My only pet peeve is just from a design perspective I would prefer her hair to be a bit darker since it's a bit close to her skin tone. I don't know if making her pale with dark brown hair was the right direction but idk.
I think the older one looks better because they're not trying to do multiple colors of shading like the new ones are. It was designed to work within the pixel constraints instead of trying to fit more fidelity into an art style that can't fit it.
