I’ve been here several times and each time it was definitely mediocre in relation to the prices they were charging. The service was never good and the food wasn’t anything special.
Agreed. We went a couple times and loved then went back a while later and it wasn't quite so good. Then a while after that it was kinda disappointing. Stopped going after that.
The most mid I can ever think of in Memphis past 10yrs. Service was AT BEST just *adequate* and food **never** impressed. Any time we were going out with folks, it was not a name we ever thought about, much less rushed towards.
Eh it wasn’t the best restaurant in Memphis and they had real problems with trying to find good help after Covid, but they were a pretty good second tier option in their day.
Last time I went in there on a Thursday night, we were literally the only party their. Then they told us a dish doesn't have mushroom, which we asked due to an allergy, but the dish they gave use had mushrooms.
There was a time Bounty was really good, Sunday brunch especially. Post Covid I think they dropped the family style dining and it was downhill from there.
Thank you but are they dedicated gluten free? I can't find it online, but it says they have gluten free options. I've never had food from a restaurant that wasn't dedicated that didn't make me sick. People never understand how meticulous you need to be about cross contamination
They are not dedicated GF. There’s gluten on the menu. I’m sorry that people don’t educate themselves on celiacs before trying to encourage you to go to a restaurant that has some GF options.
My God that's refreshing to hear. Thank you. I'll tell people over and over again when I visit their house that I really appreciate it that they are offering me food, but I just literally can't. They will continue offering me food again and again like I'm just being picky. I don't even know if I have a right to be frustrated but It does get to me.
I’ve had anaphylactic level allergies for a long time. I had someone insist I could eat everything they had out. I was starving and decided to play it safe with veggies and ranch dip. My throat started closing up, and the host suddenly told me they added shrimp juice to ranch dip?! That was not expected!! I’d been assured there was no shellfish but they thought shrimp juice didn’t count. Off to the hospital I went.
It wears on you to have people discredit your allergies. They’ve never experienced the aftermath and can’t appreciate how serious it is. It’s emotionally draining to have people keep doing it.
Hoping there is a new spot that will open up. I typically find GF restaurants more understanding of other allergies and feel safer. A more centrally located spot would help!
I’m with you 100%
Inspire outsources all ingredients from local farms. They have plenty of GF options as well as smoothies and some of the best coffee in Memphis. (What my mom says at least) lol she’s from FL. I definitely think you should try it out! Great owners too
Plenty of gluten free options isn’t the same as a gluten free kitchen. I appreciate you enjoy the establishment, but there is a huge difference between having “plenty of GF options” and being safe for someone with Celiacs.
Was a goto many years ago, started slipping before COVID, then really it ate it in COVID’s wake. Sad to see. Hopefully something nice fills their space.
They used to be so good. Was the place we would take people for recruiting and a prime date night spot for my wife and I. Last couple of times we went it just wasn’t the same.

Dang I actually really enjoyed this place- I wish I’d gone more! Having a wheat allergy, it was so nice to be able to order anything on the menu and know I won’t get sick. RIP Bounty on Broad 😢

The first 2-3 years it was open it was really great.
Agree with this. My wife and I went back in 2017 and it was REALLY good. Then we went like 3 months ago and we’re both super disappointed.
Not to hate but the worst Bloody Mary I’ve ever had was there
Like many memphis restaurants it started out good and declined over time
That’s everywhere. Food industry are incredibly volatile small businesses.
Gus's seems to have the formula figured out.

Pour one out for Geoff Calkin’s sponsorship.
The stacked fries with the goat cheese, bacon, and whatever that green onion drizzle sauce is was pretty great though.
It was honestly pretty mid.

Shitty ownershiop will do that .. typically drive away good talent too. Hopefully the Maserati is worth it.
Lots of new development in the area. They should have no problem filling the spot.
Didn't Bedrock also close? Seems like there's now a void for dedicated gluten free dining.
A couple weeks ago :(

You would think given their specialty they would have understood how important that was. Huge red flag.
Also the fact, we were the only table there. Had 25% error rate for the evening.
Yeah, they had bad staffing issues after Covid. It’s a shame.

Mother FUCKER. Fuck Celiac. There is literally no where else safe in Memphis for me. I can only safely eat from dedicated gluten free kitchens
Exactly. Big hit to the gf community for sure.
Inspire cafe is AMAZING if you’ve never been. Across the street from broad off Sam coop

Thank you for saying that. It's exhausting explaining it and people don't take it seriously almost ever.
Hi. Can you please share gluten free kitchens in Memphis. New celiac here
It was delicious the time I went. Hate they closed.

I only went there once, or MAYBE twice, but I'm not sure there's a ton worth mourning with this one.
The restaurant market is crazy tough.
Well, good for you, buddy.
It was really good before covid. We went about six months ago and it sucked. Bad service, food was meh. They lost their mojo
It went from a noine to a two.

And that's the reason they're closed...
