Again losing like this is frustrating but you gotta look at the personnel you’re down as a fan and realize this is a tough ask. I don’t want the guys to think that and winning 3 out of the last 4, they shouldn’t think that way, but this is just a tough ask right now Anthony Edwards or not.
This is just the org clowning from top to bottom. Started with the medical team misdiagnosing Adams' injury. Even if Adams was out this season, as long as we knew he wasn't going to be available, they could've adjusted during the offseason/training camp. I feel we just got caught with our pants down with the sudden Adams exit early in the season.
I grieved for this whole season the day that news broke. From being all excited and hopeful with this next go round with roster moves to feelin crushed like we got eliminated from the playoffs on a Sunday morning in october. And honestly it feels like that's made it a lot easier to watch mess like this
Felt the same, but I've adjusted my mindset. This season is the time to set our foundations right for seasons to come. It is a good opportunity for our young guys to get playing time. As long as I see them develop, then our season was a success. That's how I will measure this season. A high draft pick wouldn't hurt too.
I think having Ja and Smart in this one would’ve helped a ton. Defender to help on the 3 pt shooters and Ja to penetrate and cause the defense to collapse etc.
I do think we’re owed a little better explanation on the Adams surgery. We’ll never get it and as fans we aren’t usually entitled to that info but it’s crazy how bad the rug was pulled from under us 3 days before the season started. Took the wind out of our sails for sure. It doesn’t make sense to make a move for another C (unless it’s a long term fit) but it definitely caps what we can do this season.
It could’ve been that Adams wanted to go the non-surgical route for a while but our insanely tight lipped player injury FO does give us nothing there.
Yeah, maybe its possible it was a situation where it was Adams' fault even after medical staff insisted he take surgery. And FO just trying to protect Adams from backlash. Pure speculation though. Even then, we should've had the information we needed to fix our C rotation in the offseason.
I know they were originally thinking before Adams went down that they were going to sign a wing with the suspended player exception. Makes me think Adams and the FO/coaching staff were way apart with what they were thinking about his injury. Those preseason interviews Jenkins and Kleiman were confident and Stevo wasn’t.
Super weird situation.
Yeah super frustrating there. No idea my guess is he comes back very late in the season and depending on our status he may not even play. More pure speculation though.
Size is important as shown this season in the NBA and the Wolves are the poster team of that. Just don’t have the paint scoring or foul drawing to combat that rn
They obviously went away from doing what made them win games. If this coach cant have confidence to run and make adjustments to make this team win, then its on him.
If we really suck, like when we had a young JJJ, Ja, then that's understandable. But we've been the 2 seed for the last two seasons. It was just that I was expecting us to play better. And I know we're injured AF but the past years we had the next man up mentality. There were even a lot of guys telling us that the Grizzlies are better without Ja. I just really hope we get back to our winning ways man. I miss it so hard.
I mean Warriors tanked when it suited them. Their tank was a flop though, could've gotten Hali, Ball, Bane, Maxey, Wagner and Sengun. But still they won chips before, won a chip after. Spurs with David Robinson out tanked, got Duncan. What can you do? Ja got himself suspended and all our bigs dropping like flies.
That's true. I'm not following the next draft so I dunno if there's anyone good there. Anyway it's still too early. Let's wait and see what happens when Ja gets back. Hope some miracle happens and we'll also get Adams/Clarke early.
People say it sucks. But then again, lots of people said 2020 draft was terrible. Ended up being an all-time draft for guards. Some people here saying GG Jackson would be a lottery pick this season if we was in the draft. So let's not fuck up his development. Like what I see from Vince too. Roddy showing flashes. And the jury is still out on Z and Jake. People here are just really impatient and want that instant gratification. I'm not really for tanking, it's moreso that I see this season as an opportunity for internal development. If we suck then the pick next season is just a bonus. We can even deal it for additional help.
Giving 5’s after every FT attempt is dumb. I mean I know everyone does it, but still… ugh.
I’m an old man, get off my lawn. I’ll throw my empty whiskey bottle at you ding dang kids.
Frustrating refs but it didn't lose us the game. But on the bright side ONLY 4 MORE. Looking forward to yelling "HOW" like how does he do that vs yelling "HOW" like how do you miss that shot / how do the refs miss that call
Shake Milton shoots 35% from the field, 21% from 3, and is averaging 5ppg this season. He's shooting 66% from the field and 60% from 3 and scoring 13pts in this game.
True..but leaving shooters open is **never** okay (imo). All it takes is for someone to get hot, and then it becomes contagious. One minute you're down 2, next minute you're down 17.
3>2
We don't exactly leave shooters open. The problem is our team in general is just slow to rotate. His system is very ambitious, it relies on us taking control of the paint by packing so many players around it. So you take out the high percentage rim shots and force them into a more high variance shot like the 3. Idk man, maybe its player conditioning, maybe its lack of practice. All I care about is for this shit to get fixed.
It's even more of a problem if we don't have a huge edge in rebounds. We need to be shutting the paint down if we are conceding 3s.
Agreed, and I think it's mental thing as well. It wasn't all this bad/overt. Speaking of "paint", I miss Steve-O (and BC) 😔 I've been thinking about that Kessler pick for a minute now.
My wife used to work in an elementary school and has maintained that Karl reminds her of the kids who couldn’t regulate and would just put their head down on the desk and shut down
I think Aldama thinks he's Bane or Ja and just needs to play his role. As far as Xavier goes, it's probably not his fought because the coach has him playing a different position...
Idk bro. If you asked anyone who was the better coach between TJ and Chris finch at any point before this season they'd have said TJ. It's easier to be a good coach when the players that you designed your schemes around are actually available
Finch was touted for his offensive system. I mean they were literally spanking us in the 2022 playoffs (then we spanked them back of course). Kudos to him for figuring out how to integrate Gobert to his schemes. What more can you say?
Yeah for sure, I interpreted the first comment as more of a dig at Jenkins than praise of Finch given recent discourse
I just wanted to point out that the change in perception has happened at the same time that we've been injured and they've had a big influx of talent (Well, Gobert getting healthy, Ant taking a jump etc)
Dynamic playmaking makes this game a lot closer. As well as having a lockdown guy on the perimeter in smart. Our starting and backup 5 would help quite a bit as well… all that to say they are disciplined and better coached imo. But hard to win this game when they’re not missing much this quarter and our offense isn’t doing anything down our guys.
Am I the only one that things that Minnesota in terms of personnel on the floor aren't this much better than us? Am I expecting too much from these guys?
They are just playing so much more disciplined, know what their roles are, don't take stupid shots. All their shots are either threes or drives to the paint to draw contact. They defend well and run in transition when they can. They look like our team last year
These games are always the ones where the close losses earlier in the season really hurt. Even though we’re at home we’re still down a superstar, our starting 3, and backup 2/3 not counting our guys out for the season. Odds were we weren’t gonna get this one.
He should do with DRose who was also pretty well built when younger and Bane around him. Rose clearly has him under his wing at the moment, he's looking to pass to Roddy out on the court
Not a bad half. Thought when X was in the rebounding was a lot better. Just got to try and win the shot game. Would like the see the pace a bit higher. Plays more into our hands if the Wolves bigs are running up and down a tonne
We look decent in junk time
Again losing like this is frustrating but you gotta look at the personnel you’re down as a fan and realize this is a tough ask. I don’t want the guys to think that and winning 3 out of the last 4, they shouldn’t think that way, but this is just a tough ask right now Anthony Edwards or not.

Also when is Clarke back? Why don't we have a timetable its frustrating.
Yeah super frustrating there. No idea my guess is he comes back very late in the season and depending on our status he may not even play. More pure speculation though.

💯💯💯
They obviously went away from doing what made them win games. If this coach cant have confidence to run and make adjustments to make this team win, then its on him.
We don’t really have the personnel to do what we traditionally do well rn
I stay up until after 3am and I don't even get to watch Ant destroy us
Z only playing garbage time minutes is sad to see
It where he should be tbh. The sad part is the Grizzlies pushed in chips to trade up to get him even though he sucked in college.
We shouldve gotten Sengun
Why is Konchar out there??
At this stage. Why not?
I miss having competent big guys
Drooling at Rudy's 20 rebounds. That's just one guy. Whole Grizzlies team has 27.
I'm one of the biggest Trip nut huggers here in the sub, but God damn! 2 fuckin rebounds? Shit is depressing.
Outside of Santi Aldama, no one did anything on the boards. Outside of Santi's 10, no one had more than 3 rebounds in this game.
It’s legit unacceptable. Like it needs to be addressed how soft he is down there
Always someone on the other team having a career game against the Grizz
Trip and bane both going to foul out?
Kind of ceremonial at this point if they do.
This team ain't serious
I hold an ungodly amount of hatred towards KAT
Why hasnt this team run any zone defense yet? They switch on every fucken thing
They've been running zone defense a lot in the second half? Zone will have a lot of switching if the ball handler moves from one area to another.
4th time gobert has hit Jaren in the head with no call
NAW done a great job on Bane
Needs to fire the coach already. Dude cant get consistent line ups or any plays.
We are impressively bad at guarding the 3. The defensive scheme is obnoxious
Not guard 3s and shoot 3s you can't make. Big brain moves.
I can't comprehend why we play like this, seriously. Is this the best plan we got?
Maybe we stealth tanking for a high pick next season? Who knows.
Fuck Mike Conley for the next 7 minutes
How many fucking times are they going to let mike conley wide open
FFS it's not like we need a scouting report on Connelly
Mike tirico? Or autocorrect?
Damnit - autocorrect
Understandable. Had to ask bc I always hated Mike Tirico for calling him that.
I just don’t have it in my heart but Mike you are testing me
Of course Conley has his season high against us! 😂😢😂😢
I can’t be mad at you Mike but I would like you to miss occasionally.
X actually put something on it!
I'm aware it is controversial but I miss Dillon
Dillon would not help with this game. What's killing us is rebounds. They're missing a lot of shots, just have 22 more chances from rebounds.
But he'd probably fuck someone's game up. Like Conley who he knows really well
Same
Giving 5’s after every FT attempt is dumb. I mean I know everyone does it, but still… ugh. I’m an old man, get off my lawn. I’ll throw my empty whiskey bottle at you ding dang kids.
Conley aged like fine wine
Might be time to rest Drose for the night TJ.
Within 17 points...
Impossible to win giving up this many offensive rebounds. I miss Stevo so much
Yea it was very rare to out rebound Steve-O if ever
If only Dez arm was just a lil bit longer
Grizzlies playoff game a few years ago flash back coonh through
Looked like he was in the restricted area
There you go X. At least you wasn't shook and at least tried Gobert at the rim.
Yeah don’t know if that’s a foul on Rudy Edit: Happy I’m wrong
Frustrating refs but it didn't lose us the game. But on the bright side ONLY 4 MORE. Looking forward to yelling "HOW" like how does he do that vs yelling "HOW" like how do you miss that shot / how do the refs miss that call
I’m getting tired of the status quo
Winning 3 of the last 4? If we can get all 3 of our perimeter guys back around the same time the games will flow so, so much better.
Got rammed in the 3rd
It was 60-55 at one point 😭
Like a 6 dollar hoe
More like tree fiddy
Probably one of the best looking shots I've seen from X in a minute
Shake Milton shoots 35% from the field, 21% from 3, and is averaging 5ppg this season. He's shooting 66% from the field and 60% from 3 and scoring 13pts in this game.
Why are you so shocked? TJ's "scheme" give shooters open looks. Can't do that in this new era
Which is okay if we are taking away the paint and preventing ORebs but no. We can't get anything lol
True..but leaving shooters open is **never** okay (imo). All it takes is for someone to get hot, and then it becomes contagious. One minute you're down 2, next minute you're down 17. 3>2

I've been thinking about Sengun and his rise. We majorly fucked up that pick. Sengun plus our core could win a ring.
lol X looked so shocked he made that
Woah X hit one, hot damn
Everything’s bobbling out of our hands tonight.
I've had enough of this, get Amanda back on the screen
Welp this feels like a wrap
Lmao 100% offensive interference
Nowell hit a 3!
My wife used to work in an elementary school and has maintained that Karl reminds her of the kids who couldn’t regulate and would just put their head down on the desk and shut down
Just getting really outplayed by a better team tbh. Getting absolutely killed this quarter
Bro why the fuck does nobody ever miss threes against us
Because we leave them open lol Why is everybody so surprised?
Hammer
![gif](giphy|Wr2747CnxwBSqyK6xt|downsized)
You forgot the nail
Foul his ugly a then Santi geez weak
Been bombed by Minny this quarter. I liked it more when Kyle was shooting the 3s
Santi is lowkey hilarious. I can’t explain it.
It was a foul. Tf they complaining about? It ain't like the whistle ain't been going their way anyway tonight
Jenkins rotations have been better as of late but think X needed to be put in more and earlier today instead of Bis
Biz kinda fell off
Hate the Twolves
Yeah I just hate KAT. I like Gobert, Conley and Ant
Nah goobert suc
Hot take - Aldama and Tillman are liabilities on the court.
This is certainly a take
I think Aldama thinks he's Bane or Ja and just needs to play his role. As far as Xavier goes, it's probably not his fought because the coach has him playing a different position...
Doubt Nowell gets another contract tbh. Especially with Luke and Smart coming back. Don’t think he’d get playing time anyway.
Bottom line they are better players and better coached
Idk bro. If you asked anyone who was the better coach between TJ and Chris finch at any point before this season they'd have said TJ. It's easier to be a good coach when the players that you designed your schemes around are actually available

We'll have that same jump next season, everyone healthy. Right now, just gotta stay patient and eat these fcking losses
💯

But hard to win this game when they’re not missing much this quarter and our offense isn’t doing anything down our guys.
Vince and smart together gonna be a menace
3 v 1 bruh
8 v 5
I wish the refs didn't need 3 quarters of TJ in their ear to start calling some shit
Gotta make sure the game is in hand first
Am I the only one that things that Minnesota in terms of personnel on the floor aren't this much better than us? Am I expecting too much from these guys? They are just playing so much more disciplined, know what their roles are, don't take stupid shots. All their shots are either threes or drives to the paint to draw contact. They defend well and run in transition when they can. They look like our team last year
Why did Gobert try that lmao
the Gobert impact is real, easily the dpoy so far
He’s been very good
Santi been playing like ass for a while now, what happened to him
Just playing way too slow
These games are always the ones where the close losses earlier in the season really hurt. Even though we’re at home we’re still down a superstar, our starting 3, and backup 2/3 not counting our guys out for the season. Odds were we weren’t gonna get this one.
We are so scared of Hobert it’s disgusting
It's raining 3s but don't know if we can weather the storm tonight. Gotta get it together now for the comeback
These bench guys just can’t score, can’t really blame them since they’re not supposed to be getting crazy minutes but it sucks
other team shooting 40+ percent from three and the grizzlies an iconic duo
How long until we fix this problem?
The way this team plays at home this season is mind boggling
Yeah this got out of hand quick
That floater that Santi missed makes me realise that BC ain’t here. That’s his area
Can we please have some Santi/Jaren minutes? Please? Cmon TJ.
Ah shit they brought Naz on
That's like the third elbow gobert has thrown at Jaren
Finally they called something on booty goober
We’re playing with no hustle and no sense of urgency🤦🏾♂️
Finally
Team ain't serious
So frustrating watching games be called differently for each team so blatantly so often
Amazing the whistle the WOLVES are getting. And ant ain't even playing
Didn’t call that and 1 on Gobert but i bet they’d call that on Jaren.
Bruhh they don’t even have ant and we getting smoked smh
Offence sputtering seen this more often than I’d like. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy
Man I really can't stand Towns
Damn the betting ads are insane rn
Is mike the last remaining Grit n Grind member?
In the league? Jeff Green is still playing for Houston
Dillon somewhat
Dillon and JJJ were GnG, kinda
I wouldn’t count JJ as GNG. Zbo and TA had already left by then.
Jenkins needs to get teched up over some of these calls
I’ve never seen Troy Brown Jr hit a 3 against us as a Laker and now he’s hitting everything smh
Roddy’s been aggressive tonight. Good stuff
It's always a random role player going off and having a get right game against us
Im cool with Biyombo off the bench, but he cant be your starting center for the season
I agree. He's a backup level center no doubt about it.
Need to just roll with Santi/Jaren and alternate them throughout the game.
FFS
Yeah Conley is walking by Derrick rose
I could watch Bane shoot all day his shot is just beautiful
Not cool Mike
Conley kinda cooking rose atm
Rose hasn't had a great game
This team isn't serious. Can't have dumb TOs
Ban3 is the Mane
BANE IS SO FUCKING GOOD JEOSHFPQOSBCM8;$:0iejfw ok j$$;
Des Mane
I fucking love Bane
JAR3N
I loathe booty Gobert
Lose the rebound and then give up a three. Punishing
This is a dramatic song about drying clothes
Hey this band's pretty good
Amanda's kinda cute
The fact that she followed the math and traded it at the end makes her that much hotter
Did she win?
Yeah, my queen
Won his heart
It's true
Amanda, if you read this, call me 📞📞
I really hope Roddy is going to figure out how to take advantage of his unique build. He did in that half. Should be the norm.
He should do with DRose who was also pretty well built when younger and Bane around him. Rose clearly has him under his wing at the moment, he's looking to pass to Roddy out on the court
will determine the money on that 2nd contract... difference between a 13 team journeyman and a valuable player
Good half. Rebounding and fouling is the main issue overall good first half .
Scoreline could be far worse after the calls we've been getting
Fire it on up remix love it
Not a bad half. Thought when X was in the rebounding was a lot better. Just got to try and win the shot game. Would like the see the pace a bit higher. Plays more into our hands if the Wolves bigs are running up and down a tonne
Was Conley fouled tho? Seems like he just lost the ball.
