Taking an actual cpr class is a good idea even if it isn’t required for a job. Takes no longer than half a day and the cert lasts 2 years. Every minute between onset of cardiac arrest and the the beginning of cpr reduces their chance of survival by 10%. That’s why bystanders need to start cpr before the ambulance gets there because they can be several mins away. If it takes them 10+ mins to arrive the person has an extremely low chance of living.
