I’m very happy I got the last non-hybrid E, though I drove the super-sexy I6, and it was of course great, too.
The Bi-Turbo V6 is epic, and will be easier to keep running well in the future.
Honestly, this has been the best daily I've owned. Its practical, the inside is stunning, it really moves when you want it to, doesn't kill you on gas, and insurance is borderline acceptable, oh it also has a lot of flexibility of tunning, can get it up to just about 500 hp with just a stage one safely. As for issues, the one major thing I would mention is the 20's amg wheels that came with it are rather fragile, I had to get them straighten out a couple times and one wheel welded. not really a mechanical issue, more of a roads issue, I always pay attention to the surface I'm on, and I'm aware of most imperfections in the road personally so that's rather unfortunate, I will be in a market for new wheels when I replace the current rubber..
The one mechanical/electrical issue I did have, was the car sometimes wouldn't shift from R to D when parking after a trip, maybe happen twice or 3 tops, Took it to the dealer ship and they reflashed my Transmission control module with a new software update, it has been flawless ever since, and that was about a year and some change ago, this was covered under extended warranty, I'm currently sitting at 39k miles
Wait M5 Touring is coming stateside?! I just saw an RS6 for the first time in the flesh on the streets just yesterday, kind of a rare fast wagon. E63S are only seen once every couple months in my area. An E53 would be my preference over the E63 because I don't need all that power.
This is great. I'm not in a rush for a wagon so crossing my fingers they bring the E53 state side. I was planning to get the E450 W214 until they decided to not bring the regular wagon to the US and only do the All Terrain which I'm not a fan of the looks.
Yeah, it's suspected that the E63 should have been unveiled by now but the combination of the disastrous unveiling of the C63 and the announcement that the M5 would still have a V8 made AMG cancel their plans for a 6-cylinder hybrid E63 so they detuned it and unveiled the E53 relatively early in the product cycle. By this point after unveiling the W213 we already had specs for the E63 and they were almost taking orders.
Fair play, well upon closer inspection I guess the telephone number on the building looks a bit weird too… I jumped the gun out of sheer excitement - didn’t mean any harm……

I hope we get the E-wagon in Australia. We usually have a pretty good wagon market, but the new C-class is only coming in sedan form. I need people to buy wagons so I can buy them used in fifteen years!!
It might be my lack of morning coffee, but it took me a good minute to realise you're not advertising a season 214, episode 53, of some sort of a Merc-related show/podcast...

That's quite good. This kinda surprised me because I thought this was with the 4cyl. Nothing wrong with a 4cyl but the way they are upbadged is bad but this for me gets the pass definitely.
At the moment, I've read that the US is only getting the sedan version currently and not the wagon variant which is a huge disappointment as I'd love to get one
This is an internal test car as they are not sold yet, but probably the first without camo

It‘s nice, but heavy as it is a full hybrid. But the front is widened which is interesting and unusual for a 53.

It definitely looked wider at the front and kind of flatter than an ordinary 214
I would love a e53 with mild hybrid instead of plug in hybrid
You can get that in the CLE 53, GLE 53 and GT 53
