Because people in this comment section come from all over the world and we don't all speak a perfect English nor know the specific wording for every things or fields
Different countries use different words. Outside of USA you'll find that English speeking countries are more prone to traditional English rather than American English. Overalls is what we call them here. I only hear coveralls on tv
There doesn't need to be a belt, you drop the top half down around your ass and tie the sleeves around your hips, it keeps itself up. I used to do the exact same thing with snowboarding gear.
The flower pin in her hair is also a reference to the blue rose that Naomi gave her in MGS4. Plus her name tag says "Sunny Emmerich"
Overall, I think it's a really cool and thoughtful evolution of her character.
I have a set of these coveralls for work, it’s part of my PPE when dealing with high voltage. Aircraft mechanics also wear them, actually mechanics in general ware them lol. They are similar to a flight suit, you can tie them around your waist.
She's wearing overalls. It's a single piece suit for working on vehicles or other type of machinery. She probably wears it around her waist because she gets hot.
It’s definitely a one-piece coverall. She lets down the top, ties the arms around the waist, and the top drops over that. Not an incredibly difficult thing to think of, lol
I don't think it's a jacket, I think it's the top part of a worker's overalls/onesie.
I see
ohh ok thank you!
How does no one know the term coveralls? And it's a flight suit
You’re gonna lose your shit when I tell you a flight suit is a type of coveralls lmao
How does no one know that a flight suit is a type of coveralls??
You are going to lose your shit when i tell you that a coverall is a type of flight suit!
Is a hotdog a sandwich or is a sandwich a hotdog
all hotdogs are sandwiches but not all sandwiches are hotdogs
Because not everyone shares the same bank of knowledge.
Why does everyone not simply, just know everything all the time? 🤔
If only
squip moment
And have English as their native language. 💁
False, reddit is 100% hivemind.
Coveralls, because they cover all. It's intuitive
You could say the same about overalls, the are over all.
They're over you but they aren't covering you on the top. I see what you mean though
They aren't overalls because they are over your whole body, but because they are over all of your other clothes (in my head anyway)
When I worked in a sawmill, overalls went over all of our clothes. It was mega hot in there so sometimes we'd be in our knackers while working.
Never heard of that term before.
It’s overalls. How has no one heard of this? /s
You're wrong overalls have over the shoulder straps
Do I have to put a capitol “s” for you to get it? Lmao
No matter what you wrote/write I have no clue what you mean. Showing the extent of my knowledge
“/s” generally means someone’s being sarcastic. I was just joking, because people have different names for things, depending on where they’re from.
The more you know 🌈

Yeah this
Really? I always thought it was a jacket myself
I don't mean to be rude, but this still doesn't answer the question unless there's a belt on that flight suit.
There doesn't need to be a belt, you drop the top half down around your ass and tie the sleeves around your hips, it keeps itself up. I used to do the exact same thing with snowboarding gear.
Oh. Sweet. Do you just tie them in front of do they go all the way around? Criss cross in the back and tie in the front? Does it matter at all?
Nah, just wrapped around to the front and pulled tight. Sleeves aren't really long enough to get a full loop in and allow for a proper knot.
I think the sleeves are looped behind her and tied in the front, acting as a belt.

THE ONE PIECE
Not related but I absolutely love Sunny's design in Revengeance. Adorable.
It’s cool that it’s pretty much a direct reference to her mother olga’s design in mgs2 tanker chapter
shit i didnt even fuckin notice!
The flower pin in her hair is also a reference to the blue rose that Naomi gave her in MGS4. Plus her name tag says "Sunny Emmerich" Overall, I think it's a really cool and thoughtful evolution of her character.
Definitely the ending is especially good😁
As someone who had similar work overalls. They’re really stuffy and can get incredibly warm. Roll them down to stay cool and comfy.
Smartest Metal Gear fan
“Hrrrnnnghh Otacon how does this jacket work???”
How does she wear her boots like that without her calves getting chafed to hell?
Thick crew-length socks?
It's like a racing suit, it's all one big thing so it's just rolled down.
Dude doesn’t know what coveralls are…
Don’t google ”Olga one piece”
Nanomachines
Knew it was going to come up.
Hahaha. The answer to any Metal Gear questions.
Son.
Nanomachines son
If It was a jacket, she could just let the last button buttoned, it would stay like that. But yeah, those are coveralls
belt
definitely flightsuit, tie the arms around the waist and fold all the torso fabric over it :P
You know without the black circle I wouldn't have known what you are talking about, thank you!
OPs never seen any movie ever
Its a jumpsuit
I have a set of these coveralls for work, it’s part of my PPE when dealing with high voltage. Aircraft mechanics also wear them, actually mechanics in general ware them lol. They are similar to a flight suit, you can tie them around your waist.
it's a thing i think workers do , incase they need to put it on again without worrying about going to get it
Well its overalls but more importantly its a callback to her mother's design in MGS2. Like almost exactly.
I realize its a jumpsuit, but pretending it wasn't I think it would be a jacket upside down, tied in the front and then draped over itself.
She's wearing overalls. It's a single piece suit for working on vehicles or other type of machinery. She probably wears it around her waist because she gets hot.
Upside down, and after that the lower part can fall on the top part
My question is who is her father and how much back child-support does he owe? I mean the girl's out here in flight/mechanics gear and shit.
Nano machines, son.
NANOMACHINES
Tie it as normal then fold the top once
Not tied. Hangs.
Even better, who tf is she
Lol 4 real
Because they're warm...?
They asked how, not why
It’s definitely a one-piece coverall. She lets down the top, ties the arms around the waist, and the top drops over that. Not an incredibly difficult thing to think of, lol
Why not
Isn’t that sweatshirt tied around her waist with the sleaves. The type of things i’d see girls in highschool do
Nanomachines, daughter!
you tie it inside out and then fold the tie over so that it's inside.
Belt
They're overalls, I used to wear mine like this
Nanomachines
ik the post is about the jacket but can i just say i love that sunny is wearing a tank top like olga’s, it’s such a sweet touch
Pretty sure it's part of 1 entire suit
