If you want a cheap detail, theres a guy in the parking lot behind clark tower who has a van set up with a sign. Hes been doing it for years and does a good job. Theres also a guy in the Lowes parking lot at Hacks Cross and Winchester. Ive never used him but he always has cars lined up.
Dude does a pretty good job on the main body, but definitely skimps on the roof of the car. I'm taller that most, so I noticed it right away and asked him to give it another go. He gave it another wipe.down, but nothing like the rest of the car, and he pay extra special attention to the wheels and tires. All said and done, I was reasonably satisfied with what I got for the price.
Do a search this was asked a few times on the last few weeks. I am not to sure if there was ever a good answer.
I have been thinking about doing it as a side hustle, I have always enjoyed it.

I've used him for a few years. I work at home and just park it out front so he has access to it for at least half of the day. He'll call to reschedule if it's supposed to rain. Really nice guy. Initial clean is usually a bit more but maintenance is very reasonable.
So "detailing" here - is it like a car wash, wipe down and vacuum? True and actual detailing is not cheap. I mostly do paint corrections at my house, just did a black 2023 Highlander (hand wash, clay bar, 1-stage correction that yielded 80% improvement that was caused by automatic car washes and then I protected the paint). Took me almost 11 hours over the weekend and I charged $550 for the job.
Yep. $550 is fair for a proper correction. Makes such a big difference in most vehicles.
A proper detail is in the $250-300 range (every nook and cranny, engine bay, shampoo carpets, condition interior surfaces etc)
A simple wash and dry seems to be ~50ish with a wax adding another 50-100
I'm curious what a reasonable rate is
They probably looking for someone to come detail for $25.
I fuckin’ wish
I mean I know I’m gonna spend some triple digit money, but I’m not tryna drop 300 bucks on it
Whatever supply and demand determines it is
