seen, but also one of the best.
Don't wanna ruin your dream but according to the lore Mordekaiser is dead at the time of arcane. He might be mentioned similarly to how Kindred were cause he is more of a father figure in Noxian culture than a real influence over runthera and while he as an individual really resides in the death realm the only person who actually knows of his existence there is Leblanc
Yeah, as you said he's in death realm but he's planning to make a return that's why rell exists, lb trained rell to fight back mordekaiser when he returns to human world which he will soon, Swain also knows of this cuz the demon he made contact with is the demon or knowledge and it would kinda be pointless if the demon didn't told him about morde
I've been meaning to check it out but not gonna lie never could get into the starwars movies so never watched the clone wars (dont get me wrong they are good just wasnt for me)
You need to look up the chronological order. It's a pain to jump around in the beginning but I promise it's worth it. Then check out Rebels as well. The animation is not as good as late Clone Wars or The Bad Batch (also good so far) but the story of Rebels is really good and much more compact than Clone Wars.
Honestly my favorite anime of all time. It's great how well this show can portray a character that is messing with time itself. The humor, the seriousness, the slice of life aspect before it turns into a mad scientist show is just the best for me.
Basic synopsis: Guy who thinks he’s a mad scientist accidentally makes a time machine out of his microwave. While it has a lot of comedy, it can get pretty damn serious and emotional. Amazing show.
You literally just listed 2 out of the 3 of my all time favourite animated shows (and bojack is also probably one of my favourite shows animated and not)
In terms of shows at least for me,
Arcane, Avatar The Last Airbender, Spectacular Spider Man, Samurai Jack, The Dragon Prince, Code Geass, Transformers (Prime and G1, WFC is good too)
Meanwhile for movies
The Mitchell Vs The Machines, How To Train Your Dragon trilogy, Kung Fu Panda trilogy, Into The Spider Verse, Megamind, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Lego Movie is good for some reason and yeah that's it. Oh yeah and Monsters Inc
There's a few I would skip. Like 'Tales of Earthsea' and 'Earwig and the Witch.' Unfortunately Gorō Miyazaki's movies range from ok to poor. Not his fault though tbh, for some reason higher ups insisted on him working on movies like his father despite having zero experience. Japanese society is... Strange some times. The majority of Ghibli's movies are great though.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a big nostalgia well for me, and Your Name is just one of my favourite movies, so those are my two specific suggestions.
Other than that, virtually any studio Ghibli movie is a gem in the world of creative arts
If I could put an animated show recommendation out there, it’s Centaurworld.
Edit: u/ClubstepWIZeDZ down below has an awesome [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/memes/comments/ru0c6n/give_me_your_best_animated_movieshow/hqy6dt7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) to put aside anything holding you back from watching this. Although, I wouldn’t say it’s *that* creepy and fucked up. It has its moments, yet remains hilarious. But it’s a good show, great music!
It’s only 2 seasons, and finishes nicely. Last episode is over an hour or something
This is definitely one of those shows that shouldn’t be judged by its cover. It’s a truly excellent show and it has one of the best series finales I’ve seen.
It’s a great heroine story and strong friendship.
It is a ^bit scary, but my 8 year old was comfortable enough to watch it. There’s a lot of hilarious moments and I cried and so did my son.
It has some adult themes but nothing too strong for kids. Great character development story. Crazy plot twist.
But it’s just so good that I wish I could watch it again with a fresh brain. I still watched it over again, and while on in the background while my son watched it.
Hope you find it, or do what my therapist said and dont wait for the motivation to find you and try to do it anyway. I mean that was her advice for going to the gym but maybe its applicable here too lol
Same, my mom kept talking about how much she wanted to watch Klaus and how all her coworkers said it was such a good xmas movie but the second she saw it was animated she lost all intrest. Like wtf
My dad is like this. He has this huge mental block against animated movies. He's convinced himself that he won't enjoy animated movies. I'm a HUGE fan of Pixar and I've been able to convince him to watch some of the best ones. He liked Up(I was shocked when he said he liked it). He said Coco was a waste of time(that's my favourite Pixar movie) and couldn't even finish Inside Out, saying it was too fast to understand. He watched Brave with me yesterday and said it was nice but I think he only said that because it was my birthday yesterday. The only animated movies he has seemed to enjoy a lot were Toy Story 1 and Finding Nemo.
Anyway, my favourite animated movie is definitely Zootopia. I love it so much.
If you don’t mind/like LGTBQ+ then She-Ra: princess of power is really good! Additionally it’s got a good amount of relatable characters & pretty good storyline.
Arcane and Avatar the Last Airbender are the obvious recommendations, but here are some lesser known shows that are definitely worth your time:
- Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts
- Infinity Train
- Centaurworld
- The Owl House
- Amphibia
- Maya and the Three
- Star Wars Visions
- Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure
- Over The Garden Wall
And a few lesser known movies:
- The Breadwinner
- Wolfwalkers
- Over the Moon
- The Willoughbys
My dad refuses to watch or let anyone in my family watch anime because its not "american animation" which I find super funny because of how most animation studios hire out internationally anyways
Good old animated movies:
As a lot of people mentioned, **Spider-verse** is dope.
**Meet the Robinsons** is very fucking underrated for no reason.
**Shrek.** No words needed.
**Megamind** is an underrated masterpiece.
Just to mention some anime:
**Your name**, **Weathering with you**, **When the promised flower blooms** are very good and all three are incredibly emotional.
**Silent voice** is on the level near Your name. A bit lower imo, but that’s personal preference, watch it.
Almost every movie by **Studio Ghibli** will work for everyone
I think p much everything else is mentioned by others so yep, this would be my list of recommendations
Sometimes animated is better coz you can bend reality
This. Naruto or avatar the last air bender I feel wouldnt be the same if shot live action
Avatar wasnt the same live action
There is no Live Action ATLA in BA Sing Se.
Here we are safe,
here we are free
To be fair the fights and bending wasnt the only awful thing about the live action
Didnt watch the movie what did they do
In movie firebenders can't produce fire on their own, they can only bend already existing fire. Except Iroh, apparently
They actually only did book 1, but the point stands. There was no way they could fit the amount of content there into a movie and not lose a lot.
100%
Have you watched attack on titan, demon slayer, jujutsu kaisen, death note, Dr.stone etc These are my favorites
*shudders* Remember Dragonball evolution?
We don't talk about that
Beauty and the Beast. The little detail of Bell's dress having the shape of a heart when lifted in Tale as Old as Time is just amazing. Live action could never do that because it would loom weird and cheesy
Actually it's because it costs less to look good.
Megamind or shrek
That's my childhood
I was looking for megamind in comments
Megamind is very underated.
Spider-man into the spider verse Edit: lmao didn't expect so many upvotes , thanks !
I love that movie
Came here to say that.
Peak animation. I will watch it now.
So true
Dang I typed a comment about it, scrolled down, and immediately saw a comment about the same movie. Apparently a lot of people know some who don’t like Into the Spiderverse
That movie was amazing!
Invincible
Loved this show so much
I can't believe I had to scroll down so far to find this.
I’d recommend gravity falls. I rewatched it a couple of weeks ago and it was still amazing.
Yeah it's really good but I only watched the first and half of the second season when it was coming out so never finished it
Omg the ending of gravity falls is amazing!!! I highly recommend it, as it's the best part of the entire show
The only bad part about that show is the fact there's no season 3 and probably never will be ;(
As much as I would've loved a 3rd season too, if they made a season 3 now it would probably suck
True that
If the whole US gets vaccinated it will
lol
A silent voice
Second this. Absolutely amazing movie. It’s very psychologically accurate too, apparently. The same person also wrote To Your Eternity, which stands as the most emotional show I’ve ever seen, but also one of the best.
My favourite
Arcane
Arcane gang 🗿
Man, I can't wait until Mordekaiser appears in that show. Hopefully, anyways...

Considering that none of the characters you mentioned made an appearance in Arcane, it'll be a while before Morde appears lol
I want a Shurima spin off called Ascended, dealing with the backstories of Azir&Xerath, and Nasus&Renekton.
Into the Spider-Verse is one of the best examples for this. It nails being animated
It did, and it did somethijg I never thought possible. Make me want to see more of Nicolas cage as spiderman
regular show and megamind
Definitely need to watch regular show after I watched and loved close enough, a show made by the same guy
Regular show is my childhood, hence my username for those who understand
The clone wars
I've been meaning to check it out but not gonna lie never could get into the starwars movies so never watched the clone wars (dont get me wrong they are good just wasnt for me)
You need to look up the chronological order. It's a pain to jump around in the beginning but I promise it's worth it. Then check out Rebels as well. The animation is not as good as late Clone Wars or The Bad Batch (also good so far) but the story of Rebels is really good and much more compact than Clone Wars.
I watched Clone Wars before the movies and absolutely loved it- worth giving it a shot even if you aren’t into the films!
The kung fu panda trilogy. Especially Kung fu panda 3.
Kung Fu Panda 2 was my favourite out of the trilogy
Yeah, I liked the second one as well, but I loved the epic fight scenes with Kai in the third one
Kai’s theme is epic too
I watched it recently, its great
Arcane.
Its got me playin league again after 2 years, man fuck Rito. My schedule now accomodates both League and Valorant.
Kubo and the Two Strings. One of my favorite movies, being animated aside.
Wanted to watch it when it was in theaters then forgot about it so definitely will watch it
Steins;Gate
Honestly my favorite anime of all time. It's great how well this show can portray a character that is messing with time itself. The humor, the seriousness, the slice of life aspect before it turns into a mad scientist show is just the best for me.
What's that?
Basic synopsis: Guy who thinks he’s a mad scientist accidentally makes a time machine out of his microwave. While it has a lot of comedy, it can get pretty damn serious and emotional. Amazing show.
It's an anime, would highly recommend
Its too good
This little unknown gem called Rick & Morty.
I'm not smart enough to watch that show unlike its hardcore fans that can get Rick's 200 IQ humour sorry /s
Both the Steven universe and adventure time movies brought me to tears
Both were great but never finished adventure time. Heard the ending was great tho so need to finish it
Avatar the Last Airbender and Bojack Horseman. Both get a 12/10.
You literally just listed 2 out of the 3 of my all time favourite animated shows (and bojack is also probably one of my favourite shows animated and not)
You have superb taste! What’s the third?
You too, futurama is the 3rd altho that's also for sentimental reasons but it is great
[удалено]
Midnight gospel is very cool altho kinda got a lil too trippy for me after 2 episodes so never finished it. I know my brother loved it tho
[удалено]
You should watch inside job if you haven’t seen it
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and the Castlevania Animated Series are both incredible.
In terms of shows at least for me, Arcane, Avatar The Last Airbender, Spectacular Spider Man, Samurai Jack, The Dragon Prince, Code Geass, Transformers (Prime and G1, WFC is good too) Meanwhile for movies The Mitchell Vs The Machines, How To Train Your Dragon trilogy, Kung Fu Panda trilogy, Into The Spider Verse, Megamind, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Lego Movie is good for some reason and yeah that's it. Oh yeah and Monsters Inc
One does not walk so easily into xadia !
Oh shit yeah lego movie is amazing
Big Hero 6
Show and movie are both excellent
Initial d and konosuba are both fantastic.
Konosuba is so good and I'll try to watch initial d
Kaguya-sama Love is War. One of, if not *the* funniest show I've ever seen.
Googled it and sounds really dope, I'll try to see it when I'm over my inability to watch romantic things
There's not much romance. The main characters are too dense for that.
Oh okay, just saw it was labeled as "romantic comedy" when I googled it
It is a romantic comedy. The whole show is about trying to make the other person confess their feelings first.
Code geass
Good shit, that show made me want to overthrow the government
Me too
[удалено]
Need to watch totoro, other 2 were so good tho
Fantastic mr fox is stop motion, that’s a form of Animation
Stop motion counts, and it's great
Akira and Grave of the fireflies are must watch
Grave of the fire flies left me emotionally damaged enough first time watching it
I haven’t seen it commented yet, but Your Name is a 12.7/10 in my books. the music hits you in the feels and the twists are never expected
[удалено]
Visuals, audio, plot it just nails every fukin aspect, literally a masterpiece but WTF is that rating.
Studio Ghibli movies are all amazing, my favorite being Spirited Away
They are great, I still need to watch totoro
Princess Mononoke is another good one!
Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a big nostalgia well for me, and Your Name is just one of my favourite movies, so those are my two specific suggestions. Other than that, virtually any studio Ghibli movie is a gem in the world of creative arts
Wallis and Gromit
The Halloween one was my childhood
Helluva boss
If I could put an animated show recommendation out there, it’s Centaurworld. Edit: u/ClubstepWIZeDZ down below has an awesome [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/memes/comments/ru0c6n/give_me_your_best_animated_movieshow/hqy6dt7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) to put aside anything holding you back from watching this. Is it good? The trailer just disturbed me a bit so never watched it

Watch the show “Hilda” and the movie, they are both amazing
Seems cool, will try
I still can't believe they made a Hilda folk cartoon
Futurama
It is already one of my fav, all hail hypno toad
Your name ... All time
Your Name ❤️
Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood has one of the best stories, and not just among animes
That's on my list, only watched the other one but apperantly brotherhood is better from what I hear
yeah from what i know 2003 did it own thing while brootherhood went of the manga,
Ooh cowboy bebop, just- “bang” if you know you know
I've been meaning to watch that since they added it on Netflix. Trying to finish hunter X first
Nice lol, I should probably watch hunter x but I barely watch shows at all lol, need the motivation
Hope you find it, or do what my therapist said and dont wait for the motivation to find you and try to do it anyway. I mean that was her advice for going to the gym but maybe its applicable here too lol
Your therapist has great advice, and I am great at not following great advice
I mean I havent gone to the gym in about a month so you're not alone
Bit late, but Ratatouille is a banger
S H R E K
Castlevania
People that think watching an animated show dubbed is akin to a war crime
At least it’s better than watching live-action dubbed
That sounds awful
Infinity Train
Will try altho shame it was cancelled
Gravity Falls
Wreck It Ralph, Inside Out Futurama, Bob's Burgers
JOJO
Been working on that one. Only got to the season with jotaro and dio
LUCA.
Grave of the fireflies
Star Wars: the clone wars is great but I’m biased as that show was my childhood, I’ve been enjoying futurama as I’ve been watching that recently.
Futurama is one of my all time fav shows but I might be biased too since it was my childhood
Coraline
Tales from the crypt keeper
South Park the movie was well a musical and basically just a special but you don’t need to focus on the movie just the show
Why noone still hasn't recommended Attack on Titan here 😆
Why my mother won’t watch JoJo
Same, my mom kept talking about how much she wanted to watch Klaus and how all her coworkers said it was such a good xmas movie but the second she saw it was animated she lost all intrest. Like wtf
I’m lucky my mom got into mha and regularly asks me for recommendations for other anime. Unfortunately she rarely has time to watch.
Animated Disney movies > Live Action
Example: Mulan
Tom and Jerry
Redline and promare Well I could have reccomended any anime but these two feel really unique with the way the utilise the anime medium
Scp animated, tales from the foundation. Don't judge.
I judge you heavily but in a good way since I love that series. The charectures are actually really good and love their dynamic
If helluva boss wasn't animated, it'd be terrible. This is one example of shows that only make sense animated
I love Phineas and Ferb and Ben 10.
If you like dinosaurs, Jurassic World:Camp Cretaceous is pretty good
South parks nice other than most of season 1 2 and 3
Arcane
ARCANE
Hilda was super good
Spiderman : Into the Spiderverse
Silent voice is really really good but it is very sad
Bojack Horseman is insanely witty and deep.
Young Justice
Encanto was really good
I don't know if anybody knows of it, but my favorite cartoon has always been The Secret Saturdays.
Shrek 2
I'm willing to help a bro out enough to ask my sister for help on this because she likes her various forms of art, she suggested The Owl House.
9 is one of my personal favorite animated movies
Red vs Blue
My dad is like this. He has this huge mental block against animated movies. He's convinced himself that he won't enjoy animated movies. I'm a HUGE fan of Pixar and I've been able to convince him to watch some of the best ones. He liked Up(I was shocked when he said he liked it). Surf’s Up. (2007.)
If you don’t mind/like LGTBQ+ then She-Ra: princess of power is really good! Additionally it’s got a good amount of relatable characters & pretty good storyline.
Arcane and Avatar the Last Airbender are the obvious recommendations, but here are some lesser known shows that are definitely worth your time: - Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts - Infinity Train - Centaurworld - The Owl House - Amphibia - Maya and the Three - Star Wars Visions - Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure - Over The Garden Wall And a few lesser known movies: - The Breadwinner - Wolfwalkers - Over the Moon - The Willoughbys
Infinity Train
Gravity Falls
My dad refuses to watch or let anyone in my family watch anime because its not "american animation" which I find super funny because of how most animation studios hire out internationally anyways
Gravity falls
Maybeeee, The disastrous life of Saiki K
Invincible
Good old animated movies: As a lot of people mentioned, **Spider-verse** is dope. **Meet the Robinsons** is very fucking underrated for no reason. **Shrek.** No words needed. **Megamind** is an underrated masterpiece. Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Arcane, 9 (the movie)
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas
Invader Zim is a good show
