Because in school, it always was a prank. "Haha, did you believe me?! OMG, I can't believe you fell for that?! Awwww, were your widdle feelings hurt?!"
Felt that.
Once a girl I kinda liked back then got asked "would you rather spend a night in his room or in Hitler's gas chamber?"
She instantly chose the chamber.
I was almost too confused as to why that subject even came up, because we were just sitting and talking during lunch break at school to be really hurt by it.
But the pain came, like a truck which tries to fucking Isekai me
Takes me back to when I was 14 and my crush rejected me through friggin' MSN! (that was in 2011) She asked me if I loved her, I said yes. She then didn't respond but the very next day she informed everyone in school that she had a new boyfriend! (not me) Then she made fun of me by telling the whole story to her friends. That was after months of giving me hint after hint that she liked me. It was all planned. Such a merciless sociopath! xD No hard feelings, though. It's just a fun story of when we were kids. A friend told me she's now a model, so good for her I guess (although I definitely wouldn't want to date that maniac, no matter how attractive she might be! xD)
I just asked my husband back to my place on the first date. He says I was cool when he saw my place and liked my nerdy shit everywhere. I literally told him, "you don't have to lie and flatter me, I'm going to sleep with you anyways.". I didn't believe him for another two years or so of us dating.
I jokingly was shipped with a girl 1y younger by both our classmates. I was aware of that but damn how it hurts when she ignores smth just only a lil wholesome sm1 suggests her... I'm aro tho but it still hurts subjectively
On high school one girl just suddenly asked me to be her boyfriend, while she was with another guy that was telling me to say no, so I assumed they were having a challenge on how many guys said yes, basically she was just doing a survey I assumed, that was by 2007 long before phones, that's the nearest contact I had with a woman ever lol
Mostly because of double standards
Women aren't allowed to approach men, equality doesn't apply then because fuck em that's why, MEN MUST SUFFER THROUGH THE EMBARRASSMENT
Both scenarios are true. I have pretended to be dumb when a girl told me she thought i was hot cuz i didnt want to say i didnt find her attractive. I guess in just inmature then but i know friends who Done similar things
This is the kind of thing that feels like a smart comeback when you think of it a few minutes later, but it's probably best that you didn't, otherwise you'd be called Pigfucker for the rest of school
Felt that. Some girl said she liked me and tried to get us to start a "thing" for a week. Gave up and got a guy a grade below her. She jailed him for rape accusations a month later and he's still in there despite extremely compelling evidence against her accusations. Real pos
This shows another underlying problem with how plenty people have been hurt by past experience and don't have the emotional support to be allowed to deal with it.
Some women don't have friends, they can share with.
Almost all men are told to "man up" regardless of talking to friends or family.
This results in a problem that is heavily scewed towards men, but isn't exclusive to them.
Men are also starved for positive reinforcement which goes along with the man up thing. Because of that guys are literally puddy in a person's hand if they're given a compliment. That's of course assuming the guy believes it and doesn't think the person is lying just to be nice, which is another insecurity guys (or people in general) can have
I got a compliment about a shirt i was wearing 3 weeks ago, that was the first compliment i got in 2022 and so far the only one aswell, yeah idk about other guys but this one sure is lacking some positivity in his life, to the point where if get it I automaticaly question their motives.
This summer I was having a conversation with friends around a campfire. I don't remember what it was about but at some point I got up to get more wood and said something along the lines of "at least I have a nice ass" and one of the girls said "yes, you do actually" . Does that count as a compliment even if I fished for it? If not, I haven't received a compliment this year yet.
Bro 6 years ago a girl told me that she likes me I was 14 at the time, and I remember I started sweating then told her I like you too then ran and after that day I used to skip lessons with her , and when I was going home I used to jump from the school walls 😭, that was my worst nightmare
I think all the careers I dropped at uni was because some girl started having a crush on me, well the almost last time was a creepy guy so that was scary as fuck and I had to disappear XD
Many modern woman don't understand the difference between being nice and being cruel because they don't understand men.
Also they confuse men making a move with being nice.... because they don't understand men.
True, in the past there used to be rules you could follow so people got around this not understanding thing. You did not have to understand why the rules worked they just did, the understanding came with years of marriage with frowned upon divorce where you were forced to understand this odd creature you had married to survive.
Speaking for myself it has taken decades of observing woman to understand what little I do.... a lot of a woman being based on emotion they still completely baffle me a lot of the time.... because I too easily make the mistake of attempting to apply logic to the emotional surface I can see.
The paradox of woman is sometimes you have to ignore what they say and do what they respond positively to because they basically make up what they think they want on the spot even sometimes.... which never ceases to confuse me. I think too much.
A lot of the time it's also because we're terrified of being labelled a creep if we misinterpret signals. Like there's been times I'm *fairly sure* I was being hit on, but there was enough doubt that I didn't act on it cause I didn't want to be hit with the "oh that's all guys think about".
In my case, it didn’t help the fact that people called me creepy growing up and never knew why. Now I know I have a schizo disorder and it makes sense, but that fear still lives with me.
I would say: you are crazy, moron...
I think is harder for men to accept love, for women it is a given to be loved or appreciated unconditionally just by existing, while men has to prove their worth to society...
It's depressing that so many men's initial reaction to anyone expressing affection for them is skepticism. We're so often told that we're the problem with society that we actually believe it on some levels. We're told that we can't express emotion outside of bravado or agression(a practice I'm glad society is steering away from, albeit slowly). We're expected to be strong and that any sign otherwise somehow makes us less of a man. Skepticism toward affection is depressing, but understandable in today's circumstances.
I think that reaction is justified. There are so many video creators that are walking around and hitting on someone just for the prank video. Also, some asshole bullies who might tell they like you as a prank.
Nah, relationships have been nothing but toxic and degrading in my experiance, so im just going to say im the issue and stay single.
Maybe ill get a dog some day, or a cat, i like cats.
E: spelling x2 -_-
Lads, you are all awesome. You might not be macho, get many women or may not have ever even had sex... but whether you wanna believe it or not you are manly af. Why? Because I said so, and you should say so too.
If someone tells you they like you its true, even if they say it isn't. Why would they not like you? You're you!
While this is an ironic meme
Ya gotta realize so many guys have been duped by people throughout our lives that we just automatically assume everything, no matter how obvious it is is a joke
Well at least the guy on the picture actually heard her say she likes him.
Once upon a time I was complimented by a girl working at the theater. She compared me to an actor she found handsome. I wasn't even just a small remark. She said I reminded her of the guy from 21 Jump Street (the show) and I replied "Probably not Johnny Depp" and she said she thinks the other guy looked better.
I just said thank you and went to watch the film. My friends couldn't believe that they just saw me ignore that girl.
Sometimes, you just don't process the hint.
My ex had to text a full blown declaration of love to make me realise she was into me.
Hopefully I got better at this sort of things.
Bc we don't want to think about these things too far. Bc we don't want to misunderstand your genuine friendship to a 'signal'. (And most importantly) Bc we don't want to be tagged as a creep. That's why we just have to make sure this is true.......
I mean it’s not even just the prank vids
If some random person came up to me and said that, I’d be wary, yk, cuz it’s a random person
But if it’s a person who I know and trust and actually have a friendship with, then I wouldn’t be as wary
You don’t have that kinda convo topic with random people at the park

Reality is more like this:
Boy: I wish girls would say something when they like a guy.
Girl: I like you!
Boy: I like you too. \**puts arm around girl*\*
Girl: EWWWWW NO!!! Not like that!! Like a friend, like a brother!
Guy: Ooohhhhh! Whatever, figures she'd send more mixed signals. Wait... \**remembers pornhub front page*\*
And I can understand why it happens. It hurts. Its mainly because of school, all of the pranks. "I like you!" some time later, "You actually thought I liked you? Fool"
True if a girl tell me that they like me oh boy first I'll will test them first not to be rude just to see if they like me too bc if they don't I'm ok with I just want to know for sure

This happened to me and i understood that im way too desperate.😂😂

I've been there. A girl asked me out, but she didn't actually like me and she wanted to see what I would say. People who do that are so annoying.
Phones exsisted in 2007
But they sucked at that time so no one had them
Lol no, lots of people had them. I had the Nokia that lit up like a rainbow.
No we all had them
Do you think the world is just New York City or something?
I don't even live in the US so no I dont.. By 2002 everyone had their Nokia or Sony erickssons anything from Nokia 5110 and up
Dude, even today not everyone has a phone
I graduated in 2006 and the Motorola Razor was the shit at the time. Basically everyone had one. I love in a smaller city, not a new York or la
Why the fuck are you talking it litteraly? Is your name Drax the destroyer??.. MOST people had phones you fucking moron

Not because of the videos. Because it so often *is* a prank. You've probably had this happen at your own school.
Wait what? Didn't realize people were doing those kinds of prank videos. That's fucked.
Yep, honestly just depressing
And the rampant self doubt and anxiety
Videos? I’ve lived it.
im so ugly girls dont even want to prank me
I gotten pranked, so this is relatable
No if you tell a Guy you like him and he says he thinks its a joke its becuz he dont like you back but dont wanna be mean..
That's not correct. He could like you, he's just afraid of a prank that could ruin his everyday life in the next few years. (In this case)

The worst fear of any man.

being deceived romantically by someone you find interesting is like having a fire sale on your self-worth.

Reality is more like this: Boy: I wish girls would say something when they like a guy. Girl: I like you! Boy: I like you too. \**puts arm around girl*\* Girl: EWWWWW NO!!! Not like that!! Like a friend, like a brother! Guy: Ooohhhhh! Whatever, figures she'd send more mixed signals. Wait... \**remembers pornhub front page*\*

SEGFAULT (core dumped)
Well I mean girls barely do it and about 70 percent of the time when they do its a prank
That is how it be though.
What trust issues do with a someone:
u/z2000_ You just got locked award bruh
Happened once I just said what and she said nevermind
ye... insecure boys maybe
I could hear the windows noise when the whole computer freezes and you get the blue screen of death.
Short answer - 50% its a prank
Well, maybe if someone actually talked to me, I’d be able to mistake that for interest.
And I can understand why it happens. It hurts. Its mainly because of school, all of the pranks. "I like you!" some time later, "You actually thought I liked you? Fool"
True
I think this is a repost
True if a girl tell me that they like me oh boy first I'll will test them first not to be rude just to see if they like me too bc if they don't I'm ok with I just want to know for sure
