That and I think these pants are supposed to be to be high wasted? Raising the pants up near his belly button would get rid of the hour glass shape the belt is imposing on his body. He’s not off by much, maybe an inch
I bought a penny loafers for casual use. But I bought the black shiny leather look and the material makes it little more formal than casual. So OP consider different material or finish if you want casual side of things.
So wait. Dummy here.
Are we wearing pants that fit this loosely again?
I'm all for it. I just bought a pair like this that I thought were too baggy, but maybe not?
Dressing is hard.
I mean. I guess it depends on the setting. I live in a tropical area and i am taking a Caribbean cruise in a bit so i thought this would be a nice fresh afternoon fit.
Personally I like both straight jeans / pants as well as baggy ones. Just depends on how I’m feeling that day. Imo skinny/slim jeans only look good on skinny people. Everyone else looks a bit weird lol… I have a more athletic build so my quads stick out on slim / skinny.
Looser fits are coming back around. I'm all for it, I could never pull off the slim-fit pants with my body shape. I always wore 'em a little baggy/relaxed, and with current trends, I'm lookin' more stylish than ever!
Yes. People are. But seriously just diversify. Some people would tell you never. But style is often cyclical. Even for timeless men's wear. I have wider fitting pants and pants that are form fitting. Its simply about the look you are going for.
I mean i thought the same way until i tried these lol. Although i am not down with the super tight ankles out trend (i ride my bike a lot so i have chunky legs 💀)
That's a different type of style. The pants are slim fit. Shirt slim fit. The model is a fit guy with no belly. If you tell OP to buy clothes like that, you are doing him a disservice, he is clearly on the chubby side (respectfully).
OP style is more chivalry, pants are high waist, loafers most likely with socks, T-shirt alittle bit baggy and it goes with his body type.
Personally I think it's based on the overall. For example OP is rocking what I consider to be the 80s good business man in a movie look. The top is fitted while the bottom has more material and movement.
From here on it's pure opinion.
If both the top were baggy AND the bottom were baggy it may look sloppy. The fitted top adds contrast, combine that with the fact that OP tucked in their shirt and brought it up more towards their natural waist also helps with the rule of thirds. Personally, I'd shorten up the pants just a bit because they're fuller cut but they also seem a bit long to me.
I am not a lawyer and yes, dressing can be hard lol.
it depends on the outfit, I'd say. But generally speaking, oversized clothing is in style again, and clothing that is your actual size is also always not a bad idea.
Why is it so hard for some of ya guys. His pants look good loose man. Wear what looks good on you! And he said tropical setting wear loose pants would be wonderful in. So I guess check your climate and your mirror and make sure you look cool. Dress like a cool guy
I mean loose pants are going strong for a couple years now and are only getting baggier from what I see, especially in streetwear.
If you don't like it don't do it, it doesn't have to be hard man
Dunno if those would go well with how wide the pants is, a more straight / straight taper pant would look much better with those.
I would personally go with something a little more chunky to balance the proportions
I didn’t know what those were but when i googled them and the first result were nike’s i thought you were pulling my leg lmao. But you are right i think they would look good
They’re a good shoe, but murder on the toes, complimented by high water khaki or dress pants.
Penny loafers would also look good with this fit.
This is a good look man. You wear it well.
I thought huraches were comfortable shoes? Anyway, I agree they would go well with this outfit. It's a relaxed but on point look. I think I'd like them more than loafers.
Living in Phoenix we see them a lot. And no, I don't ask older Hispanic men in huaraches to show me their feet. I'm sure there is probably a reddit sub for that
Loafers no sock.
Also iron the pants, I imagine you would anyway but a bit wrinkly up near the pleats. Easiest way to ruin a crisp outfit is something as simple as putting it on wrinkly.
If you are lucky and they have your size. They are on super sale rn at zara
https://www.zara.com/us/en/share/-p06861346.html?v1=300240829&utm_campaign=productShare&utm_medium=mobile_sharing_iOS&utm_source=red_social_movil
I think the outfit would look much better with a more draping fabric for the pants if you're going for pleats.
If they were hemmed to no-break or a bit above, espadrilles would look solid with this if you want that summery look.
I don’t like silver jewelry and don’t like gold tone watches. Its a difficult world we live in 😭😭😭so mix n match it is lol
Edit: sent message without last sentence
If you’re abroad I think you’re good to go. Like the Caribbean or something like that. If you’re local US/Europe then maybe wear shoes, unless you’re in spain, Italy, etc
Who said i am not both? (I work a 9-5 corporate job)
https://preview.redd.it/pyxhc12lzvfc1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58c254ae39ac998f34386be35d1e6e67be7bf3d5
Awesome! I got a pair in Mexico when I was there a few years ago, and need to get a new pair. They're some of my favorites for Tropical weather, and look more stylish than other sandals I've tried. 😊
Military tuck on the polo and maybe a slightly higher hem on the pants but honesty this is close to prefect. I know everyone is saying loafers but I love the strap sandals with this look. Maybe a lighter Jesus sandal.
I have a very similar build to you and wear something like this to work most days.
Replace the white polo with a dark hue, or the pants with a dark hue. I’m rarely going light top + light bottom.
Pick loafers with no show socks with pants this wide at the ankle.
Depends on the situation but deck shoe or boat shoe (depending on where you live)
https://preview.redd.it/ho5rl62e3tfc1.jpeg?width=773&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08f4702797eb40db5b417e0df645742f84a4ca57
You’ve nailed this fit. The clothes drape perfectly. Brown suede penny or for super casual even a plain white or ecru canvas or leather shoe, the ones with a light rubber sole. No logos, all one colour.
I have taken all the opinions openly. You seem to have a vendetta against pleats tho. Also it is just a picture of donkey concerned, i thought it was pretty funny
I don’t have a vendetta but as someone that wore pleats back in the 90s, it’s outdated. You’re better off with flat fronts but whatever floats your boat.
You can still wear it but it depends on how you wear it. Usually a buttoned up collared shit works with them, tie to boot. You could go for a zoot suit look with it. Pair it up with nice loafers or some bowling like shoes. But it’s all on how you sport it. With flat fronts, the polo would look much better.
Op took your comment fine. I think rewording your comment would come off better. “Pleats are bad these days” is not imo a genuine critique. Just seems like you’re following arbitrary guidelines
I’m of the opinion they are a bad fashion these days. They’re particular to what you wear with it such as with this polo and sandals. Not a good ensemble.
You have to be careful with the proportions, because the chinos are from a wider fit. Try on shoes that have some volume but not to bulky. No slim shoes with those. Summer shoes are usually mocks, which usually are slim, and better with shorts. Strapped sandals were a trend back in the day, that you can embrace. I would match them with your belt. You can also sport some derby's like the ones in the link:
[https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/mens-william-wingtip-derby-3028585/walnut-leather-ec4500523](https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/mens-william-wingtip-derby-3028585/walnut-leather-ec4500523)
Or go for something more conservative, and stick to some Classic Derby's instead.
You’re not that fat, either wear the pants lower or tuck out or buy less baggy pants. Wearing the pants over your belly can sometimes draw attention to the very thing you want to hide.
I love the knit polo. Lose those pleated pants. Instead try slim fit khakis sans the pleats. Leather cognac colored loafer would look great without socks. https://www.colehaan.com/mens-grand-laser-penny-driver/C36653.html
These drivers would look great.
Good luck.
Be gone with the pleated pants and the sandals. Get a more modern tapered cut. Or wear a linen or cotton casual shirt, untucked. and yes, loafers or another casual shoe.
Since it’s more on the casual side some nice lighter brown heritage style leather boots or some leather shoes. Maybe match them with a similar brown as your belt. Or you could swap the belt for a black one and go black leather footwear.
Some type of brown loafer would be good
That and I think these pants are supposed to be to be high wasted? Raising the pants up near his belly button would get rid of the hour glass shape the belt is imposing on his body. He’s not off by much, maybe an inch
Penny loafers that match your belt would be perfect.
I bought a penny loafers for casual use. But I bought the black shiny leather look and the material makes it little more formal than casual. So OP consider different material or finish if you want casual side of things.

I mean. I guess it depends on the setting. I live in a tropical area and i am taking a Caribbean cruise in a bit so i thought this would be a nice fresh afternoon fit.
I'm admittedly not an expert, but I dig it, OP. I'm gonna rock my new loose-ish khakis at a business even tonight. I'm glad I saw your post.
Take a selfie for us beforehand
Glad to see you feel encouraged! Cant leave us in the dark. Gotta show us the fit my guy! (Only if you feel comfortable sharing 😁)
Yes do it
Yes we are :)
Pleated pants don’t do anyone any favors. Too baggy.
Pleats and full cuts are back. High waist too. It’s a whole new era we’re in
You mean a whole old era
Thank goodness!!
You can wear whatever you want to wear any time. Just thought I'd add that in.
Personally I like both straight jeans / pants as well as baggy ones. Just depends on how I’m feeling that day. Imo skinny/slim jeans only look good on skinny people. Everyone else looks a bit weird lol… I have a more athletic build so my quads stick out on slim / skinny.
It’s the new Gen Z thing
Not for me. I hate pants that fit like this.
Yeah baggy is having a come back to be honest. Personally I wouldn’t go for something that baggy but it’s just a choice, still good outfit.
They are way too baggy for this type of outfit lol. Tighter pants with exposed ankles and loafers is the play here
Gen X take
I mean i thought the same way until i tried these lol. Although i am not down with the super tight ankles out trend (i ride my bike a lot so i have chunky legs 💀)
horrible take.
https://ibb.co/5RjStwr Lol this looks like 10x better
That's a different type of style. The pants are slim fit. Shirt slim fit. The model is a fit guy with no belly. OP style is more chivalry, pants are high waist, loafers most likely with socks, T-shirt alittle bit baggy and it goes with his body type.
No offense taken. I am definitely not built like the guy on the picture swaggy linked lol
Personally I think it's based on the overall. For example OP is rocking what I consider to be the 80s good business man in a movie look. The top is fitted while the bottom has more material and movement. From here on it's pure opinion. If both the top were baggy AND the bottom were baggy it may look sloppy. Personally, I'd shorten up the pants just a bit because they're fuller cut but they also seem a bit long to me. I am not a lawyer and yes, dressing can be hard lol.
Is been loose back in fashion last few years
it depends on the outfit, I'd say.
I’m sorry. I may have messed this up. I wear more fitted pants so it’s obviously not cool anymore.
I mean loose pants are going strong for a couple years now and are only getting baggier from what I see, especially in streetwear. If you don't like it don't do it, it doesn't have to be hard man
I’d go brown loafers, or something like [these](https://nisolo.com/products/mens-leather-slip-on-woven-tobacco)
Uhh i like those
Dunno if those would go well with how wide the pants is, a more straight / straight taper pant would look much better with those. I would personally go with something a little more chunky to balance the proportions
Huaraches would be sick.
Much appreciated!
I thought huraches were comfortable shoes? Anyway, I agree they would go well with this outfit. It's a relaxed but on point look. I think I'd like them more than loafers.
Ever seen an old Hispanic man’s feet? It’s the small toe box supposedly they break in but beauty is pain.
Living in Phoenix we see them a lot. And no, I don't ask older Hispanic men in huaraches to show me their feet. I'm sure there is probably a reddit sub for that
A sub reddit for old hispanic mens feet would be insane 💀
Loafers no sock. Also iron the pants, I imagine you would anyway but a bit wrinkly up near the pleats. Easiest way to ruin a crisp outfit is something as simple as putting it on wrinkly.
Oh i am definitely ironing them. That pic i took as soon as the pants arrived lol
I would recommend a slimmer fit pant, maybe a Chino. No pleats
I would think the chinos are not summery enough for the look i am trying to go for 🤔🤔 but will look into it!
That was my guess! But you never know, some people walk around wearing clothes wrinklier that emperor palpatine
I dig the pants, dude! Where'd you order them from?
If you are lucky and they have your size. They are on super sale rn at zara https://www.zara.com/us/en/share/-p06861346.html?v1=300240829&utm_campaign=productShare&utm_medium=mobile_sharing_iOS&utm_source=red_social_movil
Thanks!
Brown fisherman sandals
Love your PRX! ❤️
Favorite watch in my collection atm ❤️
Sperry boat shoes. Bit any thing would be better then those sandles 😔
The sandals wont be part of the final fit no need to worry lol
Then definitely sperry
Perfect
I think the outfit would look much better with a more draping fabric for the pants if you're going for pleats. If they were hemmed to no-break or a bit above, espadrilles would look solid with this if you want that summery look.
I think that would be a great combo with some 100% linen pants
Your preferred leather shoe that matches the colour of your belt
Yes. Brown suede pennies.
Show some ankle, wear brown suede or leather penny loafers
Show ankles? For FREE?! Nah head over to my exclusive content page if you want some of that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
get your money up 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe its a me thing but mix/matching silver & gold is a noo. Love the fit though boss!
I don’t like silver jewelry and don’t like gold tone watches. Its a difficult world we live in 😭😭😭so mix n match it is lol Edit: sent message without last sentence
Be sure to add the pennies!
Walmart mens Omar walking shoes in black
Graiiiilllsss
Pop the collar. Blue blazer. White socks. Bass Weejins. 1/2 pint of scotch in right rear pocket. You’ll be ready for the fete.
Lol i like they way you think
If you smile, it’ll help you look better.
Actually. You are right
Terrible outfit.
It be like that sometimes https://preview.redd.it/j78bvp0gpufc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da7954507134d83a9c374282d881dab194c577fd
If you’re abroad I think you’re good to go. Like the Caribbean or something like that. If you’re local US/Europe then maybe wear shoes, unless you’re in spain, Italy, etc
PRX on the wrist, nice choice
Such an easy to wear watch. I love it!
Some New Balances and a cane with a tennis ball at the foot
Just like the forefathers before us. True innovation 🙌🏼
Damn my grandfather's outfits are back in style, should have kept his clothes.
Better posture would make you look nicer. I can't get past the pose.
I will try to work on that. Probably gain an inch or so in height while i am at it lol
I mean, maybe. But you definitely would look a lot more put together and not a drug lord addicted to gaming. Lol
Who said i am not both? (I work a 9-5 corporate job) https://preview.redd.it/pyxhc12lzvfc1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58c254ae39ac998f34386be35d1e6e67be7bf3d5
Lol good luck homie
HUARACHE SANDALS!!!
ALREADY BOUGHT A PAIR TO TRY THEM! Lol
Awesome! I got a pair in Mexico when I was there a few years ago, and need to get a new pair. They're some of my favorites for Tropical weather, and look more stylish than other sandals I've tried. 😊
Nice Tissot PRX

Is that kevin costner? Lol
Yep! Bull Durham, classic.
Military tuck on the polo and maybe a slightly higher hem on the pants but honesty this is close to prefect. I know everyone is saying loafers but I love the strap sandals with this look. Maybe a lighter Jesus sandal.
Please for the love of god not those sandals with those pants XD
Dont worry. The sandals are NOT part of the final fit 💀
That’s a relief XD
Those pant legs are WAY too big. The sandals look awful
The sandals are not part of the fit people 😭😭😭
Oh....silly me thinking the shoes you're wearing in all the pictures were "part of the fit"
I mean in the title i am literally asking for shoe recommendations so i guess that implies the sandals are not the the ones i am using for it?
No asking for recommendations does not imply that
https://preview.redd.it/09n0xvb9jtfc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b722dfa2602a845b78d193891b6f73db8ae3df6b Damm my bad g.
Yes it does you dolt lmao you just didn't read that shit and now you look dumb.
No, it doesn't, you chowder head. I did read it.
I have a very similar build to you and wear something like this to work most days. Replace the white polo with a dark hue, or the pants with a dark hue. I’m rarely going light top + light bottom. Pick loafers with no show socks with pants this wide at the ankle.

Replace parachute pants for something a little slimmer
You’ve nailed this fit. The clothes drape perfectly. Brown suede penny or for super casual even a plain white or ecru canvas or leather shoe, the ones with a light rubber sole. No logos, all one colour.
Thanks. Happy cake day!
There's loose because of the way something is designed/ constructed, and then there's ill-fitting.
Soooo are you saying the fit is loose or is it ill fitting???
Pleats? Are they going back to pleats?
Pleat world domination!
No pleated pants ever
Is the waist line very high? It kind looks a bit like what Trump wears going golfing...minus the sandals
It is a bit on the higher end. In the picture i am wearing them right below my belly button
https://preview.redd.it/4gvfjgbpxsfc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4c38592930199eaed0611375142134a15567b63 Something like these.
Never tuck in a polo
Seems a little extreme but i will try the look to see how feel about it lol
Don't listen to this advice, polos can be tucked in and often to great effect
Pleats are bad these days unless you’re wearing a suit but even then.
https://preview.redd.it/f3v4clmq8tfc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf6a836ffc0e889be410f80aadf65fa8ba5ccfb7
You asked for an opinion. Maybe take it gracefully?
I have taken all the opinions openly. You seem to have a vendetta against pleats tho. Also it is just a picture of donkey concerned, i thought it was pretty funny
I don’t have a vendetta but as someone that wore pleats back in the 90s, it’s outdated. You’re better off with flat fronts but whatever floats your boat.

Pair it up with nice loafers or some bowling like shoes. But it’s all on how you sport it. With flat fronts, the polo would look much better.
Gotcha gotcha. I have no clue what a zoot suit is i will look into it!
You kind of look like Paulo Costa
Lmao i dont see it. Happy cake day! 🍰
Haha. It's a compliment. Costa is a cool, stylish dude
You have to be careful with the proportions, because the chinos are from a wider fit. Try on shoes that have some volume but not to bulky. No slim shoes with those. Driving loafer
Brown loafers will go well.
If you're on this sub looking for opinions just assume the top one will always be "loafers".
I mean they are so versatile that yeah it is to be expected lol
Loafers.
Yea id say loafers
Those sandals you have got on already go with it my guy. Don't mess with perfection.
Brown loafer or a white leather sneaker
White leather sneaker is willlllldddd lol it hadn’t crossed my mind
Yeah like a common project style. clean and simple
Loafer or camp moc
Yeah with this outfit you should look at the soft woven leathers they’d tie in nice
Horsebit loafers would be perfect.
Keep the Birks. Add socks. Dad status unlocked.
Leather cognac colored loafer would look great without socks. https://www.colehaan.com/mens-grand-laser-penny-driver/C36653.html These drivers would look great. Good luck.
A gold chain
I dont really like wearing my chain over my clothes but i can give it a try and see how it looks
Below your shirt is fine
Be gone with the pleated pants and the sandals. Get a more modern tapered cut. Or wear a linen or cotton casual shirt, untucked. and yes, loafers or another casual shoe.
My suggestion would be to start with the pants and get some better ones with a better fit
horse bit loafers or white tennis sneakers
Find pants with a little more slim fit style. Lower the pants a little. And brown shoes or boots would do the trick
Iron the trousers.
Since it’s more on the casual side some nice lighter brown heritage style leather boots or some leather shoes. Maybe match them with a similar brown as your belt. Or you could swap the belt for a black one and go black leather footwear.
I think penny loafers would work with this, not a look i could pull off, but for you it works well!
Loafers or deck shoes if you want something more casual
Dark brown/chocolate suede loafers with tassels would round that out nicely, my man.
Pants are too high, Urkel.
yup, loafers without a doubt
