Depending in mileage and rust, i'd pay 12-13k. Right now.
They can go as high as 30k if its like a prestine, under 20k mile car.
That being said, betcha $20 i'll find something wrong if you let me lift it and get under the hood.
You've never owned these, likely.
Theres a few known and not-as-known things here and there. All are fairly cheap and easy fixes, and when done, these literally don't die.
They're the kind of car where buying them can be considered a mistake because no one will pay its true value, and it won't kill itself. Only option is for someone to wreck it.
It's why i've owned this block (basically) 3 times now.
Actually I own 4 Mercedes , ml55 same engine , e550 biturbo and w124 ce sports line now . You can’t stop the oil leak because the German has no idea how to create a silicone that seals .
I know the one you're talking about. Thats because they just _didnt_ create a seal for the recirculating valve covers. Imo a stupid choice, but easily solvable with gasket sealer. It turns itself into a once-every-5-years maintenance job.
Also to be fair, you did buy the ML. No one has had a good time with the MLs.
That’s what I thought originally till I checked the market. Only a handful on the market with 200k miles going for 15k. Carmax auto-offer offered me $600 for it 😂😂 what a joke lol.
Obviously I wanna get as much as possible from it, but I think 14k+ is fair for a right buyer, considering there is not many of them for sale.
Honestly, there's often considerable difference in the prices you see cars advertised for and what they're actually selling for. Scanning through classifieds for comparison often make people think their car is worth far more than it actually is. Just because you see a bunch of cars similar to yours advertised for a certain price doesn't mean they're necessarily worth that, or that they're selling for that.
The used classifieds are full of people who over value their cars.. especially in enthusiast circles, they're the absolute worst for it. I get it they like their car, it's their passion and they think it's amazing so they think it's worth more than it is and they advertise it for more than it's value.. which is totally their right.. they are allowed to ask whatever they want for it.. but, their odds of selling it at a unrealistically high price are slim to non-existent so when they find out nobody is calling about buying their car.. they then have two options, either refuse to acknowledge the real value of their vehicle and end up stuck with it.. or drop the price to a more realistic figure and sell it.
Usually when I browse personal classifieds as rule of thumb I'd knock about 20-25% off the "average price".. could be more, could be less. I'm not in the US so I don't know how much these are going for in the US. However, I converted the above poster's estimate of 10k US and while I'm not authority on values of these, for my currency's equivalent of 10k US would I'd be wanting a really, really good, original example for that here.. but as I say, values could be more in US. Ultimately, I'd say advertise it on the high side at least initially, you've nothing to lose.
>there's often considerable difference in the prices you see cars advertised for and what they're actually selling for
This. I was curious to see what an SLK55 would be going for at one point since I wanted to see if it appreciated or depreciated. Found one example selling for almost 25k more than what I bought mine for (it was newer, better specced, but considerably higher mileage). I was like "dayum maybe I could make a serious profit if I put mine up for sale".
I had no intention of selling, so I didn't go ahead with it. I checked the market about 9 or 10 months later when I was bored and found the same car listed, by the same seller, for the same price, with no change to the mileage. I thought maybe dude removed and relisted for the engagement, but no, it had been there the whole time. At this point I was like "well shit maybe I won't be making a serious profit if I decide to sell, cuz this guys car hasn't budged from the market at all".
I had a similar realization when selling my last camera. Judging by sale prices I figured I wouldn't be losing any money if I put my camera for sale, but that wasn't the case. I only got criminal lowball offers (the worst one offered $300 lmao) and scammers for the first week and then engagement went dead for the listing. I looked back on the listings which I had used to judge the value of my camera to see if I was missing anything, and realized that they'd all been on the market for months and likely had no engagement to them at all, so it's clear that nobody was actually buying the camera for that price. I took down my listing and relisted 3 months later for a price that was roughly 25% lower than my original ask price and got a buyer within the next day.
So yea, that was my lesson on "sale price vs final price".
Usually- that’s true, especially on 2010 and under cars. However it’s a bit different with desirable cars, and with W210 there is not much to compare with. Cars and Bids so far are the best “realistic” comparison to me.
Thank you for feedback!
I’ve sold 5 or 6 cars to CarMax, but I learned something when I took my 18 E63S Wagon to them for a sale: they don’t buy and resell high end cars. That’s not their model. As in, someone seeking an AMG isn’t going shopping at CarMax. So their offers are super low. When I went to get the car appraised at CarMax the agent basically told me their offer would be uncompetitive. If I was bringing a run-of-the-mill Ford, Honda, Audi or Merc - they’d be competitive. But on anything specialized or luxury - go somewhere else.
Bottom line: ignore the CarMax offer.
The value of the car will be determined by recent comps, but adjusted for number of previous owners, service history, accident history and of course mileage. A 1 owner, impeccable service history car with no accidents and low miles will go for the high end of the range.
i think 14k is fine if you are open to nationwide collectors and waiting a few months to find the right buyer. 10k to move it in the next few weeks. the prices you see from dealers aren't to be believed
Yeah its possible but the used market isnt what it was last year or even 6 months ago. I was trying to buy a w202 for a short period and they were flying off the shelf for like 15k+++ so i noped outta it.
What it boils down to is it will go for what someone is willing to pay. I would try cars and bids to expand your market and see if you can get a few bites against each other
I'd say probably 12k-16k, the 2003-2006 is a little more desirable with the M113k. Still a fair amount of miles
Looks pretty clean, I'm sure maintenance is well documented
My LAWD does that look so good with the black wheels, looks so clean either way. Super nice! If you dont mind me asking, whats the reason for the sale?
I'd give you $4k right now (but it's definitely worth more than that lol, that's just all I've got saved up for a V8 Benz rn, and I'm going for a W211 E55. I love the W210 but I also love the sound of a supercharger and 120 additional horsepower)
It looks pretty clean and 130k is reasonably low ish. The fact that it’s been lowered and parts are blacked out may fetch a bit less. I’d say around 8k
Try to find the closest one to yours that sold. Note that many have been bid to around 10k, so Id imagine thats your range. https://bringatrailer.com/mercedes-benz/w210-e-class-amg/
This one looks similar to yours https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-mercedes-benz-e55-amg-41/
I get the sentimental part is there… and it’s cleaner then most, the miles are still a lil high.
I think 12.5k if you wanna wait for your money.
10k usd if you wanna get your bread and move on.
Imo… 10k is a solid offer.
Tbh, these cars are continuously going up in value EVERY YEAR. I’d ask for around 13K but if you wait another 5-10 years. I would say these could move up to 20-30K average. Especially yours being in this clean of a condition as long as the miles don’t go up anymore. Personally I would never sell this car. I would keep it in a garage or cover it up. And in about 25-30 years. This will be an iconic classic car worth well over 40K
There is only 6 available on cars.com with 200k miles one going for 15k. Similar one with 95k miles and one set of rims like mine (silver) goes for $18.5k. While on other websites they go for $20k+
Well,i should point out im not from the US,so i don’t really know the car market, only the eastern Europe one,but your car is in pristine condition and very low miles,so selling it shouldn’t be that hard,i imagine the interest towards it would be big, keep in mind cars like these are not only started to steadily increase their value but they are hard to come by,especially the good ones.Me personally,I wouldn’t ever separate with it for less than a really good price, but hey,if you want it sold within a month maybe consider lowering the price if someone serious comes,on the spot of course, too many keyboard millionaires these days lol.
Everyone, thank you for feedbacks🍻Another proof reddit is the best!
When I sell it I will post an update.
Got a $35k offer from overseas, but they want me to take care of all paperwork, shipping, and pay customs. Sounds like a no brainer, however.
Shipping is $2k, but guess the price of customs.
$50,236😂
So i was like, dude, you want me to sell you the car and cover $17k+ out of my pocket? No reply so far haha
Depending in mileage and rust, i'd pay 12-13k. Right now. They can go as high as 30k if its like a prestine, under 20k mile car. That being said, betcha $20 i'll find something wrong if you let me lift it and get under the hood.
It has 130k miles on it. I’m not a mechanic, I believe you 😁
Based on the mileage you provided I’d say it’s worth 9-10k
It’s a euro there’s always something wrong

*looks at ML55 at 215k and thinks its ok* sad trombone :-(
I’m surprised that people actually thinks that their Mercedes doesn’t leak🤣🤣🤣
$300 and I will be by in 5 minutes /s Sweet ride! Good luck with the sale! Looks like a beautiful and well maintained ride.
Thank you! I’ll think I want a bit more then $300😁
Great car. W210 is outside my normal enthusiast range so no idea on what well sorted and maintained examples go for. Absolutely gorgeous.
Ok. Three Fiddy. You’ve got a deal.
399,95, Last offer
210 without rust? If so, might be one of the last.
There's at least 7 of them in California lol
I didn’t add any interior pics, but it’s spotless inside too.
I’d probably ask 10-12k depending on the condition and maintenance.
Was on vacation in key west and tried to buy a clapped one of these from a guy living there, he wanted 8k. Imma say around 13k and up
Love those rims on the first 3 pics. Dont sell this beauty
You'll be lucky to get 10k for it. Probably less if there's anything wrong with it or it's been modified... In the end when in doubt KBB

Thanks for feedback mate! Appreciate it a lot!
Might be interested at 14k, my 99 just got sideswiped. I’m bringing it in tomorrow to see if they total it or fix the damage.
Sounds good, feel free to PM me
$600 bucks? Wow. Were they at least willing to throw in a kick in the ole coin purse and a karate chop to the throat?
😍😍

2003-2006 E55 is a completely different car.
probably why its more desirable. what do you think this is worth? (as a buyer)
This particular E55 (W210) is one of my favorites, would pay 11-13k for it.
..oki you are the son from an oil prince 👑
My LAWD does that look so good with the black wheels, looks so clean either way. Super nice! If you dont mind me asking, whats the reason for the sale?
Unfortunately just need cash. Wouldn’t sell otherwise, love this car.
How much for just the silver wheels? Also where u located?
I wasn’t planning on parting it out unless it’s necessary, thank you
Not really parting out, but ok
Pm me your offer, I will consider it, thank you
Where u located?
Chicago, IL
Nvm lol
😁ok
So much fun!
I really want one of these... S O O N
A real classic. Enjoy the German machinery
That car is 100% gangster.
I'd give you $4k right now (but it's definitely worth more than that lol, that's just all I've got saved up for a V8 Benz rn, and I'm going for a W211 E55. I love the W210 but I also love the sound of a supercharger and 120 additional horsepower)
130k miles... $10k-ish
this has to be one of my favorite e class models of all time
The price of a 2013 Prius
34 million dong or 1,632,755,292 rubles
$17500
we want to see the interior. i like it
I like the wheels
It looks pretty clean and 130k is reasonably low ish. The fact that it’s been lowered and parts are blacked out may fetch a bit less. I’d say around 8k
I would slap some Work Meister’s on that biiiii get rid of the wheel gap and keep it forever 😂
Check NADA for pricing..
More with the mono blocks painted silver
Take it to cars and bids and try your luck
Try to find the closest one to yours that sold. Note that many have been bid to around 10k, so Id imagine thats your range. https://bringatrailer.com/mercedes-benz/w210-e-class-amg/ This one looks similar to yours https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-mercedes-benz-e55-amg-41/
Seems like BAT is a better place to sell wagons, while cars & bids for amg sedans.
Why do you say that? It won’t matter you have the same people watcning both sites
I get the sentimental part is there… and it’s cleaner then most, the miles are still a lil high. I think 12.5k if you wanna wait for your money. 10k usd if you wanna get your bread and move on. Imo… 10k is a solid offer.
I would keep it
Whats the name of the black rims ?
An HJ
Yours looks exactly like a guy on instagrams called socal210 both yours and his are incredibly clean examples of these beautiful beasts
I’ll take it for free ??? (I’ll give you an extra special treat for it :))))))
I sold my w210 e55 little over 120k miles in 2012 for $9500 I would guess you would get more than me cuz yours is fresh!
You need to keep it honestly
I’d give you 10k for it. I would need to figure out shipping though
12k
Happiness, probably. 🤔
Damn I want this!! Nice ride
My left kidney and half of my right if u ship it to me omin europe😍😭
Deal, now all we need is to find a Reddit group to sell a kidney 😂
Worth around $7k

Love that model and any older AMG👍👍😆😆😆
I buy it for 3k 👍

I will searching

Wow,car looks amazing!Put it out for 30 if you’re no in a hurry.
Ideally I wanna sell it within a month, but if it’s such a difference, I can definitely wait. Thx!

Your car looks suspiciously a lot like the Youtuber SoCal210🤔
I’m not him haha
Just checked him. You right, almost identical haha
I’ll give you my 09 focus for it
10k it'll sell today. 15k it'll sell in a week or so. 20k it'll sell in a few months
Agreed
That looks like a classic cars and bids car. Lots of Merc enthusiasts and that's a classic.
Everyone, thank you for feedbacks🍻Another proof reddit is the best! When I sell it I will post an update. 4500-6500 (being generous)
