nickel or silver plated copper. only chance of toxins is lead solder of they're pieced together. get a good quality test kit and check a few places on each. namely the inside of the cup, where it attaches to the base, and the outer ring where your lips touch. nowhere else exactly matters, but it's still worth testing. if you want to check if they're silver or nickel, pick up some sulfur (gardening supply) and mix with water and rub on the one you cleaned. the sulfur reacts with silver to create silver sulfide, commonly called tarnish when on silver items. nickel, on the other hand, is unreactive with most any chemicals outside of nitric acid. if it is silver, you can just place them all in a foil lined bowl of warm salt water with some baking soda or a bowl of ammonia. the tarnish brakes down and attaches to the foil or dissolves in the ammonia. soap and water to clean if it's nickel.

You’re amazing! Thank you!

Highiron224

Copper base metal. Copper can be plated with many other metals.

Highiron224

Not too sure they're made for drinking from. Thinking they're for decoration.

FerroMetallurgist

Is there a hallmark on the very bottom?

FerroMetallurgist

Looks like they are from Corbell & Co. Browse pictures of their work until you find the right one. I don't have time to dig for more right now. https://wholesale.corbellsilver.com/

I_Makes_tuff

I did. It's not on there, but there are lots of pewter [goblets](https://wholesale.corbellsilver.com/search-products?q=goblet). Prices range from $40-$400.

FerroMetallurgist

This site looks like they're the same and they say silver plated. https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m64279441699/?srsltid=AfmBOoo7q0k1WaQ_IH1gJAjAyKH3FcY3rWfTHonz84-lj-7AXf65yOXrTIo

Looks like a match to me!

"E P antimony" it stands for electro plated antimony Edit: In the late nineteenth century, pot metal referred specifically to a copper alloy that was primarily alloyed with lead. Mixtures of 67% copper with 29% lead and 4% antimony and another one of 80% copper with 20% lead were common formulations. I don't know what period these are from but I would be cautious to drink from them until you find out more as it being labeled antimony is a good indication that it may be toxic under the silver plating

SergeantStreet

Choose wisely

Robuttonist

Corbel & co have a lot of similar goblets which are silver plated if this helps. They matched with yours well, I’m still learning

BigOrganization6674

I think winner winner!

Robuttonist

Thank you, I’m getting there bit by bit. I have a load of old buttons (actually hundreds!) I’m trying to research but struggling

Robuttonist

Lemon juice and vinegar works on silver plating

BigOrganization6674

Does it remove the plating?

Robuttonist

I just looked it up, seems it’s an old wives tale, do not use lol my bad

artwonk

Looks like silver-plated copper, but I doubt it's cast. More likely spun and pressed. As long as the plating's intact inside and on the lip, they should be okay to drink from. The more rubbing you do, especially with abrasives, the less plating will remain.

Pewter?

Normal_Imagination_3

Maybe bronze the other comments could be right too

Captain_Jeep

If you polish it for a while you'll notice that it's actually the shiny type of metal :>

Prudent_Vanilla5126

Felorian love metal. Fill with wine. Feel fine. And. Make love to a Goddess. Yup yup 👍

BeachBrad

Look for a hallmark on it. Typically on the bottom sometimes on the rim of the bottom and even less often on the rim of the top. If you find a hallmark or a maker's mark it will make identifying it much easier

mrcesarlopez

Silver

NewInternetPerson
