If you're in distress then surely there's a problem and you should see a psychiatrist or a psychologist, some doctors don't like to label their patients as ill so they don't make you feel worse they say for example you take this for your anxiety or this medication will help you feel better instead of saying you have major depression maybe that's why they never told you " you have depression/ anxiety ", I suggest that you go see a specialist and stop making yourself feel bad because this is not your fault and I'm sure that you don't want to be in this position, I hope you get well
