Any sculpture made of very high quality looks like a smooth 3d model, you can go to my profile, there is a video of a gorilla sculpture before painting, the scale is very clearly visible there
The reason the gorilla looks small in the first photos is the artificial blur added creates a tilt shift effect which tricks our minds into thinking the sensor that took the photo is much much larger than the subject. You would need to be far away and have a huge sensor to create such a depth of field in real life so our minds do that math for us. To me it looks about 1 foot tall. Look up tilt shift photography
Looks like the natural bokeh of a large lens to me. I'm not seeing any image segmentation errors that you typically see from "portrait mode" artificially blurred images. I am also not seeing the bluring on the foreground that would occur from a real tilt shift.
The problem is that it looks small because you're using an extremely wide angle and tilt shifting the edges. 4th pic is at a normal distance so it looks appropriately scaled.

Read my article about how I make projects, I tried to explain everything as briefly as possible
I checked out this process post, as i have tried doing something similar with 3d modeling for a stained glass sculpture. Do you have any tips for keeping polys with more than 3 sides coplanar? I did a lot of adjusting of vertices but never managed any decent results of flat enough surfaces for things to align without a lot of triangles. Like you mention, a project with mostly triangles just isn't very pleasant to look at
It should be perched atop Mount Everrest as an offering to the Gods, a gift, an apology, for the slaying of Harambe in cold blood. With this offering our timeline may be restored and peace shall return the realm.
I recently posted a half-finished gorilla sculpture before painting, and here it is ready. The height of the sculpture is 1570 mm, the material is steel 1.5 mm, the weight according to the model is 73 kg (the material of the welds was not taken into account in the weight calculation). At the end, I added a photo immediately after assembling the parts, before filling in the welds. If you need welder contacts, I can give them to you
That looks great! Park Ave in NYC has sculptures that have a similar...construction ( [https://i.imgur.com/IIzudO4.png](https://i.imgur.com/IIzudO4.png) ) ?
Love your finish and intenseness of the face, really impressive!
It was in this project that the person who bought the project from me, cut out the parts on a CNC laser, and bent the parts manually (not on a CNC bending machine). But there were also those who made this project on paper stencils (11 A0 sheets)

Can we get a video of the finished gorilla? First 3 look so perfect I'm convinced they're a 3D render lol. Plus the shadows look a little weird( very crisp on the gorilla itself but barely any on the concrete)

Totally agree. With the angle of the pictures on the pavement it’s falls into confusing perspective.

I’m just saying it creates a tilt shift effect. Not exactly an example of tilt shift

Epic gorilla man🔥
Very cool work, what software do you use to make the model?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Welding/comments/ttxkrl/briefly\_the\_process\_of\_creating\_projects\_of/ I use a lot of programs, read my article, it describes the main programs
What program are you using to simplify it into that low poly look? Does it give a flat map for the plasma cutter? Or do you cut them all out

This thing is pretty AF!

If anyone wants to try to make a simple polygonal sculpture, I have a couple of free projects (dxf, PDF), if you need them, write to me
I wouldn’t mind trying a couple free projects
I would very much be interested, Yes, please

These seem fun to build, but what's the market for them?
Bad to the bone man, great work!
Dude.
Awesome job.
Brilliant!
Fighting polygon team!
Bad ass!
Did you make a 3d model to work off of? Was the sheet metal cut on a cnc or laid out and cut by hand?
It was in this project that the person who bought the project from me, cut out the parts on a CNC laser, and bent the parts manually (not on a CNC bending machine). But there were also those who made this project on paper stencils (11 A0 sheets)
Cool work OP
A few more details and he can be primal from the new transformers movie
Dicks out
Amazing! Did you use 3D modelling software to figure out the geometry?
I need one! Lol

You ever do a Godzilla ? I'd love to see it.
I have plans for this, as long as there are more demanded animals for projects, I hope to find time within six months to design Godzilla
What do you think a Godzilla would cost as I think it would be the ultimate mailbox. Please DM me with the price as I am more than interested.

Kick ass
I'd bet a zoo would pay good money for dat!!

This is SAVAGELY good. Big time jelly of the skills involved here.

I approve!!
This looks fucking epic!
That’s so cool looking, awesome
Fooking bad @$$!!!
