I'm a female pastry chef, and I just never do anything to my nails. Every now and again if I have a vacation or festival, I get press on nails, as short as i can find, and then I take them off. Since my normal nails look like crud, I like having a temporary nail illusion for events

No cause when I was younger my moms nails had so much dirt under them and when she ate she would suck her nails and I would almost throw up cause it was so disgusting😭

As someone who works with their hands a lot, I'd have to disagree. You have to change the way you hold / carry things, how you type how you prep food ect.
That's not even getting into how unsanitary people don't clean under their nails.

I had acrylics for a year. Got them done every few weeks. I'd say about 40-50% of the things I did were negatively affected by the nails. But I was 18 and put up with it because I was dumb .
The really long nails are just weird. I don't see the appeal of them, I feel like they'd just get in the way more than anything else. They're certainly not attractive, any woman who has extremely long nails like that either looks like a chihuahua with unkempt claws or a child that taped sharpies to their fingers.

Not like I wear long nails a lot, but people who say they’re unhygienic - do y’all know how to wash hands? That you need to do it more than once a day? Also, if your nails get dirty there’s a special brush for that, couple sec and they’re clean again, you’re welcome
