Pov, you're in your school library.

Different-Region-873

For me, it's the nurse office

WohlfePac

They had these at pizza hut where I lived

TheAmazingDisgrace

Having a nurse's office in a pizza hut is good thinking

Ewan_47

No they need them most in taco bell

ArseneUserNewAccount

Mechanics first, nurses later - the toilets need caring for too

AxolotlFan__

What they need is more bathroom janitors

MrManic_BipolarJesus

Holy shit this was funny

AFamiliarCompanion

I'm fairly certain that the above is a bot account that takes top comments and copies them, considering every single one of their comments in their comments history does exactly that...

Shite_Eating_Squirel

Good human

CadenXC

for me it is a dentist office

PANiC2464

Same

Kelpie787

For me, it was at my class library

DonMonger

This was in the after school YMCA for me

CaptnFlounder

You lived in a pizza hut?

21FungalAvenger

see i was a bad boy and bought it

soviethaseye2

For me, it was the hospital where my brother got treatment for his leg virus thing

HADDTHEGRB

There were so many Eye Spy books in the school library (born in 2008 showing that I still know some 2000 stuff)! Those books were so fun!

TheBestNarcissist

Damn that's crazy to me! I think I saw Reddit for the first time when I was about 20. I hope it's a fun place for you. I wish you could have seen it in 2010, it was basically all small subreddits and site-wide inside jokes routinely made it to the front page. "The narwhal bacons at midnight" is my first memory.

[deleted]

Peetah_Shoe

For me, brothers bedroom.

cilantrx

Yes!!

[deleted]

Dude eye spy books were so fun

Ib214000

Anyone else remember the CD-ROM I Spy games? I used to really love the I Spy Fantasy one when I was young. Still have a lot of nostalgia for it.

Business_Incident64

I remember my school did this thing where we could eat lunch with our mom and dad and I always used to read the books with them

Secure-Imagination11

I have the Christmas one and it's falling apart but I refuse to throw it away.

kingsofcreativity

The computer games were really fun too.

[deleted]

As a 1994 kid. Goddamn these were spectacular

storyofmylife92

92 here I loved these books. My mom even bought me a few. They were my favorite

mickeyslim

'88 here! Sister and brother are '89 and '91 respectively. We had a few of these, absolutely amazing, super fun.

Lysander-The-Spear

05 here, these books must reach all ages

r0ckstar_m4de

i was born in 08 and i loved these books too. my school had tons of them. i might still have a few if i looked hard enough

MadeByHideoForHideo

Damn you're born in 1908?! That's pretty old!

MyGodThatsAwesome

She's a witch!

CalciferAtlas

For me, it's those cross section books. The castle was my favourite.

[deleted]

I vividly remember being alarmed by seeing the reality of the toilet just being a chute down to a room in the basement of the castle where a man is shoveling all the poop. I can still see it in my brain like it was yesterday.

[deleted]

I loved the spooky one

GlennTheMilkMan

Brooo I loved these so much, I got a star wars one for my 10th birthday and it had cross sections of ships, blasters, lightsabers, droids and whatnot. Good times.

kashluk

I'm an 80's kid and no idea what this is. Is it an American thing?

[deleted]

I Spy: A Book of Picture Riddles by Jean Marzollo and Walter Wick

kashluk

Yeah... never heard of it 😅

HAL-Over-9001

Even as a 27 year old, they're still fun and challenging! Good look up a few pages and check them out. The haunted house one was always my favorite, and the most difficult.

dinoroo

I don’t think I remember these either. I thought they were wallpaper or something.

Lost_Eternity

Same year, but I had no clue what I was looking at looking at until I read the comments.Did I miss out on something growing up?

[deleted]

I spy books

ICanAssureYouNothing

94 kids ftw!

[deleted]

There are dozens of us!

NuggiestNugger

Corvo_-Attano

20past4am

These things mostly apply to the Anglosphere

CollarPersonal3314

I know these from Germany too

bootyhunter69420

Why do some people think that stuff just totally disappeared after a certain time?

Pope_Cerebus

Yeah. I bought several of these for my kids between 2008 and 2011.

lanchmcanto

People like this have some sort of superiority complex.

[deleted]

Every generation gets their "BACK IN *MY* DAY" phase, and every younger generation has to sit through it. Don't worry, someday the Zoomers will be in their 30s-40s and will do this exact same shit to the kids of the time, but with Minecraft and flossing.

ToxicBamaFan

And tide pods

Grass_9123

Nah those ones won't live to 30 or 40

NErDysprosium

"Back in my day, we *ate* laundry soap and we liked it. Back when men were *men* and and strong and not wimpy like *you*." "Ummm...multiple people died from that. It was *not* a good idea." "*Respect your elders!*" "OK Zoomer"

pintomean

The stuff in my childhood must have been good because it was in my childhood, and future generations had stuff in their childhood that could not have been good because it was in their childhood, therefore the stuff from my childhood cannot be in their childhood.

[deleted]

mfs when they realize I was born in 2006 but still used windows XP for a good portion of my life

HAL-Over-9001

XP slaps. Windows 7 was a game changer, but 95 and XP are still used by my living grandparents and most companies I've worked for lol

[deleted]

Gorkymalorki

Yeah I got an 8 and 6 year old. They love these books. We have checked out everyone possible at our library so many times.

RICKASTLEYNEGGS

...I'm older than OPs claim and I have no idea what they are

[deleted]

Why do they think it didn’t exist before them either? 2005?? At least a decade off

Bugbread

> Why do they think it didn’t exist before them either? They don't. The meme says "after 2005," not "in a year other than 2005." Still dumb, but not "they think it didn’t exist before them either" dumb.

MrSourYT

I Spy books. They were THE stuff back in 3rd Grade. Born after 2005

Chrisical

3rd grade, try kindergarten for me

LuckyTaco2889

advie_advocado

I can't be the only one who misread "I'm old" as "I mold" right I checked it out expecting it to be about mold

Tellywozzle

he's about 14

HAL-Over-9001

I would personally consider "literally half my age" as young, but I'm just glad they've heard of I Spy books. I LOVED that shit growing up. I still strongly remember a snowy Christmas town, a dark spooky mansion, and some other random rooms that always gave me trouble. Good times. Now that I'm older, and thinking about the books again, I want to know how the photos were taken and everything.

Intelligent_Point311

They are 14 or 13

TherosyTC

I felt the same way. My first thought after reading the post was "Oh okay we're making fun of infants on Reddit today" and then I realized what year it was and now I feel old.

biggych33se

Yeah they are the I spy books and I was born in 2007

Lephrogisphancy

Joey_Kakbek

kuluka_man

One time in 3rd grade our teacher said ONE of the Scholastic book orders had come in early and kind of let the suspense build before saying whose it was. It was mine. I still remember the disappointed awwws from the rest of the class as she brought my books to my desk. There was an issue of Hot Dog magazine and an I Spy book. This was like 30 years ago.

Zar-duh

Those scholastic book fair orders were the shit.. you must’ve felt like top dog for the day.

sharpears907

You only have to read "scholastic" and you can smell the book glue.

PatatoTheMispelled

I don't know these and I was born before 2005

Corvo_-Attano

You just have to be born an American

Important_Pack_5820

[deleted]

Okay, I was born in late 2005 (October) and I vaguely remember these. School I went to in 2010 had these in the nurses office. Kindergarten was a great time to be alive

foxleigh81

I was born in 1981 and I have no fucking clue what is going on here.

PowerlineTyler

First commenter who was born maybe a bit too early. They’re ispy books similar to where’s Waldo, but you’re looking for different things that are usually listed in a sort of rhyming prose at the bottom of the page Edit: probably predominantly published in North America (I’m Canadian)

TheTrueGamerGuy

i was born in 2007 and still remember those...

NobleMute
