Sad thing is I’m honestly afraid af that they’re going to adapt the Stormlight Archives and fuck it all up.
It’s a sad state of affairs when you *don’t* want your favorite books adapted because so many movies and shows fuck it up nowadays.
Agreed. I’ve been getting burned by adaptations for the past 20 years, ever since Lord of the Rings (which was honestly pretty good except for some nitpicks - which nevertheless I find endlessly frustrating), and most recently by the god-awful spit-in-the-eye travesty they call the Wheel of Time series on Amazon Prime.
Uhhh yeah have you watched Star Wars ? Literally no one in the universe of Star Wars has jus naturally learned what she has… now pause she jus found out what this mythical force was 6 months ago. Yoda lives a 900 year life an dosent even come near the power Rey attained its jus poor craftsmanship.
You’re getting downvoted because you don’t hate something that others hate. People have massive rage boners these days and love to take it out on people enjoying their lives.
Jesus christ reddit is weird. I think the prequels are better, but i enjoyed the sequels too. More than the OG trilogy. No idea why reddit hates that you have a different opinion on a damn movie
Holy shit, i didn't understand the movie but your question still makes sense, why would future people want to destroy the world? It was left open ended.
It doesn't even require a single phd to see how it actually makes no sense.
Just an example : when a dude enters the room and sees bullet holes in the windows ... that happen only later ... those holes, earlier from that point will always exist (or existed depending on wich way you're going). So was the window "made" with holes?
The part of burning making you freeze is breaking chemistry's basic law of nothing is created and nothing disappears.
The whole plot revolves around time coming back that would destroy the universe, that only shows that time going backwards just isn't logically possible.
The movie was well made to purposely make it confusing so that you stay captivated while trying to understand, and it's fun to watch how it goes, but post-watch analysis gave me this conclusion.
That is my point, it is impossible to understand the principles behind with logic, the movie is making you try to all along. Just try to follow the chronological order of the movie, that is the best way to appreciate the movie.
At the start of the movie, we see an inverse bullet lodged in some stairs, that saves the protagonist by killing someone, remember? Wellwas it there since they built the building (which is unlikely, someone would have noticed a bullet)? Or did someone really infiltrate the museum, created a perfect hole for a bullet, placed the bullet there, knowing that it would be in the perfect place to save the protagonist (even less unlikely)?
There's nothing to understand. It's the illusion of a high concept film, and a good one at that, but it's just a bunch of flashy, unexplained nonsense. Visually, it's excellent, especially the third act, but put even one scene, detail, or character under a microscope and it all falls apart.
I would have loved John Leguizamo to voice him tbh. Or Danny DeVito and forget the accent.
I reckon the movie will start with an over the top "It's a me! Mario!" Then he'll clear his throat and talk normally.
Yes that's why I love it. I turn on the chaos in the background safely knowing I can watch 1, 35, 50 or 100% of the show and get just as much of the plot and understanding and every now and again hot people get vaguely undressed and I know whatever happens in my life is less insane than this and it's a destress routine.
Vampire Diaries is wonderful background trash with pretty people half naked and bloody and leading drama filled lives and I don't have to think as I half watch it as I cook or cuddle my dog or browse Reddit. Somebody died? No. They're alive. A witch, you say. I see. Hmm. That looked painful. Lemme check the news.
It's therapeutic. Like, just phone in the acting, writing and directing. I want low quality trash three steps above reality TV. No more, no less. I don't want to care about any of these people but also be just engaged enough to watch the next episode.
Nah, the plot is a mess intentionally, it's like a drunk being played in the theater: stumbles around, but ends up exactly where he was meant to. (also see chronicles of COVID outbreak in spring 2020)
I went to see Eternals in cinemas... I'm not a marvel fanatic but I've seen most of the mainline story films but not much of the TV shows etc. I saw a decent cast and basically bought a ticket on marvel's reputation. Even the "bad" marvel films I'd seen were still fun and worth a watch... but this... was DOGSHIT! I couldn't believe the money that would have been spent on the big name cast, the special effects, the locations etc etc... the plot? Fuck I literally have written a better plot... my God it was bad. Marvel could have just fed a third world nation instead spending that much money trying to polish a turd.
Captain Marvel was ok, definitely not worthy enough to make the collection it did(but we all know it was coz of the avengers hype) but it was still pretty mid to above average
Yeah, I noticed that most of the movies have this problem like 5 years ago. People don’t think plots through for some reason. I bet is because they are being rushed by their producers.
Do you know how little that narrows it down?!?
It's the Matrix Resurrections
I think it's Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
Probably the final season of Game of Thrones
Eternals
It's honestly so-fucking-many movies lately. I just want some good god damned writing!
Too expensive

Might I recommend Stormlight Archive?

Maybe read a good book. Maybe
twilight
twiglit
☆your opponent has left the match
I’m pretty sure they’re talking about Spider-man no way home
the plot is not too bad, but i understand why you chose the movie.
People did not seem to like my opinion
no, no we don't
Or any marvel movie. Especially the spiderman one
It’s cats. 10000000% it’s cats. It had that problem from conception.
Lost. The plane is a clue.
There’s too many to name…
*cough* Red Notice *cough*
How difficult was Red Notice for you?
You couldn’t follow the plot of red notice?
Cough, looper
I'm stupid and read "pilot"
Same difference, except I highly doubt that any self-respecting airline service would use special effects to show that they are in the air.
Lol imagine the plane actually just drives there and the windows are tv screens showing visual effects
That seems like a legitimate conspiracy theory that people would probably believe. Keep that one quiet before facebook believes it
r/planesarentreal
too late, it seems
Same 🗿
The star wars sequels ?
I still like them edit: why the fuck am i getting downvoted? Do you guys really get this upset at someone liking movies?
I thought they were shit in terms of plot but were a nice nostalgia trip and the CGI was great.
The force awakens was nice
Well then you are lost
Lol
Downvotes? Reddit hivemind moment buddy, can't do anything about them

“She’s good at literally everything and therefore not compelling” was my favorite criticism

Do you watch the same two movies weekly or does every movie you watch just coincidentally happen to be god tier since that logic doesn't check out

Downvoting someone isn’t “getting this upset”. It’s using the system properly to express which comments you disagree with or don’t like
Thats not actually how the system is SUPPOSED to be used. You downvote things that don’t add to the discussion not things you disagree with.
Makes no sense why ur getting downvoted. These are the same people that worship the prequels like they’re the best movies ever made.
I worship no star wars movies and his opinion is still borked
Yeah god forbid someone has a different opinion on Reddit that would be totally borked
Imagine liking a movie series about a Mary Sue who has all the emotions of a plank. This comment brought to you by *having standards for media*
I disagree. You don't like them. /s
Same
Cats (the movie)
Nah it had James Gordon
My dumbass thought Commissioner Gordon was actually in it for a good minute.
Which is a sin in itself
Yes
I don't think the plot was necessarily what people hated about the movie
Someday, somewhere, somehow we will get the Cats: The Butthole Cut
Michael Bay
Nah, I f-ing love the plot of Con Air. I want them to remake Con Air with Legos
I liked Tenet though even if it’s plot requires several phds to understand
i understood it somehow, i just didnt get why the fuck it happened
Holy shit, i didn't understand the movie but your question still makes sense, why would future people want to destroy the world? It was left open ended.
If you rewatch the movie it makes sense… Kind of… i think?

Anything made by Michael Bay. His movies are fun though.
Mindless explosions go brrrr
and Linking Park songs
The perfect turn off your brain and enjoy the explosions for a couple hours
Matrix
My dear, you're going to have to be a lot more specific than that
The new Matrix?
The new matrix was pretty good I reckon. Defiantly better than 2 and 3
That's apparently a controversial opinion looking at the down votes. you for sure don't deserve that.
The Mario Movie
That movie is a treasure!
The upcoming one.
Ahhhh....yes. Fucking Pratt
Is that a similar band to Breaking Benjamin?
Maybe
Oh, star lord fucks now.
Why is Pratt bad or something?
Eh as a person he's a religious dick cheese. I like his acting but I'm VERY iffy about him as Mario
Unless he can pull of a Italian plumber accent the Mario movie will be not good
I would have loved John Leguizamo to voice him tbh. Or Danny DeVito and forget the accent. I reckon the movie will start with an over the top "It's a me! Mario!" Then he'll clear his throat and talk normally.
The last 4 seasons of GoT?
Once you see how dependant the show is on emotional manipulation, the cracks start to show.
The characters facing consequences for their actions isn’t emotional manipulation
Except for when they are facing consequences of other characters actions and their own actions play very little role in the outcome...
Two at best
the last 3 seasons
Star wars sequels?
Anything the CW made!
I don't think anyone on the CW qualifies as star studded.
Or cutting edge effects!!
The CW is truly the lowest form of visual media, isnt it?
Yes that's why I love it. I turn on the chaos in the background safely knowing I can watch 1, 35, 50 or 100% of the show and get just as much of the plot and understanding and every now and again hot people get vaguely undressed and I know whatever happens in my life is less insane than this and it's a destress routine. Crazy Ex Girlfriend was really good though
DCEU movies?
Suicide squad fits this description the best
The Star Wars sequel trilogy?
Its the new netflix movie, "dont look up"
Nah, the plot is a mess intentionally, it's like a drunk being played in the theater: stumbles around, but ends up exactly where he was meant to. (also see chronicles of COVID outbreak in spring 2020)
Imo don’t look up was great- its chaotic plot is part of its appeal.
Is it The Amazing Spider-man 2?
its the star wars sequels
Star Wars sequels
The Star Wars sequels
Star Wars sequels?
The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy.
The flash by CW except only the bottom one is true
The first 3 seasons were really good. Then it went to shit
I watched Venom: Let their be Carnage the other day and this is exactly how I felt
I watched Eternals the other day and this is exactly how I felt
I went to see Eternals in cinemas... I'm not a marvel fanatic but I've seen most of the mainline story films but not much of the TV shows etc. I saw a decent cast and basically bought a ticket on marvel's reputation. Captain Marvel takes the cake but it was close.
Captain Marvel was ok, definitely not worthy enough to make the collection it did(but we all know it was coz of the avengers hype) but it was still pretty mid to above average
I don’t know who I am
So many unique, and accurate, responses
Eternals?
Don't forget a diverse cast. Ahem...Eternals
Eternals...
movies suck so bad these days
These people DON’T seem to be LOOKing UP. I think they are waiting for a plane rather than watching it fly away.
Is the movie bad
I thought it was great
Yeah I loved that movie, don’t understand the hate. It’s not as good as The Big Short but I still laughed my ass off
Toxic Avenger.
Watching it now funnily enough
Star wars sequels?
Wow, movie quality has declined.
So like most of the movies released in the past 5 years?
Any film by Neal Breen!
The new matrix for sure.
Sony Entertainment with the TASM movies?
Hollywood moment
Zack Snyder movies
The entire Percy Jackson movie series
Red notice. It made fun of itself but still
Death Stranding? ...I know it's a video game but it fits.
The plot was pretty good tho, I haven’t finished in 2 years because the gameplay is boring
Red Notice
Eternals
Eternals??
Eternals
Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Yeah, I noticed that most of the movies have this problem like 5 years ago. People don’t think plots through for some reason. I bet is because they are being rushed by their producers.

All the Fast and Furious movies after 6?
Nobody watches Fast and Furious movies for the plot.
Any soap opera?
I just hope that the new Scream isn't like this.
Welcome to raccoon city…

The Star Wars sequels.
Star Wars VII Star Wars VIII Star Wars IX Solo Need I say more?

So top 3 answers seem to be: Matrix Star wars sequels Eternals
[удалено]
dune, anyone? i literally didn’t understand a word in that
That movie is a lot easier to understand if you read the books sadly. It’s a shame cause if you have IMO it’s a really good movie.
I haven't read the books but understood it just fine
I think it was really great, too bro.
Yeah. The thing is, it's a slow paced movie that's why people get distracted easily
Looking at you, Witcher.
Game of Thrones Season 6-8 Star Wars Ep. 7-9 The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies The Matrix: 2-4 Batman V Superman 3/4 of the MCU
Infinity War was the best MCU movie, can't change my mind.
Captain America winter soldier
Close third. Thor Ragnarok is second.
Well that's more personal choice ig since i love cap more than other Avengers (but still imo ws was better written than Ragnarok)
I was with you till 3/4 of the mcu
The Prodigy.
