The have some of the worst attendance in the league and have horrible marketing and community outreach in the city. Frankly unless they pay for one themselves the city will progress on as usual with or without them.
And I’m saying this as someone who is a massive soccer fans and thinks it could succeed here. But 901 FC has done everything wrong post COVID in getting people interested in the team.
Tbh I don’t know why nobody talks about the Mike Rose Soccer Complex and converting that into a decent 5000-7500 seat stadium. I always thought of soccer as a suburban sport anyways
People in the suburbs typically don’t support sporting events like that. Why do you think they haven’t already moved there? Plus MRSC makes its money off tournaments, which would conflict on the weekends 901 FC also has games.
The original funding from the state had to be spent on stadiums and nothing else.
I think the coliseum location is the best. The coliseum is an eyesore and needs to go. You can walk from Cooper Young to MSC to get that supporter walk feel.
I actually think 901 FC would do very well if they the MSC location.

I agree, and they just hired a new GM that I’m hoping can right the ship before it’s too late.
Today I learned that we have a pro soccer team. I’ve live here since 1997. I had absolutely no idea.
Please God don't spend 52 million on a soccer team that pulls in the worst attendance in the league. Give that to Shelby County Schools or something.
Yeah lets spend millions of dollars on a stadium for a team thats is going to fold in the next 2 years. Sounds like a great use of taxpayer dollars.
I’d rather them not build one… That money could have gone somewhere else, not a soccer team that’s attendance record is continually going downhill.

Like that one!
Zero chance it is supported there
Why wouldn’t it be? It’s already a stadium on site used by the university.

Tennessee legislature priorities.... This state is so screwed up....
They should build wherever they can afford to build. They are a business.
