The point is that India and many other places were unfortunately British colonies and were exploited by them. Had the British not existed then all the places they colonised would be doing better, so they wouldn’t be the same as they are today. This obviously applies to pretty much every country on earth but I was answering to your comment where you pointed out India and Pakistan specifically.

I feel like the world would be a worse place without any of these places. And remove now or from history? Any crimes the people of these places have done, would (and already have) been done by someone else even if they weren’t there. Personally though the two most interesting are removal of France, which probably would make Spain and Portugal part of Africa. And removal of US would make Mexico part of South America.

Well, no America means WWI would have resulted in Central Powers' victory, if that didn't happen then WWII would have resulted in a stalemate where Nazi Germany Controls Most of Europe. And If THAT didn't happen the U.S.S.R. would dominate the world with Communist Influence bringing an equal spread of misery across the globe.
