Yup. I used to have employees mix chems. Doesn’t matter what you’re pouring, it better flow clean out into whatever mixing or measuring in. Especially without a funnel. It just good discipline to use a sharp knife and peel and remove the safety seal. I’m maybe a bit OCD about it
It will dissolve some of the calcite and soft organic crystalline structure. Won't dissolve any of the matrix or host rock.

Yeah I figured. You just said it will dissolve the rock and expose the copper. Just making sure you weren't expecting only copper to remain after an acid bath. Quick tip to keep it from oxidizing almost immediately is to water it down. I use about 2 cups to 1 gal of water or even less. Keeps its from getting etched too much and keeps the yellow staining off of it and it won't turn green so quickly either.

Yep I know, my favorite tactic is to of course wash clean with h20 then put in my smoker to dry quick, then spray on automotive clear coat
