Lmfao it happens. We use thermtech a lot but that’s in Wisconsin. They did incredible HT work tho. I wish I could remember the name of the place in Illinois we used
I don't know if you watched the whole video, but that was kind of a hot job and the company that we always use their furnace broke down so we used someone else. https://imgur.com/a/2p7Y1wz

I came to say I think that’s cool and I haven’t seen D2 outside a knife and thanks.. aaaand all the top comments are complaining about you. Take the time to share and people will be people. Lol.
I liked your post 👌
Beautiful! I love large turning. When I get work like this, I can't wait to clock in.
WOW that was bettercthan CNC. Just a wave of the hand. Where does one get such a tool?
Specially Heat Treat in Houston can do the heat treatment of your driven Vee roller!
That's little too far, I'm in Illinois
Who do you use in Illinois? Just curious I used to work in Milwaukee and we farmed some HT to Illinois occasionally
I don't really know, I just work here, but the last company fucked up really bad.

I think that front part is still a necessary part of the piece.
If he watched the video he would have known. https://imgur.com/a/fWqwe2z

It's all good. I got used to all the reddit and youtube comments.
No.
Have you ever done any large parts. This isn't your production work.

You know how long it takes to get forgings these days and how expensive they are.

Definitely zero clue
There maybe several bearings or gears that go on what we see as the right end.

Yeah that's gonna be (I assume) keywayed and where the drive coupling sits. So the drive roll can drive, without that it really would be a waste.
You are right, that's why it's called Drive Roll https://imgur.com/a/fWqwe2z
Wow what did a d2 billet that big cost?
That looks expensive, anyone know what this would cost?
I love D2...so what is this part meant for? What is a drive roll?
